    New hobby: working for others

Thank you Kirov. I've killed a pig and after that my available slots were filled with a lot of meat and a big skin that said something like wild boar skin or something. I have not cooked the meat because i think i need a gas stove, but next time i will, to see how it goes. Also one other night i've met a whole herd of cows that were running like crazy chicken when they saw me.

    New hobby: working for others

@ Irish: i have found several hats if you are referring to the cowboy ones... will get one for you. @McWendy: i have one green, pristine(i've had 2 of them both green and pristine but i've had to let one go), just give me a bit of time to catch up. It's Christmas eve here and wife has a lot of demands (most of them legit)
  5. Hell yeah! Just remembered...seems like a life time ago... Because of Dayz i've bought the latest model of ASUS ROG at that time: G750 and added a "monster" SSD drive to be on the safe side. And i am so happy because of that too! Incredible machine. Irish, i've tried to message you on my first day back, but you can't receive messages it seems. Please add QAVRO to your steam friends so i can meet you again.
  6. First of all, i must apologize this must be sort of long post... I have to start by telling that i don't play. Ever. At the begining of this year i was reading around the net "targetless". Just trying to relax. I've read about dayz by chance and pure luck. The concept sound new to me and interesting to say the least. I have a military backround. Some that the western people use to call "sniper" but in my country the term was different. I am an outdoor kind of man by nature. I thought that this "game" could be something i can try considering all the facts, so i bought it and started to play with the version .31 or so. Kept playing till .42. In that period of time i've realised quite fast that there are little things to do and while i don't blame any kind of players (including hackers, loggers or Kos'ers) none of them were something that i would like to do (please keep in mind that i am talking only about myself). So, after i reached around 150 hours i thought i would like to help people. Medics were really established by then and i thought "what good will do one more medic here?". So, i have decided to bring them what they can't find. By any means that means i was able to find anything...no. But sometimes i've got lucky and some item that does not mean anything to me could be usefull to somebody else. So i've started a topic here (should be burried probably) telling people that i can meet with anybody on their own terms to give them what they want. Of course that some thought can be a trap, others told me that i will be killed instantly (which never happened by the way) and some other different considerations. Nonetheless i've hold my ground and started. The very first person who trusted me was IRISH. He met me in a remote area where i give him an item he was looking for. Then we've met again. But that very first encounter on this terms gave me the reason to keep doing so. He is an incredible person and i don't care how is he behaving on his own playstyle, with me he was true to his word and did not kill me. As i have explained in my said topic, even being killed (i've assumed it will happen) will not matter that much because i can start over. Sometimes finding what people wanted took me days, other times just hours. To the topic now: after several months not playing due to personal reasons, i've started again in the same night with .52 stable release, the night with DDoS attack. Of course i have lost my both characters (hardcore and regular) and i started again from scratch. After couple of hours i've met a guy in a city up north (that i have never seen before) inside a firestation. He was armed and did not see me. I was armed too but my goal on this phase of the game is not to kill people. Is still no reason for me to do it...FOR ME, remember. So i crouched and said hi. He said Hi too and went outside fast. I've asked him if he needs anything but he said no. I bet he was confused by the tone he had :) Then i said Ok and leave. Amazingly enough he did not try to shoot me either... Several hours later i was on a RP server (yeah, right) where from time to time the message from server said something like (behave, we have active admins, no KOS, etc etc etc) when i logged in were 23 players on that server and i was up north. Started my way dow to SW in hope that i will reach that Mishiko base or whatever that name is because during my hours in game i've noticed that there is some shortage on magazines. I've arrived there and crouched for around one hour watching. Then went inside the base and to my total surprise the base was full with loot. Full does not even describe properly... literally hundreds of pistols, SKS, AK74U, Makarov, compensators, you name it. I don't even want to talk about dozens of military vests, backpacks all of them, smersh, hunting, whatever. So many that when i pressed inventory key, the screen struggled to show me everything... I've took only magazines and watter. When i was about to leave, 2 people rushed inside the same tent i was (officer tent) and i went outside while they were running inside. While i was looking for cover, one of them started to be friendly to me. Shooting me that is. He missed (i am not exactly new at this and i was shot after many times, so you can assume i know what to do when i am under fire). While he was yelling something, his friend kept shooting with a gun that i don't recognize by sound...Might be the AUG though... All this time i was putting distance between them and me. Long story short, i made out alive from there with all magazines i could find (not so many magazines actually compared with the huge amount of guns, especially pistols, and literally tons of 9mm amo, .45, .22 and 380 auto). To the original post : What led me here/now was my meeting with Irish. If he would have killed me (he being the very first encounter in my endeavour) i would have scratched my idea and probably doing something else. But now, no matter how many people would kill me (or try that is) i will keep doing what i do. I wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! P.S. i would do the same "samaritan" thing in a real world like Cherno? Hell no! Even more, i bet i would be one of the last survivors. But for now i will keep dying and start over.

yeah, you must be the guarantee master. "most people" have searched for you their entire life but i can bet my life that you can't "guarantee" shit. you do cry much? seems that you are quite an expert here, purely based on the amount of shit you are able to post in such a short time.

