  1. If you haven't got anything in return you have bigger problems. This mindset that I don't care what you told me, I bought it and expected 'X' is bullshit. I ordered a Big Mac and dammit it's not a fillet mignon. I want a freaking refund! Unbelievable....
  2. Alpha is alpha. Not spamming, just factual statement. You are being allowed the option to play a game in early phase of development. Delete it and play any number of 1000's of titles that are complete. Stop whining and bitching about something that was clearly disclosed at purchase. Posts like these make me want to go all alpha on you...
  3. I personally hate posters just posting for the attention or a good cry. B ye....

    breaking legs to grief

This is the guy I've met. Handcuffs and broken legs - with his gear sitting beside him is the way I treat him. Hoping they implement lynching in a future update... :)

    breaking legs to grief

I'm just messing with you. (But I will break those legs) I'm a fan of having improvised splints be much easier to craft in game. Until then, I agree that breaking legs is a PITA - but to be honest, most encounters result in being KOS anyway. Never survived a robbery in over 200 hrs of gameplay - resulting in me never giving up without some lead exchange, regardless of the odds post 200 hrs...

    breaking legs to grief

You lost me when you said you were a bandit. Stealing my stuff gets your legs broken on the far side of the map! :)

    It has happened...

Already experienced that on Experimental. Had a situation at Krasnostav where I was being attacked by another player while visiting the jail (yes, a jail there now!). Got to the roof and he was trying to snipe, and then got run off by 6 zeds - long enough for me and another player in the area to duck out. He had a mosin and had to switch to an axe and those feet to stay alive. It was the first time for me personally where the Zeds made a difference in the game. More Zeds please!

Spawning mechanics will be revised - and hopefully they account for that, as I agree that 'clearing an area' should grant a temporary, brief, reprieve in certain cases.

    Direct voice chat+Zombies Discussion

I'm not for separate hot keys for different levels of talking. I do think they should be able to hear you though - and base it on proximity. I don't want it implemented early though - need to get physics done first.

    DayZ is GREAT VALUE

If you haven't got your monies worth, you just haven't tried.... Extreme value

    It has happened...

Swarms and swarms of them please. That mosin and LRS will have a completely different use when you can't just park on a hillside and wait for Bambi to walk by - especially after that first shot. They need to fix the physics for certain, but I'm ok with the game changing to a survival fight first...

    Clips For The New Handguns

The people of Cherno were VERY gun safe. Did not believe in keeping guns and ammo in the same town, much less house.... :)

Wow... If that ends up being true, there is no 'hardcore' anymore? Just one version? Interesting...

    Sacred Ground

Absolutely no shooting in churches - I like it! All that can happen there is you get a snack and get molested - but NO SHOOTING! B) I'm all for safe places - but they are impossible to enforce. vigilantes rule the day - and rules of any kind are just there to be broken, unless they apply something in game or get organized...

My team and I are starting a Berezino Mafia

Mafia is run by fear. There is no fear of others in this game - everyone kills everyone. I follow no man's orders. I think you'll end up with more brokeback than scarface in your scenario...

    People who eat tuna

Tuna eaters are the worst. Usually they have backpacks and firearms too - so tired of the storage and weapon cheats in this game. I ran into a fresh spawn on the coast, an obvious hacker, who was sporting a flashlight AND battery at spawn! Unbelievable how the cheating in this game has gotten so out of hand!!!

Anyone else tried shooting a rabbit?

Thumper is a bad mamma jamma.... I'd rather kill Bambi :)
  20. I largely play DayZ as a survivor and only act aggressively after being attacked or threatened. There are a couple of 'exceptions' to this - largely when near death on the coast and as last resort only. That said, I'm considering a 'time out' strategy for the next person that attacks me including some of the following. - render unconscious (gunshot or blunt force) - handcuff with pristine cuffs - remove all clothes, gear, and weapons (take ammo) and lay beside aggressor - break their legs, stop bleeding, and revive (epi or defibrillator) - leave note on them stating they are in a time out and do not assist - leave walkie talkie on them and watch from a distance warning people away from them - leave them to their fate This is EXTREME obviously, likely costing an individual a large amount of personal gaming time working through this treatment, but it begs the question, what is too far and when have you crossed the line to griefing? I'd like to spank some KOS bootay - but not sure of my line on the retribution or lesson front. Thoughts? I'm feeling froggy after my last time being ambushed - where should I draw the line!

Punishing the aggressor - How far is too far?

I thought the act of leaving their gear beside them would give them some 'hook' to trying to wait it out to get it. Logging out and onto another server makes them literally have to start from scratch. Likely not a full proof method, especially with weapon cloning still around, but at least some incentive to stay anyway. I like the idea of a trial, but that takes a much more organized approach than I'll have unfortunately. Breaking legs and taking gear is likely my best alternative at an inconvenience/time out approach. I wasn't sure you could respawn with handcuffs - never tried it before, but thanks for the info. I also have been thinking of ways to have their murderous ways punished after the fact as well. Like while they are unconscious, replace good amo with ruined ammo. Next time they go to get in the thick of it, they have a likelihood of getting the worst of it. Poisoning some of my own food, so that when I'm killed they have the possibility of eating it, was another thought - but I hear that doesn't work. Any other ideas for a little justice?

Punishing the aggressor - How far is too far?

I'm looking at punishment fitting the crime - which is largely lost time in my gathering of gear vs their time lost via this incapacitation treatment. It's obviously not reciprocal as it takes hour upon hours to get kitted the way I am - but needs to be 'fitting' for playing the role of 'thief and killer' in this game. Not settled on what or how just yet, but just debating the consequences myself. Losing gear and death is nearly no consequence as they are likely to have a method (duping, stealing, friends, etc) of replacing gear - time is a different factor, and one I'm chewing on...

Punishing the aggressor - How far is too far?

This is my conundrum... Need a punishment only fitting the crime...

    Doors & Noise

That is HILARIOUS! I freak myself out with a mis-aimed axe swing sometimes, never thought of doing it to others....

Crafting, the future and what *you* want to see

To the OP's question, I really think a well layered crafting system will add a ton of fun to this game. I play largely as a survivor and would love to see 'survival crafting' vs gathering finished goods as we have today. I think we need to get persistent storage in place first though as that's a key to giving it the depth it deserves. Snares, fishing, hunting, fire craft, etc will definitely add some interest - and having to cross a map to get a critical supply will keep populations all over the map.
