Ever had a positive experience with hackers?

It sounds like a "good DayZ hacker" is like an old school D&D "dungeon master" who guides you in a story, versus trolling the server with dancing scripts. I have yet to encounter this.

    Thanks to a thoughtful survivor...

He said (and I believe) that he was startled -- I don't think he was unfairly trigger happy :) I would never normally log out in the shower stall @ an airfield (way too hot), but I think one of my kids was yelling for my help IRL when I did and it was a couple of days later when I returned. It was funny. There I am standing in the shower, I hear that ominous "clanking" footstep sound and the door swings open. It seemed like time slowed down and "Kush" did a triple-take. I think I was reaching for F2 when -- "brrrrp...brrrp!" -- "You are unconscious." I felt like Will Ferrell in Austin Powers ;"OW! I'm still alive, but very burnt!" I didn't get all pissed and vengeful. I just said something about my bad luck having just returned after a couple of days. How I was unconscious and would be grateful for some assistance. He was cool. Anywho, just a fun experience. Cheers
  3. I just wanted to share one of those "great experiences" on DayZ. So I log in, and I had abruptly logged out a few days earlier in the NWAF, so I'm in the barracks bathroom and within 10 secs I'm shot dead by "Kushinji"(?). I'm unconscious, so I plead for some assistance. What a guy. He proceeds to take time to revive me and send me on my way. He mentioned he was recording for his YouTube channel, but I haven't been able to find him. A shout-out to my hero. I hope one day I can see the video of me pleading for help :)
  4. Does the "bug" go both ways? That is, is "blurriness" itself currently buggy (I can have the blurriness after one hit by a zombie right after spawning) as well as the ability to "lose the blur" by going to the config? I assumed it was a bug (a Mac-graphics one, as I imagine we are a tiny minority) as it happened so quickly and went from crystal-clear to unidentifiable with so little "damage." Cheers
  5. Not sure if it is what you are experiencing, but often, after being injured by a zombie, my screen goes "blurry," but a quick trip to the config/video settings "restores" the correct "non-blurry" view. I am pretty sure it is a bug, but it makes melee difficult. I have to run my ass off to get enough of a lead to do the "fix."
