Yes thats what I meant. He needs to remove cba first, but I think he is having other problems too, so he should still reinstall unless removing cba will get it to work. He clearly states that he removed files from the AO folder, and if he removed important ones then only a reinstall will fix it. Unless they are still in his trash bin

Just a question: I am running arma maxed out, and 3d res at 1920x1200 ( same as my monitor) will setting the 3d res higher actually make the game look better? I would try it myself but I dont have time for it atm.

Because you have co as the entire retail package, OA will automatically install into your arma 2 folder. Ill guide you trough the steps you should take: make the dayz folder in your normal arma 2 install. Extract everything propperly and then start up your game. Go to expansions and look if it has OA and arma2 enabled. If thats the case, then see if you can enable the @dayz in that menu. Start up the game again and look if they are now enabled. If you still cant join a server then let me know.

You need to install arma again armajaylib is very important and everyone has it, cba is not needed for this mod. Reinstall arma completly, and dont use sixupdater. Instead you should follow one off the guides here on the forum. I have one that is called "new users with problems check here." Follow that one without missing any steps and have fun playing! Do not use sixupdater.

Hey guys, I am going to share my tips. I have had ArmA games since arma 1 and these tips are based on years off expierence. This thread is all about easy, impossible to screw up tweaks. For other tips you can try the stickied thread. Ill sort tips by pc strenght. Very weak pc: Old dual core, low end gpu etc Post procces off Shadows off Vsync off AA off Antro filter off All settings at low execpt for video memory and the ones noted above 3d res at the same as your normal res. Weak pc: old dual core, low- midlow end gpu. Same as above. EverythIng on low with textures and terrain on medium. Mid end pc. AA on 2 Antro filter at medium Post procces off Shadows at high Vsync off All other settings on medium, find out yourself if your computer can handle terrain and textures on high. Protip: buy pmc dlc, awesome textures bro

Demo has way lower res then normal arma 2, And this res diffrence can make the game unstable. Source: me playing arma games since arma 1.

I would not recommend doing that lance, as it will be more unstable and entire chernarus will be low res. If you have a weak computer that might be good, but if you want to play on high settings you should always buy arma2

Jos putting it in the arma 2 folder wont work because you never actually run CO if you follow my guide, you only run arma2 as an addon.

It is 100% certain if you follow them, and no I did need any fucking help at all installing the mod, I have had the original arma and arma2 and OA. I have had arma2 and OA since their release dates. I used my method for 4 irl friends, without any problems, and I came up with the method on my own. The guide covers all the problems I have encounterd with the game myself and what I helped my friends with. This method worked for every mod I played including ACE, TCG, DAYZ, and many more. If it doesnt work and you are sure that you followed every step then either you did not create the dayz mod folder in the OA folder, or you are missing one off the dlc's. Incase you are using the shortcut, do not do it untill you got the mod working, instead lauch OA (not CO) and go to expansions and enable day z and arma 2. If either or both of those do not show in the list, then you did not do it correctly and you missed a step. There is no way that there is still a problem if they both show enabled in the list.

Ugh erase all your attempts and follow my guide you can find in the troubleshooting section. Its called new users with problems check here. If you follow all the steps I am 100% sure it will work. It guides trough all the possible combinations off the 2 games (like retail with steam) make sure too erase all attempts before you start. Good luck

Then atleast the mod is correctly installed, you messed up on the addons pasting part. As you wrote it, I think you just pasted all of the addons inside the folder, this is not correct. In the ArmA 2 folder it has a folder called addons, you need to copy the ENTIRE folder, not just the contents off the folder. So once again, Copy the entire addons folder from the arma 2 directory, and paste the folder into a empty spot within the OA folder. Then try to activate it under expansions.

Okay I think you probally did a step wrong. Let me ask you something first, do you have steam or retail? If you have retail make sure that BOTH ARMA 2 AND ARMA OA are up to date before you copy the addons file. then Make @dayz in the OA file AND EXTRACT ALL OF THE FILES USING A WINRAR LIKE PROGRAM, this may seem obvious, but I have litterly seen irl friends just pasting the downloads into the folder. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MOD, IF IT DOES NOT WORK YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG. Make sure that the expansions are enabled. Arma wont recognize it magicly. Do not use the shortcut, just enable dayz and arma 2 in the expansions menu. If this doesnt help then tell me what files it says your missing L

Okay start with this; vsync off shadows off post procces off. Still lag after that? Then turn anti-A off and antro filtering off. Still doexnt work? Turn all the grapic settings like terrain and texture to low. Still doesnt work? Then buy a new gpu, 6850 is only 100€ and will improve greatly
