Hey guys! I've played 275 hours of Arma 2: CO, with about 250 of that being on DayZ. It's became my most played game on Steam! I've always played on the lowest settings despite having a good rig, as Arma 2 isn't greatly optimised. I always get 60 FPS without any problems. Recently, I was playing on roleplaying servers, and of course they suffer from FPS problems, leading me to usually only get around 20-30 FPS even on the lowest settings because of the busy map! That's perfectly fine, and I'm used to it. But yesterday, I joined a RP server (after just leaving another without any problems) and encountered terrible lag! I had input lag, and general game lag, and I was only getting 3-4 FPS. I left the match, thinking it was the server, only to find that even in the main menu, I was lagging. I've heard of people having this problem, and I've found that I'm getting 3-4 FPS on the menu and in-game on all of Arma 2's components! I reinstalled every Arma 2 game overnight, but as soon as I launched barebones Arma 2 this morning, I found I was still getting 3-4 FPS in the menu :(. Can anyone help a player in distress? Arma 2, CO, and DayZ all have super lag. Why is this?
linkybaa replied to Nicoly's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Got this too. Played for 250 hours with no problems and 60 FPS on decent settings, but I joined a server and I was getting terrible lag, and I left the server, but I still get the lag. It's across all of the Arma games related to Arma 2. -
Need help - Friend can't run OA without giant amounts of lag
linkybaa posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
He can run other games perfectly fine, getting 60fps on Skyrim with high settings, but no matter what the settings are on Arma, he lags. Even in the main menu, he only gets a few frames. We've tried hyperthreading, changing launch options, restarting, running as admin, reinstallation, changing settings, downloading drivers, windowed mode etc. but nothing's been working! Can anyone help? -

Check the specs, he's capable of running. It turns out when he runs it, it uses 100% of his CPU. How can he fix this? -

What info would you like? He's perfectly capable of running the game, dual core @3.0GHz, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5700 with 1GB VRAM. Not the best card, but it does the job. -
Do NOT switch out your clothing

No' date=' this is a specific issue that rocket is urgently trying to address. [/quote'] I meant old bug as in it's been around for a while :) Actually, it was fixed. This is a new issue in 1.7.2 -
I've heard about 50% of the time that it's not possible, but sometimes I hear that it is. Can anyone confirm that it's possible, as I may buy Arma 2 OA for a friend, but I cannot afford Arma 2. It says on the ARMA 2 Free website: 'minus the campaign, HD graphics and support for user-made addons and mods.' Also, if it's possible, do you just use the demo version of Arma 2 on Steam for the free version?

Can I go back to the previous version of DayZ I was on?
linkybaa posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Today I replaced the necessary DayZ files with the ones required for 1.7.1, but I've decided to wait until the FPS issues etc. are fixed, and so I want to play my previous version. I can't undo the move and replace, so is there anyway I can restore my previous version? The recycle bin doesn't have the version there :(! The lack of replies is disturbing... Anyone? -
Everytime I get to around halfway in the 'Recieving Data' loading screen, a message pops up to inform me that I'm either missing Heat Packs or the Hatchet from my configuration or something along those lines. In the game, I also cannot see Hatchets and Heat Packs, but my friends can. I've reinstalled the mod many times, to no avail. How can I fix this annoyance? All the best!
