Are they serious with these new pistol spawns?
Forrelist replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
I made a thread discussing the abundance of pistols, but not their corresponding magazines. I agree that this is a problem , but I think saying " idiotic dayz developers" is quite disrespectful. You think they aren't aware that there are issues? -
What clothing set/weapons would you add if you could?

Hi there, this is going to be a long post, so bear with me. It's maybe time to discuss how serious a problem this is becoming. I have reported two servers that my group has played on where there have been serious cases of admin abuse and there has been no action on these three weeks later. I won't disclose any server information, but we are well aware of the servers at hand (one of them has changed name recently though) Abusive Server #1: The first server that we reported could have just been a normal server. It didn't have the "Join and get kicked " message that normally precludes these servers. We were playing for around 1 hour and encountered a player in the barracks at Balota airstrip. He simply said, don't come in here, or else. Of course we thought it was just idle threats, one of my friends shot the guy through one of the windows and knocked him unconscious. As we went in to loot him, every single one of us got kicked from the server. Not only that , but we discovered that the entire server had been kicked too. Fucking great. The guy had tried to save his character and just booted the server empty. This was the first one that was reported. It is still online three weeks later. Anyone could be playing it right now, unaware that the Admin is an abuser. Abusive Server #2: The second server was a little less populated, again, there was no indication of what was to come from the server name, it just seemed like a normal server. It was around 15/40 players. It was just me and one other guy from my group playing, and we happened to be in Elektro. My friend encountered a player in the power plant firestation. He started to communicate with the player after they had a little firefight, and he tried to reason with the guy who was climbing the stairwell. As soon as my friend typed into chat and revealed his name, he was kicked. I was still catching up, but I heard the gunshots from quite far. Right enough the admin had kicked him in order to win the gunfight. I didn't get there to see his corpse (I got killed), but when he logged back in, his character had been killed and he had respawned far away. These two scenarios are absolutely gamebreaking. I am so surprised that these two servers are still running. It seems as though our complaints to the server providers had not been taken seriously (we have screenshots, time and date logs as well as the server addresses and names that they have used) . I think this raises an important question: Is it even worth reporting these servers at all?

Are abusive servers really being taken seriously?
Forrelist replied to Forrelist's topic in General Discussion
You COULD do whatever you want, but what would be the point? the rules are only there to prevent scenarios such as the above, and to stop private loot farms. No people on their server is also the main idea. They get full military gear, Mosins with the sniper scopes, m4's with huge stacks of ammo and then they go to Elektro on a busy 35/40 server and wreck everybody else. -
I still don't like how weak the .22 Sporter is. It just doesn't feel right. I want it to feel like it does damage, but I just can't justify ever taking it. The new fast zombies are interesting, but I don't think they should have been changed until their pathfinding and ability to slide through walls is fixed. Combine this with mouse acceleration and it can be just damn annoying trying to shoot them when they get right next to you. It's clunky and they just jolt around you in circles, hitting you in weird ways. I DO like that there are more weapons, that there is a lot less lag, desync isn't as common and that I'm not disconnnecting every 5 minutes. The new areas on the map are fantastic and brilliant, and I like that the exisiting towns have new additions such as police stations and medical centers. It's like I'm still discovering new things abou the map all the time.

Are abusive servers really being taken seriously?

We came up with an idea where, any time an Admin has to kick somebody, they have to type out a small message explaining why. This will then be stored in a database that contains all the kick reasons for that server. If the server is abnormally high for kicking, or all the messages seem suspicious it is investigated by providers. -
Fucking glitchy zombies. Fucking Fuck!

Why kill someone and not loot them?
Forrelist replied to BiGoDeViN (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Maybe he got spooked, Maybe he died by someone elses hands not long after, maybe his internet dropped or maybe he just likes to have a good fight. So many variables. -
Seriously, I highly recommend that anyone looking for the most 'genuine' experience to try playing on experimental for a while. You encounter people in all the small towns, You have to really try to get loot and explore. Server hopping is pretty useless because all the servers are mostly full. (due to the fact there are considerably less servers than stable) In my opinion this is the DayZ experience that we will hopefully see on stable one day. You should always be in fear for your life, every town should be taken with caution and you should expect to encounter other players everywhere - including random fields and all those backwater towns. You really value your loot and gear as well, because it is a lot harder to get and it is well-earned. It reminds me of the mod in its early days. The encounters feel much more interesting and you get a real buzz from the fights that happen. Try it. EDIT: It's all fun and games but If you do decide to try this, please, please don't forget to report any new bugs that you discover on experimental, as well as how to recreate them, it helps everyone!

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Uhm. what. Not even going to back that up ? My entire clan carries two primaries all the time. I do it. Some people even try to carry three using an exploit lol.

That last picture is like a tall/skinny Pikachu

At least he isn't an arsehole.

You got a problem with funkylada?! what about the mystery machine?
-
Anyone else hide weapons to prevent others from looting them?
Forrelist replied to thequantum's topic in General Discussion
Some people would say that's dickish. I'd say it's a good strategy. First come first serve. -
Here's hoping funkylada makes it back in :D

Imo the hue looks slightly yellowed to me. Like it has been edited in to the picture. Saying that , it could just be branches or a hedge.

Your quickbar says: 'I pickup every weapon ever'

Bloody game always makes me choose..Oh you have an M4 with ACOG? here have an LRS!
-
Most people tend to carry two primaries which results in a slower running speed. Thus they get raped by the new zombies and are forced to fight or get smackdowned

I noticed the same, servers take a little longer to load, but overall I'm getting less lag.

Took a trip up to the tents and found nothing, still broken it seems

Food and drink system needs to change!
Forrelist replied to ThatBritshGuy's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't mind spawning in at a 'halfway' level with hunger - not barely above starvation. Aside from that I think it's fine.
