  1. Hmm, this is news to me. I spend so much time on our server, I never needed to look for another one to the point where I had never noticed that there's so few. Good time to be in the market I suppose.
  2. Thanks for the feedback Caboose -- glad you're liking it. The player count will likely increase to 50 in the future if we maintain our popularity ;)
  3. This is why I like private shards as well -- feels much more personal. Is this going to be on the FOG server? I hear you man, I try to do the same but sometimes the itchy trigger fingers of my clanmates spoil it for me lol. Do you go by Odin Lowe in-game? If not, what's your in-game name? Unless you don't want to disclose that to me. B) & thank you brother, you have a good one as well.
  4. Thanks Odin :) Although I can't speak for all of our clan members, if we happen to see you in game, I'll do everything in my power to make sure you don't get shot. lol
  5. In reference to Kuru (the real life disease), which supposedly originated in New Guinea, who was patient zero? If the disease is only transmittable by eating someone who is infected, how did that first infected person become infected? To my understanding it has to do with "prions" (proteins) that the human body processes incorrectly? & even that is a very vague definition, so don't quote me on that. I think the "slight hint of realism" you're looking for Solodude is the in-game brain disease. Maybe the devs will take the route of 'you can only become infected if you eat someone who was already infected', but again, how would patient zero succumb to the virus? I personally think the devs are on the right path.
  6. The amount of puns in this post is unsettling...
  7. Cannibalism is in game, it's a viable survival method, & it needs to have it's cons. The devs are on the right path. To those who are referencing what would/wouldn't happen in a real-life cannibalistic scenario -- Zombies are as fictional as can be, & they're the theme of this game. So that being said, this wouldn't be the first game design that's strayed a bit from ultra-realism.
  8. Me as well. The private shard aspect is great because it eliminates ghosting, server hopping, & combat logging to an extent. & it also offers a place of like-minded people to consistently play together & form a community. Punisher pretty much listed all of the reasons that persistence is off for the time being. Persistence itself (loot remaining in it's place after a server restart) works like a charm. It's the weekly Wednesday maintenance that really eliminates the purpose of it. That, & the server getting so bogged up with loot respawns to the point where performance suffers. Those are the biggies. But, as Punisher also mentioned, once those bugs have been ironed out, persistence will be on once again. We're just waiting for it to become more stable.
  9. I believe there's another clan that uses the acronym "FOG" & they play console games such as the BF series.

Can we get a sneak movement?

  11. 2 horizontally I believe.
  12. I don't know if I'd be more ashamed of being killed by this, or a sporter.

Right, but why not implement such a system now to ensure that it's working properly down the road where using it is more justifiable. It pertains to hunting, & it's a good source to further test diseases. Partaking in cannibalism leaves you prone to developing brain disease. So by implementing cannibalism now, they're not only further expanding/testing the hunting system, but now they've made the first implementations of diseases. They can test & correct it now so that they can apply the same process to different diseases in the future. Not only that, but it'll actually be working correctly when cannibalism is a practical method of survival, & other food sources are much more scarce. They could remove 90% of food sources from the game now that we have cannibalism, but for all the devs know, the system could be extremely broken, leaving players with virtually no food from any source whatsoever. It's just logical to put the system in first, make sure it's working, then start to make it more justifiable by decreasing food availability. Like anything else, I'm sure they've put extensive thought into it. Roadmap.

    Was this a hacker?(My 1st hacker experience)

It's not impossible to get shot from that position. There's only so much I can picture in my head.. There's no proof of anything within this discussion. All you've provided is a story. No one can give you a definitive "yes" or "no" with the information you've provided. There's far too much possibility, inconsistency, & variables to make a conclusion. Not trying to be a dick, but literally no one can give you the answers you seek. :(

    Beam me around, Scotty

I counted the number of spawn points you listed -- 149. It takes 30 seconds to respawn, so that's an hour & 15 minutes alone right there. Then taking into account how long it took you to actually kill yourself in between those respawns, which I'm going to give a rough estimate of ~5 minutes on average (which I feel is being very generous & would likely take longer), this process you've shown us would have taken you about 14 hours in total. I salute you.

    Was this a hacker?(My 1st hacker experience)

While this thread will likely be removed, a million & 1 things could've caused what you've described. You could've been ambushed by 8+ people, firing shots that you couldn't hear due to sound bugs. You could've succumbed to the infamous "desync breaks your legs & ruins your pants & shoes" glitch while you were on the upper floor. Could've been extreme lag? Maybe someone was using a lag switch? Maybe he was a hacker? Who knows .... I imagine this is why the mods stress that you should provide video evidence.

    nettles cares

We'll be sure to hold fire whenever we see Nettles in game. :) Me personally, I'm the more peaceful, voice-of-reason player among the group.

    Lets talk persistence.

As others have said, the Stable hive offers a level of testing that they couldn't achieve through neither internal testing or experimental testing. The stable branch offers a wider array of feedback. That, & because roadmap. Test & fix persistence now, so that they can focus on the mechanics of persistent items (such as vehicles), without having to worry about persistence itself in the future (roadmap). Irish, y u no leik persistence¿

Love it. I can't wait to see those strictly-cannibalistic clans emerge. B) The eerie gruesomeness that this game has lacked for some time is finally starting to see some light! I want this game to be sick, twisted, demented, horrific, maniacal, & unsettling (more than it already is). love it. For those that are uneasy about the idea, saying that it's sickening & uncalled for -- We can already insensibly murder, restrain, strip, torture, & force feed people. So I don't see the logic in how this specific feature is the one that was "taken too far". Picture you & 2 other friends wandering the plains of Chernarus, desperately in search of food. The 3 of you are starving to death & there is no sign of any town in any direction. You continue to move aimlessly, & one member of your squad faints. He hasn't eaten in over a week, & he lacks the energy to continue any further. So you decide to advance while your other conscious friend stays to watch your fallen friend, hoping that there is a sign of food over the horizon, but to no avail, your search proves to be fruitless (no pun intended). You return back to where your squadmate had fainted a bit later, but only for your conscious friend to inform you that he unfortunately passed. The remaining 2 of you realize that you'll soon meet the same fate if you don't act swiftly. Your stomach grumbles violently. You're not proud of what you're about to do. It's what your fallen comrade would've wanted....

Do you have Persistence turned on or off?

Hmm.. Persistence affects the loot respawn in what sense? I really can't offer too much insight as we've only operated our server with persistence on thus far. All I know is that with persistence on, loot will respawn once the loot that was in it's place prior is picked up. I've gotten the impression that the player count of the server seems to effect the rate at which loot spawns at. Loot doesn't spawn upon a server reset either. I haven't really played on any public servers or non-persistent servers since the .50 build was pushed to stable for that matter. I'd say contact your server provider if you can't find your answers here. Sorry I'm useless. :(
