Once ammo becomes much more scarce, then I say yes; pistols should more likely than not spawn with a mag

I'm not sure if i support this coming to standalone. What would happen when running through the forest & every single tree breaks your line of site with another player? They would look like a strobelight. Especially in stealthier scenarios when trying to hunt & stalk another player by jumping cover to cover. What happens when hiding behind bushes? Things that you could technically still see through in a real life scenario. Would they disappear then as well? Or what about something as thin as a STOP sign post? Would that break line of site? All in all I think that the 3PP is both an advantage & disadvantage when playing regular mode & shouldn't be altered. Changing it would break immersion IMO. I also play hardcore so this doesn't concern me so much. Just my thoughts

Solving problem of kill on sight - Vehicles.

A real hero doesn't seek praise ;) -
We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.
blunce replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
For realism's sake, no. In a real life scenario you wouldn't be able to tell how someone behaves just by their appearence. I think once this game becomes a finished product, there will be "commonly known" outfits for both Heroes & Bandits. -
Now that looting towns is so "risky" due to the Zed threat..
blunce replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
I would say in the game's current state, yes, that is obviously the easier route to gearing. But how did "that player over there" get his loot? Seems rather subjective to me -
To thank the DayZ development team, staff, forum mods, & anyone else applying their time to the game itself &/or the DayZ community that I failed to mention. I'd like to thank you all for your hard work & dedication, your patience & understanding. I see progress being made at a very rapid pace, especially since the DayZ staff go out of their way to communicate with us (the community) & keep us as much up to date as possible in regards to bugs, fixes, changes, shedule, etc. The DayZ team is by no means obligated to keep us in the development loop the way that they do. We need to be thankful we have such a priviledge. Again, the game has made incredible progress from the jump, & I want to make it very clear that it doesn't go unnoticed, at least in my regard. For this I'm extremely thankful, & thankful that we have the priviledge to be a part of this early-access development process. That being said, it is a PRIVILEDGE that we get to be a part of the development process & can so conveniently provide feedback to the devs who actually LISTEN & act accordingly. We need to not abuse this power, & understand that the devs are doing everything in their power to keep us happy. I feel that we, the community, don't show as much appreciation for all their hard work as we should. Keep up the good work everyone, we can't (& don't) thank you enough. I see great things, & am very optimistic for the future of DayZ. Thank You, everyone involved in the project -blunce

Yes, but it's a priviledge to be able to play early access at all, free or not. Although I do see your point; It's a product that we spent our hard-earned money on & it's our right to speak on behalf of it.
-
This actually made me laugh lol :D
-
They don't prioritize these things because it's the adding of new content that creates these bugs. Think of it this way: Would you wipe your ass before or after you took a shit? EDIT: gonna need some ice for those burns.
-
Great contrubution  There is no problem with people picking out flaws in the game, that's the point of this forum, so that we can provide feedback to make the game better. But people questioning & complaining about what the developers decide to prioritize over others is ignorant & nonconstructive EDIT: not pointing any fingers, just speaking out in regards to what I see on here

What we need is the option to commit suicide. & that is only if you have a gun with ammo or a sharp object such as a knife to do so. That would prevent all the bambis from trying to spawn as close as possible to Elektro. Whenever I break my legs I just want to put my .44 to my head

Why did they change everything about zombies but the worst problems?
blunce replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
No, but it does mean he's bitching like one. -
Woo! Can't wait to leave work & play! The more zombies the better
-
I assume this is all on experimental branch?

If grenade's are a rarity, that makes this idea that much better! We don't want tripwires around every single corner :) Metal Gear Solid anyone?
-
I like the idea a lot. But I remember reading somewhere on here that it was said that implementing snow would be EXTREMELY difficult, & would basically require the map to be rebuilt from scratch. But again, I like the idea a lot, I just think it's a huge task for the dev team especially at this point in development.

