    There are these things called elipsis... fyi... I usually run with the Mosin and Mp5. If I can't find one I use a FNX. If I can't find that the 1911 and finally the Magnum. If I happen to have an AR I forget about the sidearm completely.

    There was a fix posted for this a while back. Try choosing your default character and exiting the game.

    Considering Dayz is a sandbox game for the most part. It can cater to all play styles. Also some others have pointed out that server admins can only do two thing, change the server name and change the restart time. Maybe some of the other forum posters are right. And BIS should host their own official servers without the option to privatly host servers/hives. Until they decide they can no longer run them for whatever reason and release the server files for people interested in doing so.

    Didn't they basically fork the RV engine? So most of the work was in place. I'm not arguing that they move too slowly or anything like that. Just putting that out there.

    What program do you use? In my experience using soemthing like fraps to record in a lossless codec and then encoding the video with avidemux or similar to produce pretty good quality for youtube. Recently I've been using Open Broadcaster Software https://obsproject.com/ to record video. While the quality is not as good as going from lossless to x264. It sure is a lot quicker. Plus hardware encoding! Note: if you do use fraps expect ~4GB per 1.5 minutes or so. Recording at 1080p 60fps.

    You mean like how (third person|zombies|food tins, yet cars a rusted out junk|etc...) doesn't fit the games hyper-realistic tone? I think if we can have 3pp we can have an auto move forwards key.

    I don't understand how it is immersion breaking at all. Even in real life a person can change direction -180 degrees- fairly quickly (< 1 second) while standing/kneeling.Even while holding weight. I think that people forget that spinning your body 180* and shifting stance to face another direction are two different things. Seriously though, it's a game. The old negative mouse acceleration controls we'rent "realistic" at all. The only way I found it to be playable was to use the floatingZoneArea setting.

    Isn't free aim already in the game (floatingZoneArea=x)? it just doesn't have a menu option? unless aiming deadzone correlates to that option. I have it set to .17 and it seems to work exactly the same as in the video.

    I was in a high pop server entering the nwaf, stopped to scope out the area. All of a sudden music started playing. my first thought was, "Oh shit, someone snuck up on me and is trolling me before I die...". Not seeing anyone I booked it out of there as fast as I could. Wondering why the music never stopped I finally shift tabbed and there was some advertisement playing -_-

    Do you have DayDB open in the steam browser? I've had one of the ads create a new window and start playing music in an advertisment.

    I've found setting the floatingZoneArea to something like .15 and mouseSensitivityX/Y ~ .5 offers the best balance between fast target aquisition and being able to swing around quickly without hitting the negative mouse acceleration threshold. Obviously results may vary depending on your windows mouse settings and your mouse DPI.
