My guess is that they'll be on experimental servers for some time. Even with the next stable push, who knows if they'll even be included. It all depends on how well they're functioning at the time. & from my experience, I'll tell you they are buggy as all hell at the moment. That's me in the passanger seat btw^ B)

After many hours of playing I've realized one thing....

Even animals kill for a purpose .. We just do it for fun lol -
Head West on the FOG server. ;)
-
lol of course not to that extent.
-
Actually not a bad idea. I'd love to actually have to build the pistol itself before even considering needing ammo. Would be fun :)

If BIG B055 hadn't given us positive feedback, I'm sure that video would've ended differently. :) -
Lead Producer of DayZ says, "1PP is better"
blunce replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
At no point did Hicks say "1PP is better". He's simply encouraging those who haven't experienced 1PP yet to do so. Title is very misleading. It's all preference. Why is the battle between the 2 perspectives still going on within this community? It's subjective, opinionated, & preference. Providing the 2 perspective's not only means catering more to the fan base (resulting in more sales), but it's that very same fan base that has the liberty of playing as they please. Everyone wins. -

We actually traveled to Berezino last night. If you see us log on, we may be in the area. ;) We definitely do have itchy trigger fingers. But if I see you Shrub I will try to say hello. I've had a handful of friendly encounters on our server. Even if FOG isn't feeling friendly, I know there are plenty of regulars that use our server that are. Hey, maybe you & them will even show us a good fight. -

Chernarus - The Virtual & The Real

For those who don't know, "jungle taping" is simply ducttaping 2 magazines (such as those used for an M4) together in order to decrease reload time, as opposed to keeping a second clip stored elsewhere (i.e. ammo pouch, ammo box. etc.). I feel that the crafting mechanic could be fairly simple to implement (2 clips & a roll of ducttape). I feel this would be far more useful in the scenario that you only have two 20round mags at your disposal as opposed to two 40round mags (How often does one need to fire 80 rounds in quick succession?), although it could work for any capacity mag that your heart desires. But I wouldn't want the mechanic to allow to you to mix & match, such as taping a 20 to a 40, a 30 to a 40, a 20 to a 30, etc. The reload time when using jungle taping could be brought down significantly when using this method. What do you guys think? Anything you'd like to add? Anything you guys disagree with? Reasons this wouldn't work/shouldn't be implemented? All positive & negative feedback welcome.

Has anyone found themselves locked in yet?

Don't get me wrong Karma, I prefer private shards over public ones. My " :( " was in reference to someone suggesting to switch servers upon relogging in a locked house. Which you couldn't do given it's the only server on the shard. In regard to the concept of private shards themselves & what they have to offer: :) :D  B) :beans:  -

Seems feasible Shipping Container Homes I do like the idea. I'm not opposed to being able to move them, but what possible in-game design could allow us to do it? As Caboose said, you need heavy machinery to move the thing. I definitely like the idea of using it as shelter -- Customizing it with locks & maybe even possibly treating it as a persistent storage unit like tents. +1 to that. But I can't really think of a way that people would be able to move them without the use of heavy machinery. Can they be dismantled? This is the only way I can see it working if you transported it piece by piece via truck.

Once I'm fully geared, I blatantly run laps around NWAF.

Private shards though. :( -
Haiku: a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world. Google definition^ On topic: Are you sure that you've remained on the same hive? Now with private shards, characters are bound to their one & only hive. If you join a freshly-restarted server too soon, your character information won't be in sync with the cloud & you'll experience a character wipe. Maybe you died upon spawning in? Whether it be zombie or another player?

I agree as well. I've especially wanted to see an animation when accessing the inventory similar to the way they did it in The Last of Us. Open inventory - character removes backpack & places it on the ground - character continues to rummage through backpack (looped animation) until the player closes the inventory. Upon closing the inventory, your character then stands back up & puts the backpack back on. But as you've said Caboose, not exactly priority.
-
Had to. :P On topic: I don't exactly dislike the idea, but I just feel that simply placing the item on the ground for someone to pick up is both quicker & more practical. Yes, we've all placed items on the ground that disappear & are lost forever (alpha), but this will be fixed eventually. I"d rather see the devs optimize the game so that we can efficiently trade items, opposed to making a trading system.

Remove random laughing as a side effect for cannibalism please.
blunce replied to Jhunt7507's topic in Suggestions
I think this is the key right here. Why not have a small percentage of new spawns spawn with this genetic mutation, & not show any signs that they have it. Only players who happen to eat said new spawn with the mutation would contract the disease (Kuru) & display symptoms. & any player who happens to eat another who has already contracted the disease would contract it as well, obviously. -
