    Art imitating life

I'm in Elektro. My name is Ofc Darren Wilson. I see a black character looting the supermarket. He exits, holding a machete in his hands. I call out 'Freeze!' He runs towards me swinging. I shoot him dead. 5 minutes later 2 other black characters attack me with pistols shouting 'why did you shoot our friend?! He dindu nuffin!'. I die. The end.

    Sprinting cool down

It's weird that everyone is running around like an Olympic athlete who seemingly never gets tired or worn out. Not to mention the fact that DayZ's sprinting speed is too damn high. Jogging speed is fine, but sprint should be limited to 20 seconds max, then it should recharge only if you stay still or walk.

In a survival game with severely limited resources, WTF...

God, that video got me so pumped! I can't wait to be able to do that to someone in game while screaming on mic like an autistic kid who just missed this weeks Dr Who. season finally. THIS is EXACTLY what I'm waiting for. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW9Q1cm_Tnw?t=35s "shh shhh shh hshh shhhhh"
  4. Every time I die it's in a situation that I've deliberately put myself in, it was no ones fault but mine for 1. Being in that situation and 2. Not being good enough to survive. Already I can hear the cries of 'BUT MUH NEW SPAWN, NIEN WEAPONS TO FIGHT BACK'. BS. I bet about 99% of the whining about death is people looking for some fun killing and EASY LOOTZ in Berezino who then get killed by the people they were hunting. "Plz, we need to know who's a bandit". You're probably a bandit, asshole - you just aren't very good at it. How hard is it to survive in DayZ and get cool stuff? Not hard at all, just don't shoot at anyone. It's simple. You suck. You're looking for trouble and you're finding it, then not enjoying what you find.

If you die in DayZ, you deserved it

It's almost like these people have zero historical or sociopolitical perspective on the nature of human development and interaction. These people truly have a 'slave morality' in the Nietzschean sense of the word. When the real collapse of society happens, as it inevitably will, as it does to all civilisations, I imagine their last words will be something along the lines of "NO, PLEASE NO, ARGHHH! HELP HELP HELP!" as they get stuck with a bayonet, their attacker smiling smugly, whispering "shh shh shhhhhhh". "But that's not fair! HMPH!"

If you die in DayZ, you deserved it

I think the crux of the matter is that there's always going to be come people who refuse to take responsibility for their own actions so they always blame society.

If you die in DayZ, you deserved it

Wow, I made a thread saying something really similar the other day. Could not agree more. You wouldn't rush a town in real life looking for the closest MacDonalds if there might be a pack of wild baboons in there, so why rush a town in DayZ and complain when equally savage bandits rip your shit up?

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

I'll never understand why these cheaters aren't VAC banned.

If you die in DayZ, you deserved it

I don't see the reverse psychology in my OP. I am a bandit, a proud one. The hunting of the most dangerous game excites me. There's nothing quite as exciting as tracking another player, watching their movements, then when you see your chance, when there's absolutely zero possibility that they can survive it - destroying them. Not for loot, not for a notch count, just for the pure pleasure of it. And yes it is their fault for being inept at surviving, the vast majority of people I kill are wannabe bandits, strutting around with their SKS out looking for fresh spawns to kill(I also kill fresh spawns). My only disappointment is that I can't take people real slow with a knife from behind, like this Surely nothing could be more satisfying.

If you die in DayZ, you deserved it

Yes, you deserved it for not hearing the footsteps and taking steps to hide or fight. Or maybe for being there in the first place and not scoping it out first. I imagine most of the people who complain about it not being 'fair' are liberal "GIB ME DAT" types who think they deserve stuff for merely existing. @ all the people who are complaining about bugs - no shit, obviously you don't deserve that. Shit my legs magically break in houses all the time and then I'm dead. We're talking about combat deaths.
  11. Too many people have M4s, AKs and SKSs. They should exist in the game, but they should be much rarer. Bolt actions are fine, bows are great. I feel like groups should be fighting with small arms more, pistols, sub-machine guns, the odd rifle, improvised weapons etc. Pistols sucked in the mod, they're a lot better now in the SA. People should be fighting house to house with .45s, tec-9s and that one mosin you only have 12 rounds for.

Devs Have Been Spoiling Us Lately

Does anyone remember the good ol' days of the mod when you could launch someone from cherno to elektro with the simple tap of the fire axe? Them's some ragdoll physics I want to see.

    Remove the shotgun from DayZ

I thought the whole point in adding weapons in one at a time was to have them (somewhat) working before they made it into the live build? Clearly I was wrong, the shotgun is completely pointless. You can give it to someone with both barrels at near point blank range and they'll eat it and smile. Shit, almost any position on your torso taking a hit from a 12 gauge at sub-100 yard range is death, shotguns are fucking deadly. Not in DayZ though, you stand a far better chance with a 9mm pistol at 50 yards than you do with a 12 gauge at 10 yards. Just remove them. Your avatar and the image you posted has been removed.

