I found some good vehicles on a server, but the server disappeared in the afternoon. It came back online so I joined in, and there was this guy with me. The server resetted 6 or 7 times, and everytime I came back. He was online too, so I believe that this guy: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198066603541/ bought a server (DayZ (public/veteran) 128177 - hosted by Gameservers.com) just to organize his ridiculous own private hopping-dedicated server. I thought that I would talk to him, but what could I say? That I would report his server? Why would he care? I mean, if he bought a server just for that, he probably doesn't really care if the server is closed. What can we do? (btw if you want to get some good stuff, find a spot, join this server, it's actually restarting every 1 minute with the guy still on. I guess it's the 30th reset at least. He really wants his stuff).

What do you think about the new deathmap? If the map is accurate I notice that a lot of people died in isolated places, probably noobs who froze or starved. I also notice that a few noobs tried to swim far away, and many of them fell on the rocks.

I only play on low populated servers, so I rarely die. The last time I died was at the beginning of 0.51 I think. We were 2 players on the server. I shecked Zeleno military base, and then went to the house next to the barracks. I thought that I was quite safe, but someone was hiding inside and surprised me. Maybe as much as I surprised him I don't know. Anyway I was full stuff and he had only a Magnum. I killed him with the AK of course, but he managed to hit me and I died from my wounds. The guy ragequitted and when I was back to the place both bodies had disappeared. Then I ragequitted 1 or 2 weeks.

The V3S explanation makes sense. Indeed, you can also notice that a lot of people died on the border of the map. This is what happens when a V3S drives out of the map: the V3S falls.

Yes and there isn't much we can do against them. Everytime we complain on the forums someone come and tell us that it is OUR job to report those servers. I guess they don't do that because some people would still find a way to increase gamma. I remember however that there used to be some moonless nights, totally dark nights during which increasing gamma couldn't help much.

I believe that duplication is less game breaking than all those "private" public servers used by groups of people to stuff themselves.

Tactical vests have disappeared from the loot database, and all characters were wiped some time ago, so that's not possible. There is no GPS in the game. On some servers you can see your position on the ingame map like this (the yellow circle). However servers are not supposed to allow that, and you should report it. I experienced that something like 2 months ago, and I don't know if it still works on some servers.

Stable regular: If someone has a pristine smersh vest I have a green painted M4 with MP parts (P), ACOG (P), M68 optics (P), RIS (W), BUIS (W), 60rnd mag, 40rnd mag.

I want a Smersh vest. I have been looking for one for weeks and wasted hours of my life. I could give you a lot of stuff for that.

I have spent more than one month exclusively looking for the Smersh without finding any.

Even the Ukrainian nazis trying to crush the rebellion don't use those nazi uniforms, even though they have quite a lot at home.

Weapons can stay days on a persistent server.

Maybe a pristine camo bandana (the tiable one), but I would give the AK without the PSO1 and with 1 mag. Of course if you ever found a pristine SMERSH vest (or in any shape if you don't have attached a backpack to it) I could give you almost everything I have. I have been looking for this vest since the wipe and spent quite a lot of time at heli crash sites. Some people don't like how the vest looks, but I like Soviet stuff so this is much valuable to me.

If you don't have a ACOG, or camo bandana (tiable) or Smersh vest, it would take 2 pristine HC vests.
