    The viewdistance is set in your settings. The server only sets the "other players" view distance, but the distance at which you see trees, objects, buildings, is set in your settings. Also note that if your object quality (I guess it's "scene complexity") is too low, you will only see the head and weapons of other players at long range. Documents/DayZ/player.dayzprofile : "viewDistance=X; preferredObjectViewDistance=X; You probably have 1000 right now. If you mostly play in towns, you really don't need more than 300-400. I think 700 is quite enough in most situations. If you play sniper or if you are in rural areas, you might prefer something between 800 and 1200. Try different settings, and you will notice that decreasing the view distance greatly improves performance.

    Stable regular: If you got pristine or worn ACOG or pristine combat knife, I can give pristine tent, pristine camo bandana (the new one) + AK 101 with as much mags as you want , MP5K 30rnd mags, pristine TTSKO clothes and pristine assault vest khakhi. I would like to test the Acog on a MP5K. Send PM. I also would like to have one of the old tactical vest, pristine (I know some people still have some) and a grenade. I would become your own personal slave. I can also trade Karakoz's secrets, if you don't know them already. I will only trade with trusted community members.

    This is a good update. Even if melee isn't working well, you can still kill zombies. We have seen much worse! Can't wait for SMERSH stuff.

    How does persistency work? Can you bring an item from a server onto another? What would happen on long run if thousands of "persistent" items stay like that?

  14. But you can play the game as you want. Some players play RP, that's their right. They won't use military stuff for example, and they will die sooner. But that's not cheating, as no rule is broken. Glitching isn't cheating, you don't break any rule, except if there is special rules on your server, but private servers are not allowed yet. The possibility to see gamma at night isn't a glitch nor a cheat, it's a feature of the game, just like M4 used to be a feature of the game. They will fix it eventually, but until then players are allowed to increase gamma and should do so if they want to survive.
  15. As I said already those deaths happened on stable, not on experimental. My last death on experimental was perfectly normal, I killed someone and I got killed after that. Anyway, I wasn't complaining about stable or experimental, I just said that I have very good reasons to use those glitches without feeling guilty.
  16. Of course I would still use them, because that's not cheating. Cheating is breaking the rules, but in DayZ the rules are made by the game developers. Glitching isn't cheating. Everyone can do that, there is no secret. If you don't want to use those glitches, fine, this is your right. But don't complain if people do. Moreover, I do scavenge for several hours, just to find all my pristine TTSKO stuff and the spare clothes, and the AKM with all the accessories, this already takes a LOT of time. So duplicating the magazines is a very small compensation compared to the time lost when your character got killed for no reason.

  18. No, this happened on stable, and I have more than 800 hours of gameplay. So please don't tell me what's for me and what is not. I play with all the bugs and broken features, including those killing me, including those allowing me to duplicate my magazines.
  19. Yes I do that. But there is no cheat. It's a glitch, like putting your head in the walls to see people behind. In two days I died because of the game, the first time I got a "you are dead" after a server restart (I was in a building), and the second time I got stuck between rocks and the server propelled me in the air. So why should I take all the shit and refuse the best? Should I spend hours searching for magazines just to die like that? No. If you have only one drum, you will probably lose it sooner or later. Why should you accept that if the game also gives you the solution to your problem?
  20. Actually all drum mags do that, with or without free slots, and they don't fall to the ground, they just disappear. If you want to reload you need to do it manually. However you can duplicate your mags easily to avoid this problem.

    Ahah ridiculous, you won't kill me with 2 SKS bullets unless you got lucky. If the target is moving you will need much more, especially if you are in 3rd person view. I have already unloaded 3 mags on someone before killing him.

    That's what I said. 30 isn't enough, so you will have to reload and reloading is dangerous. Therefore it's better to have the drum, but it should reduce the accuracy and mobility of the gun. Yet it doesn't.
