DO YOU KNWO WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS

I'm sorry, but I can't really understand what the hell you're trying to say.
  2. Why do people always feel the need to mention that you can buy a gaming laptop for cheaper than a MBP in these threads? Sure, you could buy a gigantic gaming laptop for £1500 that'd be 'better' graphically, but not really by much. In answer to the OP's question, yes you can run it (in bootcamp). And you have 1GB of video ram, not 512.

    How Do You Roleplay?

I roleplay as a rapist. I make people lay down and then have my wicked way with em', before killing them execution style - best not to leave any witnesses.

    Yahtzee "Zero Punctuation" reviews Dayz

This guy is a douche. He's a moderator on the Red Orchestra 2 forums and goes around banning anyone who's even remotely critical of the devs there.
  5. If we're going to go down this road of marking players with different outfits for playing a certain way (the people that whined about banditry not being realistic can't argue this is not stupid), then we really ought to give people a choice. At minus - 849,864 humanity, it's safe to say I'm never going to be a 'hero', no matter how many blood transfusions I give or other bandits I off. So there's literally no incentive for me to play 'nice' at this point, I'll always be a bandit no matter how my mood takes me. I'm feeling like being a nice guy today? Perhaps helping some people? Oops, can't risk it, I'll be shot for being a 'bandit'. Becoming a bandit or a hero should be a per character thing. After all, it's a 'new life', why should you automatically be something when you're starting afresh? It really doesn't make much sense considering you lose everything else. That way you'd need to constantly earn your status, whatever that may be. Aside from the fact the bandit system is completely and fundamentally broken at it's core, this might be a band aid to make it somewhat bearable until the standalone comes out.

    custom faces

I've been using trollface on servers that allow custom faces. It's a little hard to pretend you aren't a bad guy with it, though...

    Humanity should reset at death

Ah, rules... Ah, CoD... 1. Rules would only serve to destroy that which makes DayZ so good, freedom. 2. Good luck playing DayZ like CoD, there's no instant respawn with gear, you're out of the fight once you die. Pro-tip: Being able to shoot another player doesn't make it like CoD.

    Humanity should reset at death

I actually don't want to stop being a bandit, I just want it to be easier to betray people because they'll think I'm a nice guy. Right now I'm going with "It's ok bra, the bandit skin is a bug, I got morphine and cooked meat for you". Before they know it I'm playing the gimp song from pulp fiction over direct COM and simulating a sex act on them, before executing them.

    Humanity should reset at death

What the carebears fail to see is that they are literally giving us bandits no choice. I want to be a nice guy, but the game won't let me, so I have no choice but to shoot you in the head. I'm like a criminal that wants to turn his life around but can't get a job because of his criminal record, so I decide to just keep doing home invasions.

Hero skins have bullet proof vests?!

Judging by the replies on this thread and the countless morons who come on here explaining they hack because of 'bandits player killing them'(and people just agree with them too), I think it's safe to assume people will just agree with whatever, if it punishes those better at the game. You're all idiots. Don't worry guys, it won't be long before there's 'no pvp' safe zones for you to go to if we continue on this 'pandering to the care bears' road. And if heroes get bullet proof vests then bandits should get something equally useful for being good at killing players. Oh, or is that not allowed?

Hero skins have bullet proof vests?!

If this is true then frankly, it's fucking bullshit. Didn't rocket always say he'd never punish a gameplay style?

    It happened again...

Accepting hacked gear is like accepting Nazi gold, it's immoral. These guys sound like your typical hacker bunch of carebears who god mode around finding any perceived 'bandits' to exact the revenge upon them they couldn't exact legitimately.
  13. Ok guys, so hear me out before you jump down my throat. The hacking problem is bad, really bad. We all know just how bad it is by now, so there's no need for me to reiterate it for you. What if there were a way to level the playing field so it's fair for everyone that's playing DayZ and we aren't all put at a disadvantage by the hackers? What if 'god mode', 'weapons crates', 'teleportation' etc were all baked right into the DayZ client so anyone could use them? You see, hackers basically operate on the premise that no one should be able to kill them, hence they use cheats to avenge their death or stop people from killing them at all. There should be an option to opt in or out of 'god mode' when you start playing, this way you can engage in the fights you want without the worry of dying and the annoyance of respawning all the time. A lot of people will be annoyed and consider this 'giving in' to hackers, but in actual fact it's only really standing up to them. We just need more options guys, there's nothing wrong with that.

Make hacking LEGAL - read before rage

Wow, WOW there bro. Stop RIGHT THERE, now back up. An opinion you disagree with, therefor it's trolling? Or you're a hacker that doesn't want the general populace to have the same advantages as you? I applaud the mods for not being draconian and shutting down anything they personally disagree with, they're doing a really good job weeding out the ACTUAL trolling.

I love how all the haters just say oh no, it's stupid, without even trying to rebuttal. We're making a stand against the hackers.

Terrorists ATTACKED US on 9/11, they deserve whatever they get. I'm fed up with un-American pieces of trash bashing good, patriotic people, like GWB for just wanting to protect ZEE HOMELAND from radicals. You wouldn't even have games like DayZ if you lived in an islamic republic anyway. And forget your iPods and starbucks coffee too. "You must give up liberty to attain security" - Benjamin Franklin, 1775. But we're getting off topic here. I can't believe people are calling me a hacker for wanting to have a level playing field with hackers. Surely if I was a hacker I'd not want this? Why do people keep lying saying BE is stopping hacking? It isn't even making a dent.
  18. While the engine does have some impressive aspects, it also has many many shortcomings that make it somewhat unfit for purpose. The main one being the lag ass netcode. More than 50% of the time players are warping around on servers with 'low' pings, not to mention shots taking 1-2s to register a lot of the time. That's just terrible for an online shooter.

Here we go, wild conspiracy theories. Ever hear of co-incedence? Or do you think the world is ruled by giant lizards from the 5th dimension? Lets get back to the topic and hand folks.

You're exactly right, hackers hack because they refuse to be killed and just can't stand losing nor do they want to take the time to learn the game like everyone else does. So doesn't it make perfect sense to take the power away from them and make each and every player just as powerful as the hackers, at least until the standalone version is released? In an ideal world there wouldn't be any hacks, or rather no one would sink so low as to hack, but we don't live in an ideal world I'm afraid. People need to face up to this fact and start talking about options for the small percentage of legit players still playing.

Wow, what a co-incidence, I was just making a graph with the facts I've found about hackers - legit players. This isn't 100% accurate, it's got a 2-3% margin of error and the figures keep changing day by day.

'Simply don't play'. That'd be like telling someone who fought against the nazis, hey, don't like being killed? Simply let us take over europe. Some people said no, we stood up to them and as a result we still have some semblance of freedom today. Today, we're making our stand against the hackers, we're just looking for the tools to do it. Yet, we don't want to become the evil to fight against it, that's why this should all be above board.

These are the sort of people that are against democracy and support 1% holding 80% of the wealth. They're beggars to their own demise and fail to see the writing on the wall. What's wrong with more options, they're just OPTIONS guys.
