Make hacking LEGAL - read before rage

Wow, cool story bro. If only some of the hackers I met would have some mercy and be 'nice' and not just speak in screechy voices 'YOOO MOTHAA LOLZ' before they shot me.

Make hacking LEGAL - read before rage

Yeah, exactly. I judge the number of hackers based on direct 1 to 1 deaths by them, not the mass kills/teleportation to places deaths. I mean 1 vs 1 combat with people who CLEARLY have god mode enabled and in all honesty it's about 30-40%, that is NOT an exaggeration. Battleye is not working and as has been stated by the devs themselves, will never work for DayZ. So why not let people play on the same level as the hackers until the standalone is released? Oh no, you just want to script and have an advantage do you? I WISH THE SCRIPTERS WOULD GET BANNED, BUT THEY WON'T.

You mean that hasn't happened already? This is our chance to reclaim DayZ from the hackers.

Make hacking LEGAL - read before rage

That's the problem, they aren't being banned. People like to use flawed logic to make it seem like Battleye is banning most of them and 'there aren't that many', but we can all see, plain as day, that they are still infesting every server.
  5. Initially killing thrilled me on DayZ, but I found that now... it's just not enough. I've started buddying up with people before offing them, just so they feel it more. Yesterday I helped a guy get a DMR, NVG, alice pack and all that good stuff. After he thanked me I said "I'm sorry man, but I've got to do this...", he sort of said "huh?..." and started to turn around before I shot him in the head. And...I'm sort of ashamed to admit this, but I made some kid cry. He did sound at least 15 or 16 though, but after 'capturing' him and leading him to the top of a hill at gun point he started bubbling. "Dude, don't...don't man, pleaseeee" as he voice broke and he held back the tears. Then something unexpected happened, his mum or whoever walked in and started talking to him, "daniel, what are you doing?! who are you talking to?!" the kid was bubbling to her too. I heard the whole argument go down, from what I gather it was past his bed time. While his mum was still talking to him, I'm all "ANY LAST WORDS????????", last thing I head was "MAN PLEASEEEEEE and some tears". BOOM. God damnit I wish I'd recorded, I was in tears myself, tears of laughter... Just now I'm working on setting up a live stream with a delay that I'll link people to who I'm 'friends' with right before I kill them, so they can see me and my buddies laughing after we off them.

I think I might be a sadistic player

Don't knock it until you've tried it.
  7. I'm starting to wonder if Rocket is the lead dev for DayZ or BI's chosen public relations representative to every gaming convention on earth. It seems to me that all he does is fly all around the globe, repeating himself in interviews (to be fair, it's more their fault than his for their crappy questions) or talking to no-name youtube 'celebrities', who're equally bad at interviewing him. Every time there's an update on what he's doing he's flying here, there or everywhere to stand in a booth and yatter to bloggers. Meanwhile DayZ suffers from crippling bugs and hacking problems while the population falls day by day. About a 50% drop off in the last week or so? I know the rocket fan crowd will jump down my throat here, but this has reached the point of absurdity. Now, I don't expect the patches to be released like clockwork, I just expect lead developers on games (or mods, lets not get semantic here) with 1.2 million players to prioritise their time a little better.

    Under 100K active players

Hacking is the primary reason that everyone I know has stopped playing. It isn't the bugs or anything like that.

Dude, screw you. Yeah, I'm overweight, yeah I'm emo. So what?

I think I might be a sadistic player

Why do you keep making fun of me because I'm an emo? It's a lifestyle.
  11. About a week ago it was over 200k players per day (around 220k IIRC?), now it's around 100-130k. I don't understand why you'd even try to insinuate that isn't true, anyone who's ever bothered to look at the front page has noticed. Yeah, 'homework', really? And I guess no one bothered socialising during the holidays then?
  12. Even when it's maintained during the weekends?

