    More Protection and Cover

    I very rarely get into combat because I use cover well and see what's around me also if I do find myself wanting to take that shot and I miss I want to present the smallest target possible. Just my opinion but as it's a sand box game the more options the better though as I said before I think locking into cover or sliding in is a bit excessive there should be some level of skill. A deeper cover system would be a nice option to have even if every one didn't use it.

    Recharging weapon cleaning kits and other items

    I'm not familiar with that game but looks like a good system to me looking forward to them adding weight to items (if they do, I think they will) so you are slowed by a heavy pack.

    I'm going to quote myself here but I saw someone post some where else the arma 3 stances and they look pretty good for making the most of cover they had prone, kneeling, standing and two transitions between prone and kneeling and two between kneeling and standing not too sure how you control it in game but it would be good if you find yourself behind something which is between heights.

    I haven't been playing DayZ long or using this forum that long ether. But from what I have learned that the play styles are the obvious Bandit, Hero, Medic and good old fashioned Survivor. Due to my lack of experience I may have missed one or two. Here comes my point ( obviously the game is still in Alfa) as there are not that many choices in SA at the moment kit wise it is a little restrictive to how imaginative you cam be with load outs. What I am interested in and quite possibly the developers too, is how would you like to play the game maybe you want to play a different way but can't due to restrictions or stick with how you are going at the moment with a few more tweaks hear and there and what would you like to have implemented into the game to make it possible therefor more rewarding/immersive. Please don't make this a weapons wish list there are other threads for that. Think outside the box a bit and let me know your style and what would make Your day to day Dayz life that bit better.

    I guess didn't put much thought into that bit I guess medics are a different type of hero or a role defined within a group. So how do you play and what you would like to see changed to make the game better for you?

    Missed the last bit of your message for some reason. I like that idea that would be good wouldn't need as much beans and water too :) and like you said you could be a man mountain too if you wished.

    It may sound like I am contradicting myself a bit but I do agree with you on what you are saying but I'm hoping a few people post on this thread some really good/interesting ideas that maybe no one else has thought about the more options out there the more people can chose to or not to do. Some one posted about modular pooches on your back pack and chest rig which would bring a nice bit of customisation to your gear and character.

    You want a skill tree. Haven't played bf4 so not familiar with it but it would be nice to be rewarded for staying alive and it to compliment how you play. Would you like to be able to customise it yourself or just have it naturally evolve behind the screens?

    Why not have larger back packs as an option, cold be interesting if in a group you could set up a trade point extra space means more stuff to trade or store. I think more options can't be bad I see stuff I don't want or need all the time that doesn't mean someone else wouldn't want it. Also with talk of persistent back pack it means more space at you're cash.

    It would be awesome to be able to grow your beard it would be a mark of how long your character has been alive. As for being able to force shave! Maybe that could get rid of the KOS mentality. Having beard shaved of could be potentially worse than death or castration. And as for it being discriminating to female players maybe maybe they could get a hairy leg / arm pit option :/

    I think locking yourself into cover wouldn't fit the game. Any way you can lean so you make use of what cover you have.

    The Soviet Connection.

    I am pretty crap with any non British military gear to be honest. But I think as every one else has been saying that it should be more Russian orientated. What I would like find out law wise is chenarus meant to be the point of origin or very near to the point of origin of the out break? If so I can see there being an opertunity to have lots of options for different country's equipment about maybe chuck in some PBs in the woods and check points in villages where you can find that nationalitys equipment plus soviet or Russian stuff there too to show them working together. For me I would like to be chilling round with a SA80 just as a bit of patriotism. I haven't played the mod so am not aware of any back ground storey so I could be pissing in the wind here a bit with his poste.

    No player list and no # of players when joining server.

    I like the idea but it may be a bit full on for some. A variation on your idea maybe a sort of traffic light system could be interesting so green light for up to one third of the server is full amber for up to two thirds and red two thirds to full in game and when choosing your server and addition of the no entry sign red circle with the line through it. Thinking about it this defeats the object of your idea a bit maybe split the sever 50 50 green for les than half full and red for more. It is nice to have some sort of indication of howmany people are on it is boring as hell on an empty server.
  18. This all seems to me to be down to personal opinion. And in my opinion this would be a very boring game without the wide variety of play styles. Wouldn't it be dull if everyone was friendly there wouldn't be a point in having guns and it really would be a walking and eating simulator. The only things I find hard to like is killing fresh spawns and combat loging what's the point if you want to fight pick a real fight not a walk over even if the new spawn is a ungeared bandit or hero or whatever side of the moral fence you are and combat logging you know who you are and you are lame C U Next Time S stand and fight especially if you started it it's not that hard to out manover someone of retreat if you don't like where it's going don't just vanish plus it's not that hard to gear up. I am looking forward to seeing what features they implement in the future and how that effects peoples play style eg make it harder to survive via disease and harder and more Zombies making it more attractive to play in groups and harder to camp and make the center of the map moor attractive.

    Sleeping bags and tarps vs camps

    I really like the idea of having camps in the future but don't like the idea of being stuck to that server I was thinking maybe it would work well if you could have a role mat sleeping bag and tarp that you carried with you and if you want storage in the game you could have a crate that you bury in the map with x amount of slots in it for storage. So you have your camp on your back and the crate followed you through servers and stayed in the same spot chances are no two people would have the same locations for there chest. And maybe add a larger back pack to accommodate the sleeping bag and the rest of it maybe a British bergan or other similar back pack would do. Any contributions. Also never played the mod so don't know the features from that.

    Haha I mean that the the stuff followed you to whichever server you were on so only the amount of players on the server would have the buried crates a bit like persistent back packs but harder to find or impossible. I agree with you on staying on the same server but if it is full when you want to play it can be a bit of a pain I seem to juggle between three servers which are fairly full not much of a challenge on an empty server.

    Self-suicide/suicide abuse and map spawning

    On a few occasions I have wanted to commit suiside in this game usually down to breaking my leg in the middle of banjo country for no apparent reason without the resorces to fix it or being able to get hold of someone to fix it or finish me off on those occasions I was not a fresh spawn and was relatively well armed so had a fair bit to lose on the first occasion I had to crawl for about half an hour to the neraist village and get beaten up by zombies and the second time I had to crawl for about an hour or so! Both very boring! Would be nice to hide your kit some ware and top yourself. I couldn't care less about a login penalty for suiside if it was implemented becaus it would be preferable to crawling round fo god knows how long.