    The great M4 delete

Not trying to add to the already amazing clusterfuck here, but... Offtopic #1: some time ago i was amazed about the "courage" some keyboard warriors can display, especially on game forums, but not limited to. Also i was amazed about how smart and knowledgeable they think they are, and how full of theories and wiki they are. Most of them will spit the heart out of them in the first 10 minutes of real combat. Now i am old, so i got so tired that i am not even amazed anymore. Offtopic #2 my expertise in real firearms is limited to AK + variants, Dragunov, L96/AW and some pistols that are not the object of this topic. Not that AKM is , but was brought into discussion as a comparative "solution" for the M4 variants. The cruel truth about the AK is: the weapon accuracy (assuming a god-like operator behind it) depends A LOT of the manufacturer. Some of them after a clip shot on full auto cannot hit shit over 100 meters other than with pure luck or a real huge target area. Some of them are a shame of the "league and legend" that AK created in terms of reliability. And if i can live long enough i do hope to see someone with an AK being able to put a 3-4 burst in a target over 100 meters. really... /end offtopic while my experience in NATO weapons is limited i will refrain myself to talk about how good or bad is an M4, but from my limited experience (yes i have seen combat, but those of us with comrades killed next to you, found harder to talk about it on a forum about games and entertainment and fun) i can tell you this: M4 is a hell of a rifle in terms of ergonomics. But in the end, the one that actually shots (good or bad) is the man standing behind the rifle, and if he or she is a good one, will use the weapon in it's "working envelope", not trying to hit a fly at 500m with an M4. That's why one of the oldest rule in snipers manual is "know your rifle"... sorry about the derailing. edit: shit... wall of text.

    "Free look" after log out

i've wrote this first to "general discutions" but i was directed here. Long story short: Since when we log out we can't do shit for 30 seconds and the character sits in game but dead in the water, would not be possible/better to enter in "free look" for 30 seconds instead of instant seeing the servers list? This way you can actually see if you were an idiot logging (bad time, bad location, etc) or you were actually "reset by server" as some people claims...
  11. I have a small question/idea. Since when we log out we can't do shit for 30 seconds and the character sits in game but dead in the water, would not be possible/better to enter in "free look" for 30 seconds instead of instant seeing the servers list? This way you can actually see if you were an idiot logging (bad time, bad location, etc) or you were actually "reset by server" as some people claims...

    Small question/idea about logging out

i have over 250 hours myself and i have never seen a character reset in stable or exp, but the question still stands.

    BattleEye Admin Ban?

Not exactly 100% related, but someone might enlighten me... If i get kicked from a server, the last server used is the first one in history list?
  15. I have seen more posts with your exact words than posts with what OP said... This is sad, i thought i know swedish people better than this, but i was wrong.
  16. i think i was the one he killed... P.S. i was alone because i am always alone. Do not worry, no one hates you, it's just a game. I have noticed on this forum that people generally tend to worry to much over something that is basically an entertainment platform.

Dayz in five words or less

Frustration paid with cash. managed to have only 4 words it seems :))
  19. For F*ck Sake Electi, can you be more boring than this? Unless you are drunk or dyxlexic. What is wrong with this community? I don't get it... One single question and some of the most intelligent people (that ever roamed the earth) are jumping high with some pre-written answers that are not even remotely related to the question asked. The OP asked something that was 100% technical and you answer "don't get attached to your gear, go find food" and al that non related shit? WTF?! Are you under-aged or just slow by design? P.S. For the moderators: i deserve my warnings, and to be honest i am proud to wear them if this is how this forum should "evolve". God help us...

    What are the odds?

you lost me here because you said: I heard my friend say "You know there's a guy pointing a gun at you, right", so I turned around, scared, I didn't have time to react. I drew my SKS and let loose five rounds in quick succession. He fell, we both shot the guy at the same time(my friend was actually behind him). I was not expecting that, I feel bad because maybe the guy was gonna let me pass :( so.. he never shot, did he? he might just wanted to keep an eye on you, but since he never actually shot, but you and your friend did.. who started the hostilities actually? this, or i am really "slow"...

    Ghillie suit, rangefinder ?

p.s. another thing i wanted to mention is that a ghilie suit should NOT be made of rare items.at all... a ghilie is incredible easy to make but it does take A HUGE amount of time if you want to bet your life on it. just another 2 cents.

    Infinite Mosin Ammo

i have one too. looks really bad (damaged) but it never ends. found it on police station, first floor.

    Ghillie suit, rangefinder ?

A ghilie suit can be used even at over 40 degrees celcius.i did it and most probably i will do it again. People tend to believe that a sniper job is to get there, hide and wait for hours. While this may be sometime true, the emphasis should fall on "get there", a part way harder than most people think. But that's beyond op. i am all in favour of ghilie suit. on second thought, i've always tend to believe that the zeds in dayz just hear and see very well. so, a ghilie might not be a bad idea if implemented correctly (thirst coming faster when you wear it, limited speed depending on rain/wet, etc etc)