1.7.3 - Lets Wipe the Hive

Lets do it. Most weapons at the moment are hacked/duped. I have no idea why it's been allowed to go on this far to begin with.
  14. It always amazes me when people come onto this forum and ask why their circa 2007 PC, that wasn't even that good back then, can't run the game. Happens on every game, wouldn't matter if this was crysis, we'd have people with celerons and ATI 4650's all over the forum acting surprised when their beige PC can't play it. Fucks sake people, a sort of decent PC that'll play most games on medium settings with a quad core and an ATI 6870 or something can't be more than $600 or £400-500. Back to xBox for the kids I guess.
  15. Even the most ardent deniers of the severity of the hacking problem now need to admit, the game is literally unplayable at this point. If you play for more than an hour without dying to a hacker nuking the entire server, you're incredibly lucky. Private hives are an option, but still in no way immune, there's just too many hackers to ban them all. This is fine though, the devs can focus on the standalone release and hopefully get it out before xmas time. I just really wish people would stop bitching about updates, "give us updates!!!!!!!!!!!!11", who cares? Does it REALLY MATTER at this point if the graphical artefacts aren't fixed? Does it really matter that people can combat log? Does it really matter that tents don't save or vehicles don't stay where you put them? Does it matter that the bandit system is just as broken as ever? No, it doesn't matter one little bit. In my opinion, the devs shouldn't even waste time trying to patch up the mod, it's like rearranging deck chairs on the titanic at this point.

    Underrated Weapons

m14 aim. Accurate as a DMR, holo scope, common ammo. ...and it sounds fucking boss.
  17. I really really hope rocket sticks to his guns for the standalone. There seems to be a pervasive attitude among game devs that you need to cater to everyone, they think it'll get them more sales overall. When in fact it normally does the opposite, alienates those who like hard, unrelenting play and is still too difficult for the more 'casual' (trying to use nice words) players. Take COD for example, it doesn't pretend to be anything it's not, it's piss easy, fun and requires almost zero skill (debatable, but please don't get off topic, I mean as compared to DayZ or Arma). That's why it's a hit. That's why DayZ has been a 'hit' as a mod, it's the antithesis of those instant gratification shoot em ups and those carebear MMO games that don't let you do shit. It's true sandbox, PvP and it's HARD. I want DayZ to stay hard, in fact I'd like to see it become harder. It's by far the most exciting game I've played in 10 years simply because I can get popped at any time. The carebears that don't like that are pretty much the root of the festering hacking problem we're seeing at the moment. Once standalone shuts that down, most of the crying will end because they'll leave for good. Who's with me?

    Does sniping need a nerf?

As50, rare? It's by far the most common gun I come across, more than the makarov back when people spawned with it.
  19. I just don't believe people saying they aren't encountering hackers, I'm sorry but it's bullshit. Watch any live stream, even when their names are hidden and people aren't directly targeting them with hacking/stream sniping, they're being killed multiple times per session en masse. Rockets own stream on IGN was rolled by hackers 3 times in an hour. If you aren't seeing any hacking you're probably playing on servers with -3 players, but I've been thrown 500 feet in the air on low pop servers too. Or you're a hacker, who's meta trolling us. It's bad for the game to let it run on when it's like this, people are just going to be turned off.
  20. Completely agree. I've watched 3 different streams over the last week and their experience mirrors mine exactly, every death is a hacker. Literally just everywhere. People are going to play this, like that other guy said, and do what people done with BF3 and not even bother with the standalone. He just needs to close down the hive for now.
  21. Quite right. I don't even get that far usually, it's always just plainly obvious hacker deaths, dropping from the sky etc. If I even get shot I'm almost happy.

    Macbook 15inch i7 2011 Bootcamp DayZ

    Yes, in medium settings probably.
  23. TheMachine

So, I use hacks, this is WHY

Wait a minute, you SUPPORT a hacker using god mode and scripts/teleportation killing someone just because they committed the oh so terrible crime of killing him? So this dipshit is right to just kill anyone who shoots him with his mega haxxx? You Sir, can fuck right off.
  24. I'm going to bump these threads when the standalone comes out and is infested by hacking.
  25. 3rd hacker killed was amusing.
