Game Randomly Minimizes, But Can't Get Back?
thatslyb replied to thatslyb's topic in Troubleshooting
GTX 560 TI I've never seen the word taskman anywhere on my windows 7. It says task manager. And yes like I said there is no way to maximize it. It is like the game half crashed. Only the video portion. -
Game Randomly Minimizes, But Can't Get Back?
thatslyb replied to thatslyb's topic in Troubleshooting
Don't know what you mean by taskman. But there is no way to bring the game back up I have tried everything. I need to fix the problem not tape it together lol -
Hey guys. I played around 300 hours 6 months ago and then quit, mostly because I was having an issue where my game was basically crashing. Tried reinstalling and still had issues. Now I come back to play again and it is even worse. After maybe 5-10 minutes this occurs. What happens is my game sort of minimizes. But I can still hear the sounds and still move my player, as reported by my clan, however I can not get the game to come back up. I can alt tab through and still nothing. Clicking does nothing. All I can do is end the process and start over. Does anyone have any ideas?

How are we supposed to play the game right now?

You are testing their zombie difficulty, melee system, and other players are testing guns against you. They want zombies to be practically a death sentence if you have melee weapons and spawn a few of them on you. Problem is right now they can see you unfairly and run through things they shouldn't. So that will get better. The melee weapon hit system is messed up, and will be fixed. But you know what else is going to be fixed? The zombie intelligence. They will be smarter and harder to kill. But you don't seem like you're going to be happy when you have to hide every few seconds to avoid agroing a zombie on your quest for food. You'll no longer agro them unfairly (that last one wasn't too unfair, technically he did see you from across the way when you spawned), but you will agro them by making sounds and if you've got 3 of them on you, you're not going to kill them with a pick axe. They want zombies to be the real danger, not just players. As far as the shotgun goes, of all the things to get mad about, gun physics can really not be one of them, if you truly understand you are testing a game. Lol judging by the end of this post you don't seem to get the concept though. Testing means testing. It doesn't mean "testing the last few details that need to be worked out before launch". It means testing EVERYTHING from zombie spawns to rabbit noises. Right now they haven't yet fixed the zombie agro problem, but they increased the zombie difficulty. Right now you are testing the new difficulty, which will be nice when they fix the agro problem. -
Got bad news for you. As far as cities go, they are planning on making a circle of them. They stated their intention is not to make them only coastal. If you look at the north side of the map, you'll see many grid layouts where future cities and towns will go. And if you look at how they have been adding major cities, it is quite obvious they are attempting to form a circle around the map. They want to spread people out across the map instead of having them bunched up on the coast. The "wilderness" as you may call it in the north part of the map, has roads for a reason. And if you have been paying attention since the game was first made available, there is like a third less forest up there then there used to be. It's only wilderness because the buildings aren't there yet. However, they may expand the map and I believe they stated they would probably do so. You have to figure they are planning wilderness somewhere. You need to also think about the fact they are planning to have 100 players on a server. If you didn't have enough cities, it would literally look and sound like call of duty. That is actually a great idea. Right now it would be pretty dumb, because the game isn't yet "MMO'd" and allows you to jump to whatever server you like. Once they lock everyone to a server, it would make every server a unique experience and make it feel more like your home. Or even if they had like 3 possible layouts, it would still be cool to have some feeling of uniqueness to the map.

Are you implying the point of the game is firefights? You have the wrong game there friend. Eating and drinking from time to time is the game. Surviving is the game. Is starting firefights a viable means of survival?

Log out against the wall. While loading in Sprint and jump into wall or something i dont remember. worked for me

I think there's enough military gear in this game. Is it call of duty or dayz? Go play army man somewhere else

Save The Trees Man! Marginalized Wilderness

Unless they expand the map, the secret bases everyone thinks will exist will unfortunately not exist. They are planning on making servers hold 100 players at a time. And with characters being saved to 1 server, you can expect many more to be playing on the same server. All these people, all these bases, and there is just not really that much room. Not to mention the amount of bandits that will trail you/randomly walk through the forest stumbling upon your camp. Bases are good. But I have a feeling they don't plan to make it where you're going to stash 50 mosins and live the life of a farmer for 6 months. -
Can you explain the physics behind these anti gravity bullets? Was the gun applying this anti gravity force to them? lol. I didn't mean sights were wrong. The sight is supposed to be like that for long range shooting. On real life long range scopes, many have yardage readings above the center crosshair. That is because if the crosshair is set to hit dead on at lets say 1000 yards, the bullet will be traveling upwards until it peaks its arc a short time right before 1000 yards. Think of it this way, if you want to throw a baseball really far, do you throw it completely straight, or do you throw it in an arc, tossing it toward the sky? Same concept applies to bullet trajectory.

