Um. We do not run daytime 24/7 on our server. I just logged into it expecting to play during the night, like I prefer to, and it's still fucking daytime. Shit's pissing me off too and that's why I'm posting about it.

Its been daytime all day and all night on my server for about 18hours. Its still light right now actually. The server's based in Seattle. The fuck?

Well if we want to turn this thread into a "how to use certain words" discussion then allow me to point out, Kopiovastaava, that you misspelled homosexual as homossexual which, unfortunately, isn't a word. Taking that fact into consideration, this conversation is no longer capable of advancing in the direction of word usage because it can't have possibly happened because you, technically, did not ask about my usage of the word gay with the assumption that I used it for its literal meaning and, thus, Nekrage did not respond to you with his comment about butt pirates, so on and so forth and suffice it to say the entirety of this thread from your post about "homossexual" to Nekrage's post about pussy did not happen. Fortunately for the intended purpose of the thread, we can return to discussing map markers and GPS - unless that issue has been completely addressed, in which case we can all stop posting.

[/quote'] I think its important that there is a way, and according to you there is if you shift-leftclick?, to mark off locations on the map that only you can see. It makes sense in a game based around survival that you should be able to mark off locations you deem important so that you can revisit them or warn yourself off from places or whatever.

That shit's fucking gay. When they see my markers they'll see me coming.

I don't see why the hell markings should show up on anyone's map besides your own. Is that honestly intentional? Seems like something that SHOULD be easy to fix if its a bug..

Oh wow. So that's interesting. Good to know how the GPS works now. What about the other stuff?

So I can see my friend's map markings on my map. Why is that? Also, what's the deal with GPS? Can you only see other people with GPS on the map or people in close proximity or something? How's this work? Sometimes random people show up on the map even though I don't have a GPS - why is this? What determines if you see someone on the map or if someone sees you on the map and how does GPS factor into this. Does GPS even have anything to do with seeing people or was I just assuming too much?

What issues are you talking about? I haven't had a chance to play during this patch yet.

So I just updated to the latest .2 patch and now when I connect to a .1 server I get an annoying message that stays in the middle of my screen permanently saying that I'm using the wrong version. In addition, my sound seems to be disabled - presumably as a result of this fact. So I need to wait for my friend's server host provider to update to .2 before I can hear my damn game again? I can't even play on the server he paid for while I wait for the server to be updated? Wtf is this shit?

So wtf? Can I ever go past it if somebody places it down and blocks off important locations?

What do they do? Do they affect zombies at all? What's the deal?

Nevermind. Apparently this is an issue with my server host that is being worked on.

So this definitely helped me apply the beta patch appropriately...but there's a problem. Side channel and global channels are supposed to be disabled with the latest game build and beta patch installed yet, of course, they're still enabled on my server. Wtf? I figured that the problem was that I didn't have the beta patch applied to the server correctly and, thanks to this thread I was just able to do that, and yet these chat channels are still available for use. How do I fix this?
