All private/persistence servers get wiped by BattleEye every Wednesday. This means all things in the world such as tents, backpacks, guns, everything. So since there's nothing we can do to prevent this, we turn persistence off prior to the Wednesday maintenance for a few hours to allow are community a "loot period" in a sense. Persistence will be back on every Wednesday morning at the end of maintenance. Once persistence is truly persistent (no server maintenance wipes), we'll discontinue doing this.

Quite the contrary. Those who use a private server are bound to that one & only server & can't server hop for loot. Therefore, less loot available to us compared to those who play on public servers. Duping is the bigger issue.

I only wish I had been able to participate in the engagement, but unfortunately my time was spent B-lining back to Novy when all of this went down. I was actually thinking of this as well lol. Loads of people own Santa hats, so it wouldn't be unrealistic to find one somewhere such as Chernarus. They serve just as much of a purpose to keep you warm as any other winter hat. Runescape pulled it off really well. Santa hats were worth 2m at one point in that game. (That's 2 million gold for those that don't know, which by Runescapes economy back then was a lot) Anyone who says no to this idea is a Scrooge ;)

Given that I spawn on the South coast.. Elektro > Cherno > Balota > Pavlovo > Zeleno > Green Mtn. > Myshkino Tents > Vybor Mil. Base > NWAF > Bashnya In that order.

Stabbath, I'm strongly convinced that you're trying to join a server too quickly after a server restart. None of our guys have had this issue. After a reset, wait for the server to be on the first minute of the hour before rejoining.

Truck spawns have been reduced to 3 per server, & I believe the potential spawn locations have been reduced as well. With persistence on, loot respawns randomly instead of after a server restart. Search high & low, & frequent places that you usually do, even if you had only checked them 20 minutes ago. Something shiny may have spawned within that small amount of time. ;)
