Optimization. My computer isn't top of the line but I can run seemingly much more demanding games (bf3/bf4 at ultra) with little to no issues at the highest settings with at least 30fps. I get more than 30 (most of the time....) at very low average settings in this game but looking at the wrong wall will make my fps plummet to around 15 just to turn around and be back at 50. I'm talking in cities of course, in the wilderness my fps goes above 100 sometimes. There is some serious issues there that must be incredibly hard to fix, coming from an aspiring coder who is only dealing with subjectively minor issues I can see where the devs must be coming from. Trust me, coding is not fucking easy AT ALL. They'll figure it out, I just wish it was their main priority...even though I realize why it isn't.

A (Former) Good Guy at the End of his Patience's Rant
VPPTrue replied to TSGN7's topic in General Discussion
Here is a bandit story for you- My friend and I were in Elektro, which is relevant as people are complaining about pvp there, and noticed a fresh spawn. We approached him and told him we were heroes hunting bandits and told him to hide with us in the textile factory or whatever the fuck you call it, some say admin building. We lead him upstairs and put some food on the ground for him. As he began eating, we handcuffed him knowing that he could not run. We then broke his legs, and if you know anything about DayZ you know you can't crawl down stairs while handcuffed with a broken leg. We bandaged him and ran across the street. As expected, within 5 minutes he started screaming for help. Of course, heroes to the rescue by the droves. We shot them all. Every single hero that tried to save this man died while hearing the terrified screams for help or mercy as they faded into oblivion. We waited in Elektro killing all who came to save him until he died of starvation. Without players like me this game would be no fun. All videos you see would be of a bunch of hippies sitting around a campfire role playing as long lost hippie brothers. Think about it. -
[BUG]Attacking too rapidly will pull out sidearm.
VPPTrue replied to VPPTrue's topic in General Discussion
Crap -.-' I skimmed through that as I was patching. Sure enough Melee (When using rapid left click there is a high chance that melee weapon will get switched) Welp, perhaps I expanded on it a little, I'm sure they knew about all I said, however. This post may live a short life indeed. No objections to a lock on my end. -
(stun baton or a cattle prod) No tickee, no laundree or how to keep your shirts from getting ruined by zeds
VPPTrue replied to barnabus's topic in General Discussion
As others have said (i feel I just need to make it clear the stun baton/prod sucks) - Axe is better in 100% of situations you will find yourself in. Honestly, the stun baton and prod have no real place in this game right now. Maybe if they had a high knock out rate.... -
The Vybor spawn is the only one I know of that spawns you without clothes.

Huge leap back to playability with this version
VPPTrue replied to PongoZ's topic in General Discussion
It's not just you. The very first thing I noticed was a huge jump in fps. I did install a driver the same day I installed the patch, but I think it's the patch responsible for my fps gains. Also, for some reason having AA turned on gives me better performance than it does turned off. Go figure, but I ain't complaining. -

First off, sorry to the mods if it is against the rules to post bugs here. I tried to use the bug reporting section and I..well...I failed miserably at being patient with it. Secondly, I searched briefly if this bug had been reported and didn't find a topic. The result of bug: You unintentionally equip the item in slot three *this could also be that it equips the next hot-linked item over, but since it works with fists, i think it equips slot 3 exclusively. How to reproduce bug: With either a fast melee weapon (ie. not a fire axe) or your fists, attack multiple times, clicking rapidly. * Moving seems to accelerate the time it takes. I really should test this bug more thoroughly. If I happen to test some more I will update. edit: I always have my weapon in slot 1, melee in slot 2, and sidearm in slot 3. I switched my sidearm out for bandages and the result of the bug was pulling out my bandages. This means it always pulls out slot 3 or the next slot over from the previously used item.

Ah, my bad. The threads I saw were titled differently and a few were from months ago. If loot respawn was already implemented, I wouldn't mind 10 minute join times. Server hopping is not necessary/useful if loot respawns. Until that is implemented on stable, I suggest to the devs to cut respawn time in half, if easily possible.
-
I searched and found no similar topics, sorry if I missed it. A ten minute spawn timer is just plain silly. I know that server hopping is not necessarily a good thing, but ten minutes spawn timer is just absurd imo. 5 minutes is plenty long and adds the "boredom" factor of hopping fine enough.

They need to bring back the zombie kill scoreboard and time survived message
VPPTrue replied to pjano's topic in Suggestions
I don't want to be that entitled gamer guy. But...if a feature is really enjoyed by the playerbase...shouldn't it be considered important? I understand if you don't want it to be too easy to know that stuff, for immersion and what not. The way I think of it is this- What if you were that lunatic in a zombie apocalypse, or Gimli, and you counted off every time you wasted a zombie, or even a person. It's not entirely unbelievable. I think a valid option would be a way to craft a notebook/diary/journal that you didn't necessarily have to edit manually (because one could use the paper and pen to do that). Instead, you would have the option to "Update Journal" which would be an automated process that added your kills, time alive, etc. -
Beat me to it. The batteries would long have died out, unless it you happened upon a car that was working then I guess it would work...which is weird considering that if that car's battery was working, why aren't the others? Thinking about that will lead you into paradoxical rabbit hole I suppose. I guess it boils down to some people abandon their vehicle sooner than others. It is after all a game, even though it does take a crack at simulation. I guess in the end, the only way this would be implemented would be that only the drive-able cars would have alarms, which would definitely add some depth. However, most of the usable cars are cars you wouldn't normally see a car alarm on. More likely would be a string of cans tied to the bumper.

I laughed too hard at that "demonstrative drawing"

Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?
VPPTrue replied to taco86's topic in General Discussion
The trauma created from getting shot, the rapid blood loss.-that's what knocks you out. I was never saying the blunt force of the bullet, or bolt, would knock you out/back. That's only in the movies. What I was saying is along these lines. -
Why does the cross bow do more damage than the m4?
VPPTrue replied to taco86's topic in General Discussion
Ugh, people in here are trying to get scientific and failing. It's actually a very simple equation. F=Ma- Force equals mass multiplied by acceleration. The crossbow bolt is not much heavier than the m4 round, yet the m4 round accelerates much, much faster. There is no way that an m4 round exerts less force than a crossbow, mathematics simply won't allow it. Think about it. Why would armies today use a rifle when a crossbow is more effective? They don't because it's not. -
There it is