    Remove the shotgun from DayZ

If they devs think the shotgun is working properly then I'm done. ~waits for 'can't aim', 'bad internet'~ posts.
  15. TheMachine

when are pistol silencers going to work

No one really understands why certain things aren't working or prioritised because the dev team doesn't seem to want to communicate with the players on the forum.
  16. TheMachine

when are pistol silencers going to work

Pretty sure the devs know how to code, bro. There's other reasons why the silencer doesn't work yet, apparently.
  17. But the way the dev team are handling the whining and complaining isn't one of them. Whiners ruin games. They RUIN them. The crybabies and carebears of DayZ, so far, haven't pussified the experience, they haven't persuaded the Dev team to implement kill limits or non-pvp servers or another shitty 'bandit' system. For this, I raise a glass to you Sirs of the Dev team - stay strong. For every tear that falls from the eye of the complainers I rejoice, I rejoice for their tears are sweeter than the finest '92 Pinot Noir. The more hardcore and difficult DayZ gets, the more it seems like an avant-gardè, cutting edge game.
  18. Before DayZ was released (6 months now?) Rocket talked about the possibility of 200 player servers (eventually). I understand the need for a game in alpha to test test and test again before stuff is added, but I'm saddened by the fact that even experimental servers don't seem to be upping the player count. Servers are just empty, save the few map hotspots that people farm for loot before moving on to bambi areas for some deathmatching. Part of what's so fun about Dayz is that behind every door and inside every window there could be someone waiting to hold you up, or bust a cap, or force feed you rotten bell peppers, but sadly I don't get that impression just now, not with 40 players online. I'd really enjoy it if I had to observe any town I enter for 5 minutes before concluding that it 'might' be safe, but I don't. I just bomb in there knowing it's empty, because there's 26 players online in a game with a fairly large map and this town doesn't spawn AK47's, so who's going to be here? What say ye', devs? I'd love to interact with more players on DayZ, even if that interaction is only them shooting me and calling me a faggot while I bleed to death with my backpack of rotten bell peppers.
  19. TheMachine

Will we ever get the 100 player servers?

Loot will be fixed at some point in the future and then even small towns will be worthwhile going to, especially if you're a fresh spawn who only wants a starter rifle and some beans. And hey, 100 players online might force people to really scavenge to work their way up the loot chain. The rarity of weapons in the SA is a really good thing (imo it should be lowered even from now, less rifles and assault rifles, more pistols etc). When there's 100+ player servers you may die a lot more and be forced to play in a different way, that's a given. BUT you'll also have a higher number of 'non-fatal' player interactions with people roleplaying as police, medics, heroes etc. You see at the moment I feel like I'm actively looking for other players, instead of trying to avoid them. This isn't good. It'll be epic bros, when the Mogilevka crew rolls on Vyshnoye with the intention of raiding their beans then after a firefight the Zelenogorsk kingpins come in to mop up who eventually get slammed by the NWAF fat cats.
  20. TheMachine

Will we ever get the 100 player servers?

I disagree entirely. I count somewhere between 50 and 65 named towns of varying sizes on a full zoomed out map (dayz Ch+ map http://dayzdb.com/map/chernarusplus), not to mention outcrops, other landmarks etc. Wouldn't it just be fucking awesome with 100+ players online and you and your buddies are literally fighting over small towns? Or perhaps becoming friendly the group in the town over and deciding you'll go try to take NWAF together because the beans in this here place are running dry? More players and more human interaction is always good, that's what makes dayz intertesting, whether it's combat, co-operating, trading or what have you, the more people there are - the better. Care to explain this a little?
  21. TheMachine

Will we ever get the 100 player servers?

I'm not throwing shit, I know it's an alpha and I respect that the devs are busy. It'd just be nice to know how far down the list this is.

"creepy stuff in dayz" <PARANORMAL THINGS> CCSD

Stupid shit that roleplayers make up for giggles. Though it'd be pretty fucking cool if there was 'weird' one off type monsters/sounds/general creepy stuff in certain places. If some scary as fuck resident evil type monster walked around green mountain at night that'd be badass.
  23. When I kill someone in DayZ the thrill is exquisite. Is it the same when you take down an enemy in real life? That rush...the heart racing... the pure pleasure that washes over you? I don't think I'll be the first to admit that I've got wood from fragging on DayZ, perhaps it's the same in a combat situation? I understand a lot of the people who have served like to maintain a stoic frame 'oh, I done what I had to' type deal, but come on now....

    DayZ SA Security Leak.

What's the long and short of this? Can't say that I (as a casual player) care too much about what's happening with servers and what they cost, all I want to know is this; will we see a swathe of new 'hacks' and cheat tools ruining our gaming experience if this dude releases the source code?
  25. TheMachine

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.

Dayz is only fun because you never know what another players intentions are. Even the best 'bandit' system would be flawed (as we seen with the mod), so what's the point in it even if it were something that was a good idea(which it's not)?
