Why are you guys even feeding the OP lol

Primarily to avoid the 3PP "look around/over cover" camera exploit, & also for tactical reasons.

If you read the most recent status report & the one prior, all pistols will eventually be held with one hand when in the "lowered" position. "At the same time we have started changing pistol moves a bit. Although it will take some time to have it fully polished there is a new pistol lowered pose and moves for standing, crouched and proned player. And one more thing... it's one handed!" http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/212177-status-report-week-of-29-sept-14/ http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/211800-status-report-week-of-22-sept-14/

What about that itty-bitty makarov? :)

Cool man, if I ever see you in the FOG server I'll be sure to let everyone know you're friendly. You can typically find us in the North Eastern region. More specifically Novo, Svetlo, Cherneya Polana, Turovo. P.S. Love your avatar dude -- I'm a huge Corey Taylor fan, let alone a Slipknot fan. Their 2 newest singles that they put out this year are awesome.

It was likely wise of you to do so lol. is your name Cptn_Miller in game as well? I'll keep an eye out for you ;)

If you happen to encounter any FOG clan members, let us know who you are here on the forums. Our guys have itchy trigger fingers lol. Although I can't speak for every member, but if I recognize you personally, I'll make sure we don't give you a hard time. ;)

lol I know, funny ain't it? Of course though, like any other newly-implemented system, bugs are to be expected. & in order to fix these bugs, they first need to properly diagnosed by us, the testers, as you've already said. I've personally not once succumbed to hypothermia (not bragging, just shedding light on my personal experience). That being said, as a fresh spawn, I first look for warm/water-resistant clothing. Preferably a pristine rain coat, & water-resistant head gear such as a boonie hat, helmet, etc. Once I've obtained these, rain is no longer a threat, & I then need to focus on food & staying warm. Food can be found in abundance, so really that doesn't take long. I then try to find myself an axe & matches. I typically tear any loose t-shirts into rags that I find along the way. Once I've obtained these things, I can build a fire at a moments notice if necessary. I generally go about my business even when I'm in the "cold" state. It's only when I'm in the "freezing" state that I begin to build a fire. & to my understanding the fire is bugged at the moment, & only works either outside or on the first floor of buildings. So if the fire doesn't warm you up, move it to a different location & try again. If you find that these methods don't work & you're still freezing to death, I would suggest that maybe the server you're playing on is bugged? It's hard for me to determine whether or not players are legitimately dying from harsh weather conditions, or a bugged system, but the system is still very new & as I'm sure you already know, will be improved with time. I just personally feel that upping the temperature isn't the solution at the moment. Yes, I very much agree that they didn't intend for the system to be irritating. But what might irritate you, may not irritate others. It's very subjective. I've never personally died within 15 minutes of running with a t-shirt, but then again I don't think it's taken me more than 15 minutes to find warmer clothing? Not sure, can't really comment there. Seems like there's a lot of grey area there. Would it not be cold > freezing > sick > hypothermic > dead? & even so, what sickness would you be prone to from the weather conditions other than a cold/flu (I'm no medical expert)? Being cold could obviously contribute to falling ill, but you wouldn't be guaranteed to fall ill every time you started to freeze to death. I'm not sure what you mean. Could you provide a link? Yes I agree that this is generally the only way you could become hypothermic in such little time. But in all fairness, fresh spawns aren't considered perfectly healthy upon spawing anyway. Who know's what you've been exposed to before allegedly washing up on the shoreline of Chernaraus? To my understanding, pneumonia is a bacterial infection. Coldness could weaken your immune system, making you more prone to the virus, but again, it's not guaranteed. Yes, but that's a given. It's to be expected. We're still in alpha.

There's no rhyme or reason. Some days are colder than others. Just build yourself a fire. There's no sense in nerfing the survival aspect just because people die from weather conditions (as the devs intended).
-
Moving will keep you warm as well. My assumption is that you were generally stationary. Also, in reality, if it's below freezing, you can still freeze to death even though you wear heavy clothing. I don't want the devs to nerf weather. :(

The amount of dexterity is how "heavy" your gun is in-game. For example, you'll be able to move & turn more quickly with an AKM with a 30rnd mag as opposed to an AKM with a 75rnd drum mag, bipod, & PSO scope. Having minimal dexterity is more essential in close quarters than it is in open terrain. The more attachments you add to your gun, the heavier it becomes, basically. Hope that makes sense.

Plenty of people travel inland. It's just that once they get all that nice shiny gear, they head back to the coast line to show off that gear. The problem is getting people to stay inland. Given that every player's current maximum run speed is ~30k/h, there's no stamina system, no weight-bearing system, little to no threat from the environment, & a large abundance of food in every town, players spend their time gearing & seeking interaction whether it be friendly or hostile. Once all of the above features that I've mentioned are implemented, people will start traveling inland & they'll stay there. People will live in the North.

Anyone fond of the idea of being able to use a restrained player as a human shield? This would only be viable with a pistol of course. This action would allow you to wrap one arm around the restrained players shoulders/neck, while keeping your pistol drawn in the other hand. The action should "bind" both players together, & the movement of the restrained player should then be influenced by the player that is now using him as a human shield. The restrained player should also have the option to "break loose" just as they do with the W key when restrained. I'd like to see a more "subtle" restraining mechanic to go along with this as well. Such as simply grasping the restrained players arm to "guide" or "escort" him, but in a less hostile manner. Again, the restrained players movement should be influenced by the player that's in control, until said restrained player attempts to break out successfully. I can't imagine something like this would be to difficult to implement, considering we'll have the option to drag bodies in the future. Thoughts?

I personally don't like the drum mags whatsoever. I prefer multiple 30rnd mags instead -- Ideally 3 of them. Mainly because of the reduced dexterity & not having to worry about having that extra space in your bag when reloading.

I don't "demand" anything. Who do I think I am?! I'd like to see vehicles when the'yre ready.

It's known that loot tables on persistent servers are currently bugged. Try looting on non-persistent servers. Bipods have definitely become more rare, but they can still be found in military barracks/jails. Only places I've seen helis spawn as of .49 is at the NWAF itself. All of which were on the airstrip.

Next time I see a Russian bandit squad I'm going to play this song through my mic.

Love it & I don't feel it's overpowered at all. Needs to be harder IMO.
