Hello! I bought standalone early 2014 and had to off gaming in general for 2 years (ish) around 2014 autumn blabla etc. I thought it would be nice after that amount of time to check how is my fav game improving, but i faced something i can't figure out. I installed the game through Steam and did "delete local content" multiple times but the game still says to me that it's version is 0.50 something(yes zero point five zero). I tried to google it and found a toggletool or whatever it's called but it didn't help. After that i tried the experimentaI branch but aftr the installation battleye got in an infinite loop or something strange: Told me 20+ times that service installation is succesful and still wanted to start the installer. I guess i missed many things in the last two years so please help me. Thank you very much!

Is there a topic where we can continue the discussion about stanima? I couldn't find one.
-
How much (more) time would satisfy you and your rational gameplay enforcement ?

Topic: +1 Off and response: stanima lovers: atm svetlo -> NWAF around 10Km in a straight line. I can make it 45-30 min depends on mood and navigation. How long should it take guys ? 2-4 hours like in reality ? player1: Hey i played Dayz 4 hours last night player2: Cooool how was it? player1: run, walk, rest, run, walk, rest... but finally i made it to the Airport player2: Cool i will go there next month we should team up and survive Yaaaay! It's just me, but i think stanima has no place in a computer game. With a serious stanima model you only punish casual players. DayZ is a time consuming game right now far enough for me.

Wallets and Player Identification - Dog-Tags and Russian Ruble -
amikron replied to TrampledByTurtles's topic in Suggestions
Wallets, dog-tags, passport, driving license i don't really care if I can throw it away in the first second I respawn(in that case these things are welcome otherwise not ). Why? Because I like to keep low profile. I don't want to tell my name every stranger I meet on my journeys and I like to keep it to myself. In this game you can't be sure who is the bad guy. Only 10 sec late in different situations can lead to misunderstanding. Gain trust -> get intel but forced-built-in ID things is a big NO for me. "Check Pulse" should not reveal the victims name too. The only thing you need to become a server admin is money. There is no other requirement. Different communities have different codes for it to avoid admin abuse which is good. But in general admins are people too and part of them are assholes. Just like in any other game. So I'm definately against any kind of tool that reveals any information about your steam account. 2.5 million "alpha tester" so far. Just think about how many poorly secured PCs are out there. Yes kick or ban should affect your steam account on a particular server but an admin should never be able to look up a player's steam account. -
Possible workaround for "Random 10-30 min disconnects/losing connection"(need feedback!): story: my friend was experiencing this issue and he decided to reinstall his whole system (format c:). It worked for him so i started to think about a less brutal method. Battleeye was suspicious so i searched everything about battleeye failures related to DayZ SA. Workaround: Step1: remove the game through steam -> Delete Local content (maybe its not necessary but i did that) Step2: remove Battleeye folders. I followed the instructions of this reddit conversation: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/21nm1s/battleye_continuously_updating_for_anyone_else/ Step3: Install the game through Steam Step4: Enjoy It worked for me(2.5 hour continous gameplay) so give feedback about this workaround even if its not OK for you. (grammar nazis are welcome)

AK101 Guide | Loot Location, Attachments, Recoil, Damage & Comparison to M4A1/AKM
amikron replied to aggathor's topic in Gallery
Absolutely true. According to wikipedia different m4 variants have 700-950 rounds/min range rate of fire and mp5k series 900 rounds/min. According to Aggathor's MP5 guide (0.96 sec/15 round mag) lets say 15 round(*60) mag/1 sec(*60) = 900 rounds/60sec which is just about right. So m4 should finish a 30 round mag in 2.57sec-1.89sec range (700-950 rpm) Based on these numbers the m4 should absolutely compete with mp5k in rate of fire. Can someone test it? I threw away my m4 when the akm arrived but as far as i remember m4's rate of fire is not even close to that(but maybe im wrong). (sry about bad english, im working on it) -

DayZ Unplayable (Hackers, Buggers, Glitchers) Video
amikron replied to Toperek1990 (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
Yes, Cheaters/Hackers are annoying and ruining game experience like in any other game. But i think this is not the right time to get rid of those problems. If i were the leader or the responsible person for this stuff i would gather information in this period and later make a plan based on the feedbacks. As dean said somewhere the best way to fight against cheating is the structure(like any other software). This game is soo f* complex and the basic mechanics are not even finished. You just simply can't tell what will happen when you insert a new stuff, event or anything else. A simple character or typo can open unforseen backdoors. So you simply can't structure it well without knowing what will be exactly there. Some of the cheats can be eliminated by a big remastering the structure of the software client and server side. But there are or will be some cheats/glitches has to be taken care one-by-one. Rewising hundreds of thousands of lines billions of characters, thousands of objects (and maybe multiple languages, compilers and so on) and figuring out where is the backdoor that let an unexpected event happen is a pretty hard work. I can tell you "debugging" any kind software is a real pain in the ass. For example this camo/prison building. If you remaster the building like you make a proper room for every window there will be no space for some of the glitches. But after that you have to deal with the ability of seeing through walls. That's not the only building where you can see through walls, so maybe they have to dig deep down to identify the core of the problem and get rid of it properly. I can't blame the devs for they are not focusing on these issues right now. Later on beta or near 1.0 i will, but right now i just play the game for fun and get over those cheating/hacking/glitching *ssholes. P.S.: there is a new military compund near NE airstrip with new barracks building, so they didn't remove the mil buildings for balance (sry about bad english, grammar nazis are welcome!)
