PC Shutting down completely when playing DayZ

Ok I've been thoroughly investigating this and it seems like a known issue with msi gt780dxr laptops (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=162440.0) BUT I've figured out specifically my issue: I got a replacement battery recently and while that is plugged in and charging i get temps of 69-70c+ when charging and just normal surfing. I put the old defective battery in and kept it plugged in and now I'm running at 45c. My shutdowns only happened after I used the new battery. I'm still going to follow the advice in the the link I posted above because I'm not getting the performance I expect but I can't solely blame dayz for my issues. The reason your pc is shutting down is your gpu is overheating and shuts down to protect itself. (Just thought I'd post a follow up just in case any others googled similar issues) @Darth: Not sure that's directed at me but no, I haven't played experimental recently. edit: I go from 48c to 97c after 10 mins of play

    DayZ shuts down computer

exact same has started happening to me: msi gt780dxr, i7-2680qm, nvidia gtx 570m 1.5 gb gddr5, 8gb ram I thought it was me messing up the launch parameters but it happens without them too. Also it seems to be happening to a lot of people. While the game is in alpha how about people reporting bugs are taken seriously instead of this current idea where we blame them not the alpha.

PC Shutting down completely when playing DayZ

This has started happening to me now. I'm guessing it's related to adding launch options Going to try without these: -winxp -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -maxMem=7192 -maxVram=1024 edit: i think my issue is related to the nvidia update
