No it should be a hunting weapon for small game(pigs, rabbits, ETC) -
The fact that they would complain about fucked mechanics and unfinished content just makes it worse(we all do at some point, but at least some of us realise the the importancy of a polished game on release).

so its a bit slower to axe a zombie, so what? axes are 1 hit kills to zombies anyways and 2-4 hits for another player.