We need ski-masks, & we should have the option to wear a bandana over our face

What's up everyone, So my story starts off with my buddy hitting me up on steam. He says he's at the North East shipwreck with broken legs & needs my help. So I immediately log in & join his server which is high pop (38/40). Luckily I was already near the shipwreck at the Lumber Mill just outside Berenzino. I spawn & start jogging over to the shipwreck. I'm hydrated, hunger is neutral, & I'm barely armed with a chambered .45 & a magnum with no rounds. I make it there in roughly 5 minutes. As I enter the ship I ask my friend "Where are you? What side of the ship are you on?". He says he's on the stern of the ship (the back). So I start slowly making my way up with my chambered .45 drawn -- checking each & every hallway & corner as carefully & patiently as I can & I eventually make it to the topside of the ship where my buddy is located which was right on the edge of the deck where the ship splits in half. Immediately as we regroup we see a fully geared player outside of the ship, passing the shipping containers, making his way uphill towards the NEAF. My buddy foolishly enough, decides it would be a good idea to grab his attention & starts shouting at him (horrible idea). The geared player hears him & observes the area for a moment, then starts heading back downhill towards the ship. At this point I'm telling my friend he's a dumbass & should've just stayed quiet. Now we're both watching the geared player progress towards the entrance of the ship, & he takes cover behind a small rock formation just outside near the shipping containers. At this point there's no turning back so my buddy is now being an instigator & trash talking while he's prone behind a railing with broken legs (bear in mind he's always unarmed & defenseless as I'm the only one with a gun). I can see this geared players ballistic helmet just barely sticking out of the rock formation. I take a few seconds to steady my shot & fire a round. The round hits the rock no more than a few inches from his head. I tell my buddy "Keep your eyes on him. Keep distracting him -- Grab his attention" as I move postions & chamber another round. The geared player starts firing his M4 in bursts in the direction of where I had just fired the first shot. Now I've moved, got another round chambered, & raise my .45 towards the geared player again. I steady the shot for a moment, fire, the round again, misses by inches. I repeat this scenario another 2 or 3 times (move positions, chamber round, fire, repeat). Now after missing my 4th or 5th shot, while I'm changing positions, the geared player moves from the rock towards the ship & my buddy starts telling me "He's inside! He's inside!". Now at this point I've lost sight of him so I say to my buddy "Look, he's going to kill you regardless. Put your hands up & tell him you surrender & that you're unarmed. Grab his attention & lead him towards you". My buddy complys & does exactly that while I move to the rearest point of the ship behind cover. After a few minutes I see him reach topside & he's sweeping the area, heading in my direction. I say to my buddy "Motherfucker, you need to lead this dude to you right fucking now! He's up here right near me! He's gonna fucking kill me!". My adrenalines pumping, heart racing, palms sweatings, as my buddy starts shouting "Yo dude I'm over here! I surrender, I'm right where the ship splits in half!" The geared player is literally no more than 5 feet from me & I've pretty much accepted death at this point. As he was just about to turn the corner to where I was, he hears my buddy shouting, & starts heading away from the rear of the ship. They start conversing & I can tell that the geared player is skeptical. He's facing towards the split of the ship with his back facing me. With sweat dripping down my face, I raise my .45 towards his back. I need to make this one fucking shot count so I wait for the perfect moment. He's very still, with his back turned towards me. I fire & the round misses inches to his right (holy fuck the FXN45 is so inaccurate). Now I'm shitting bricks as I sweep to the right & go prone. The geared player does a full 360 observing his surroundings & has no idea where the shot came from. He's communicating back & forth with my buddy saying "There's a sniper somewhere!" (lol). A couple seconds pass & since he's yet to see me, the geared player starts making his way towards my friend. I chamber another round as he's crouched moving very slowly, still with his back turned to me as I'm still at the rearest point of the ship. This dude is paranoid as fuck right now. I come out from behind cover right behind him & close in on him. I stop, crouched, closest I've ever been at this point, raise my .45, & fire. THE SHOT FUCKING MISSES TO HIS RIGHT! Now I dip to my left as he's turning around & I swiftly get behind cover & I can't believe he still hasn't see me! He observes his surroundings, sees no one & starts moving again. He now has my friend with the broken legs in his sight, & he closes in on him with his M4 raised as my buddy stands there helplessly with his hands in the air. I chamber yet another .45 round & peak around the corner of my cover. The geared player is talking to my friend saying "Someone is shooting at us, I don't know where he is". I see them both on the ground side-by-side & as they're communicating, I raise my .45, fire the round, & the round misses (go figure). Now I can't get back behind cover quick enough & he finally sees me. He starts saying to me "Don't kill us! Don't shoot!" & I'm thinking "Fuck that noise". So I chamber a round, peak out, fire, & miss (FUCKING FUCK!!). Now the gunfight really ensues. I chamber a round again as I start taking the aggressive approach & stop trying to be so stealthy & quiet. Now this guy has his M4 trained on my position. I peak out for a second trying to make him waste rounds. He fires at me & hits me in the chest, but thankfully I have on an assult vest so I don't start bleeding. My screen is fuzzy & grey as I keep moving, keep chambering rounds, keep firing, & keep missing. So I sweep around the left, trying to flank, & I change positions. The only thing keeping us seperated now is a small platform. I go into my inventroy to try to chamber a round, & as I'm doing so, M4 rounds start wizzing by & one strikes me in the head ("You are dead"). Once the geared player realizes I'm down for the count, he walks over to my buddy & puts a bullet in his head as well. The story doesn't quite end there. I immediatly respawn, & lucky enough I spawn back at the Lumber Mill & I sprint towards the shipwreck again. It takes me about 5 minutes to get back & I immediately enter & head up towards where I head just been killed. About 2 floors up, just before I reach topside, I'm greeted by the same geared player. I raise my hands & I say to him "Woah woah man I don't want any trouble. I'm a fresh spawn I'm just looking for some food. Would you be able to spare any?" So he provides me with some powdered milk & mentions to me "Hey I just killed a guy that was trying to kill me. You can have his loot." & I respond with "Oh, really? Cool man, thank you!" (lolololololololol). So he leads me up to my own body & says "Here, you can have whatever is on him. Can you just show me how to get out of here? I'm lost". I say "Yeah sure man I'm just gonna loot this body then i'll show you". While he's carelessly standing right next to me with his M4 on his back, I quickly stand up, raise my fists, & knock this dude unconcious in 3 punches before he could even react. He falls face first on the ground unconscious. He doesn't say anything. He's probably asking himself how he could be so stupid. I remove his M4 from his back, & unload every single round he had left in his clip into his back & he's dead. In doing so, I ruin every single bit of loot the he has on his person & don't think twice about it. Because all the loot in the world will never be as good as that sweet, sweet revenge. Thank you for reading. Thank you for letting me share. -blunce

Danlow, your arguement is not constructive by any means. If your way of communicating with those you disagree with is a method of name-calling & vulgarity, then you my friend, are the idiot in the most literal sense. As to how my behaviour was "an act of cowardness" in a pre-beta video game where morality isn't even a factor of my actions is beyond me. Also, I'm new to the DayZ community. Excuse me if I use incorrect terminology such as "bandit". Trying to insult someone with such a miniscule amount of intelligence & pride such as yourself by the use of nothing but profanity is absolutely asanine & therefore, I will not stoop down to your level to do so. You have my beans because god bless your simple-minded soul you need them now more than ever than any point in your life. -
