Not sure why I find that funny but it did make me chuckle.

Lots of countries call it Soccer. Even the UK do. Just another name for football really. I guess non UK countries who do call it soccer have other 'footballs' as a national sport, as Gridiron in the states and AFL in Australia for two examples of the top of my head.