Regular and hardcore are not really meant to be difficulty levels. The only difference is hardcore must be played in first person so third person "cheating tactics" as some view them as can not be used. When you spawn, head for the coast and figure out where you are. There are very few spawns more then a few hundreds feet from the coast. Then there is no way you couldn't find eachother. Just run the tracks till you hit eachother. Also, the reason you can't spawn as a group is it doesn't make sense. The story goes you randomly wash up on the beach and the world is in turmoil. Everything after that is a story you create. It is a realistic survival game. Things like maps and zombies that aren't a big threat and people always being friendly are no where near realistic. You need to understand the genre of game you are playing. It is meant to be a hard game. That's why they make it and that's why most people started playing it. Also, just wanted to point out after reading another post of yours, your screen turns gray due to blood loss ( as I think you know). Your blood comes back if you are healthy, well fed, and hydrated. When you spawn with nothing, zombies are supposed to be a huge danger. The game is intended to be realistic in the sense that before finding weapons, supplies, or anything else (including friends located across the country), your immediate need is locating food and drinking water, as you wake up on the beach starving and thirsty. If you eat a good amount of food and drink a good amount of water, a little blood loss will not be a big deal as long as you bandage quickly. Also, once you get with your friends and start finding supplies, carrying a bag of your own blood with you will be invaluable. If you go unconcious due to blood loss, or just need to fill your blood up quickly, your friend can give you the blood via an IV. It's important to not mix the bags up though, as there are many different blood types, as in real life, and if you get the wrong type you will die. (besides the exceptions that are compatible with others, like in real life. I don't know them off hand) You can of course find blood test kits, but it is much more efficient and worthwhile in general to just carry your own blood with you, so when you need it they can just take it out of your bag and administer it to you. (you will need an IV kit to administer it though). Adding one more thing after reading further, I'm glad you tried the game and like some aspects, but you are only going to frustrate yourself hoping for it to get easier. It will get easier in the sense that over time you will learn locations and it will be easier to find eachother, you'll know the good spots to look for supplies and weapons and such, and things like that. But surviving and zombies are only going to get more difficult. You are correct that the game will be getting much better as it gets closer to release. But this actually means it will be HARDER. They have stated they wish to make zombies much more deadly. (most people consider them more of a nuisance or ignore them completely as they are) Not only more deadly, but they are going to add large groups of them instead of lone zombies, make them more numerous, and make them more reactive to sound and smarter in general. For instance, they want the game to get to the point where shooting a gun near a city or town will probably result in the death of anyone in it that doesn't have a large enough group to fend them off. Also the health system. Besides blood loss, they are going to add a number of ailments and diseases into the game. There is alot of medical supplies that does nothing right now, but eventually these will be valuable for surviving. Many things in this game are going to get more difficult. Right now, after you play for a while, you'll learn zombies are no real threat if you know how to run or have a gun. Sickness, hunger, and dehydration are no issue. Players are the only real danger in this game. They intend to make zombies and basic necessities like water and medical supplies the real challenge in the game. On top of players robbing you for these now valuable resources. By the way, If you don't already know, you can drink water out of wells and ponds to get fully hydrated right now with no risk of disease. In the future you will need to purify all water besides bottled water or risk disease. There is a great video explaining how the hunger and thirst systems work and the math and reasoning behind it(everything from how to know how full you are to how much blood gets regenerated at each level or how many calories are in a can of beans). You should definitely give it a watch. I'm sure a simple search will turn it up, I can't get to it at the moment.

They will never add an in game map or way of you knowing where you are at all. Zombies are severly underpowered, they want you to be terrified of attracting zombies. When they actually work on zombies, they are going to be smarter, more powerful, and a ton more of them. they are not going to make a casual version. Why did you and your friends choose this game to play? This game is intended to be a realistic zombie apocalypse SURVIVAL game. People can shoot you if they want. There's no in game map because in real life you don't wash up on a beach with a gps. And zombies are a deadly thing. They caused an apocalypse. Only thing they will fix is the headshot thing. Headshots with most viable weapons do kill zombies, but the melee system is off. When you are aiming for the head the game doesn't register as it aiming for the head. I have a feeling you are a troll though because I feel no one who was looking for these things would have decided to play this game unless they didn't know what a survival game was.

Just want to add here that a bullet traveling up (rising) at a certain distance has everything to do with how your scope or sight is aligned and not really much to do with the gun.

Are you new to the game? I was like this at first. But after a few times gearing up you realize how quick you can gear when you know where to go. And you also realize you don't need most of the stuff you consider "valuable" and will just stop looking for it. You need to be killed. Honestly. Then you'll start realizing most of the stuff you'll never use and you won't care anymore To be fully geared, in my opinion and most others, if full camo, a main weapon with an attachment, a water bottle or canteen, bandages, a blood bag, a side arm, a melee weapon, and that is pretty much it. Binoculars also very very handy. Everything else for the most part is pointless. Epi pen and morphine are important, but they're fairly rare and aren't worth looking for. All of these things can be found in a couple of runs through an airfield. Will take maybe an hour or 2 tops. edit: Just saw you posted your gear. Not sure what you are afraid of. You really don't have all that much stuff. If you are new to the game, you will never learn how easy it is to gear if you don't die. To find what you have takes maybe 5-10 minutes of looting once you reach an airfield. You don't need to take every bullet you find. Only take the rounds you need for your main weapon and your pistol. Unless you are holding onto rounds for a friend, but get an ammo box. Don't fill your entire pack with bullets. Also, don't carry food with you there is no point. Just eat all food you find on the spot. It doesn't go to waste. All it does is take up space in your inventory. Why do you need 2 compasses? And clips for a weapon you don't have? Ammunition for a weapon you don't have? There's no reason to be attached to what might as well be garbage to you lol.

Suicide is realistic. People commit suicide. Many people upon waking up in such a world would opt out like that. They should allow us to shoot our selves in the head.
