Where did everyone on Hardcore Experimental go...?

Hey man I know. I used to play 3PP when I first started out, but I just love anything that's more challenging ;) -

But the immersion o__O -
One thing that I personally dislike is a constant stream of directionless gameplay that lasts 20+ minutes. Do some editing, highlight the interesting parts, skip your half hour walks through open fields, & for the love of beans DON'T GO OVERBOARD WITH MUSIC.

I find it really hard to believe that people need that much gamma to get the picture right. Bohemia should bring down the maximum gamma, & force people to get a new monitor if it's really that bad. They're the minority anyway. What's the bigger issue? The amount of people that exploit gamma? Or the amount of people that need that much gamma? I believe the former. It's for the greater good. & on a related note, those who need that much gamma, & max it out because it's necessary & can't essentially exploit it, are that much more at a disadvantage.

DayZ is a cruel cruel world... this is why i went bandit

The same world where it's every man for themselves. Every survivor is only as intelligent as the last. & I wouldn't call it "target practice". Other survivors are just as dangerous as a zombie horde. He's killing to defend himself. & in this video he only shot first when there were multiple armed threats, & even so, that was after him being betrayed on multiple occasions. He learned from his experiences in order to survive. He murders for a purpose. He may not like it, but it's for a reason. Everything happens for a reason. -
I think we sort of misunderstood the central hive thing..

I'll start by saying that I very much agree. For me, personally, I did always enjoy the idea of communities being established. Rivalries are born, rumors get started of a certain someone or group who has a rare loot item, certain areas tend to be more hostile than others, etc. It's the storytelling that I've always loved, especially in a game like DayZ. But on the other hand, like yourself, I too like variety & diversity. Not knowing who or what lies around every corner, & how no 2 encounters are ever the same. Things always seem mysterious. I think your concept as opposed to mine, caters to that type of playstyle & offers that type of experience for others. So really, I would love to see a happy balance between the 2 concepts (Established communities =/= New experiences). I think that 100 man servers are obviously a step in the right direction. We're just that much closer to a 2million man server :P (lol) My question regarding the map being spread across multiple servers would be this: Let's use your example of 4 seperate servers. Will this offer a larger group of people to be spread across all 4? Say maybe 400 across all 4 servers in the game's finished state, as opposed to 100 players within 1 server? That being said, what's preventing all 400 of those players from walking to the edge of the map into the same quadrant? Essentially making one 400 man server? Would the community want that? Or would everyone be too close-knit & would it be too much? Would we only be able to have 100 players across all 4 servers? Making essentially four 25 player servers. Now, would that be too little? & leave everyone with a sense of "lonliness" & rarely seeing others? (Yes, I know this is a zombie apocolypse & the human race has depleted greatly lol) Ultimately, for me, it's all about balance. I want people to be persistent, establish communities, & create stories that revolve around a certain server for some time. But on the other hand, I want a vast game that offers loads of new experience & findings & people. -

You are a survivor my friend. A bandit would try to rob, as opposed to kill. ;) -

I actually saw that article not too long ago. & I do remember him specifically saying that it would take a lot of time to make such variety with the map. I agree that it's a great idea, cause I'm starting to know Chernaraus like the back of my hand ;) -
.45, .46, & now soon to be .47 on experimental later today. I just wanted to give the devs a big thank you & show a little appreciation for all of the work & updates that we've been getting recently & at such an amazing rate :) Keep up the great work Bohemia. I know we, the community, don't always show it, but we're thankful for your hard work. I've been having a blast these past couple of weeks! DayZ feels like a whole new game with all of these improvements! Thank You to the the DayZ team, staff, moderators, administrators (I'm talking to you Boneboys), support team, & anyone else that I failed to mention! <3 Who's excited to see ragdoll physics? http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/201952-twitter-rocket2guns-about-7pm-today-experimental-will-go-up-with-an-early-047-build-testing-new-server-optimizations-ragdoll-and-fixes-for-so/ :D

Thanks for the reply, that's how I thought it would work. I imagine that vehicle parts will able to move server to server? -

Are you referring to the high-capacity vest? That's the only new vest that I'm aware of as of .45. I had one the second day of the patch but unfortunately met my demise :( On a related note: Does anyone know if the high-capacity vest offers ballistic protection? EDIT: Sorry to highjack the thread. -

So all of that being said, let's say you've established a camp with a few tents & you have a small civilian vehicle of your own on whatever server you may be currently playing on. If you decided to change to a server that had a working heli on it in order to destroy it or steal it, you would essentially need to leave your camp & your car back at your original server, correct? You would basically need to make a trade off? -

I know so man PhysicsNew engine64-bit architectureWind ballisticsGlobal loot rarityExpanded mapEnhanced control schemeEnhanced AIThe list goes on. In regards to the pooping system, I'm pretty sure Bohemia is legitimately considering this. Would really add another element to the game in many different ways: Ailments (diarhea), contaminating water sources, food poisoning from lack of hygene, etc. If it could be done in a mature, low-key manner, I wouldn't be opposed to it. But if we happen to never see it in game, I won't lose a minute of sleep over it.
