Yeah I killed him for the chopper. But just for the carebears, yes I would have killed him anyway. I feed on the sweet milk of your tears. Right now I'm up on a hillside shooting people. Hell I'm not even looting, I just want to see them die.

I was in the trees, about 400 metres out. He running into a barn to loot it. I shoot at him with the m24. He's bleeding. He runs inside. To my surprise he comes back out 5 minutes later very cautiously. He didn't log out?!?!?!??!?!?! HOLY FUQQQQ?! This is the FIRST TIME in THREE DAYS I've shot at someone and they haven't IMMEDIATELY logged out. I let him gather what he needs and leave - we need more players who aren't gamey exploiters - good show sir.

On every server I've been on tonight almost every spawn in elektro and cherno were sequestered off with barb wire. So were some streets. It needs to be removed, people are just trolling with it. -
It serves no purpose, and with people not spawning with a weapon now all I've seen it used for is sequestering off loot spawns. In fact it's so bad, nearly every spawn is literred with it.

Let's talk facts here. The fact is, the people who aren't happy with the fact that they can be killed by anyone at any time will NEVER be happy until the game is sanitised in such a way that they can't be killed any time, EVER. They only want the fight on their terms, they want artificial, game implemented safety barrier to stop another playing killing them. They can ooh and ahh all they like, but essentially that is what they're asking for. That's what every other sandbox PvP game turns into if they get their way. And they're always so damn smug about it too, lots of little smiley faces on forum to accent their glee about their cowardice. "Can't wait until the devs carpet bomb pvp, oh the pvp crowd are going to be crying on forums :D :D :D" :rolleyes: The fun about this game is that if you want safety, you can EASILY have it, you just need to make it yourself. No moaning and crying about what's hard about it, just figure out how to make it happen. I'd bet i've died and lost more high grade stuff than these people too. I was walking through the woods at night with my NVG on, I got shot from god knows where (this was way north), died after I got knocked down and bled out. My first thought wasn't 'lets go on forum and complain', it was 'that guy is a fucking ninja'. It was fun. I hope it happens again. -

You made a thread suggesting there be NPC's that shoot 'bandits' on sight. Seriously, GTFO - this is not a sanitised carebear friendly game, there are no safe zones. That's what makes it good. There's a very small minority that keep complaining about being killed and I'd suggest they're simply playing the wrong game. This is DayZ - invent your own mechanic for surviving. -
I kill other players, guess I'm a bandit and my objective is to kill you? Well, you got an objective now, kill me first. So many very young teenagers playing this game that get frustrated and come to the forums and cry - this is what makes killing people so satisfying. Yeah, I'm a thrill killer, going to cry about it? You'll only ever be safe if rocket decides to sanitise the game and remove PvP, til' then, better learn to survive Bubba.

No, I really won't. I'm going to stick with DayZ and play every day and you're going to have to learn to live with it. Yeah this, exactly. People just like to come on forums and demand something be 'done' to reduce the number of times THEY PERSONALLY are the victims of someone else's bullets. The fact is the game is about survival, I don't ever want it to turn into a soppy role playing POS where everyone teams up to raid zombies, I want to be running in a field and hear the gunfire cracking around me. I want to panic and fire wildly into the tree line as I make a break for cover. Maybe I'll die? Maybe the guy shooting will die? Or maybe I'm the guy shooting? That's what makes dayZ fun - so in a similar vein to what the PvP-Phobes keep quoting There's thousands of games out there for PvE, if that's what you're into, go play those, and leave the thrill of the unmoderated, no rules, no holds bared badassary of DayZ to the rest of us . MACHINE - OUT. -

The fact that you CAN kill other players means the game is PvP (player VS player), how can this even be denied? It's the zombie apocalypse, you are VS. other players, you compete for guns, food, ammo, shelter. If this element of the game was ever diminished in ANY WAY, or there were artificial 'consequences' added for killing another player, then it'd immediately lose it's whole appeal. This is the only game going where you feel real nerves when you spot another surviver, hands down the most gripping aspect of it. -

As per the topic, its a lesson to new players. There are sad individuals out there that will wait with a sniper for hours on end just to shoot you. I'd call them cowards for hiding but its smart and it works. Its also fun shooting one of these cowards in the back while they sit there wanking to the death of a newblet. As for you, Nobody likes you. Your signature is stupid weaboo crap and your name is unoriginal, and not surprisingly so is your play style. So what's a legit way to kill someone in your opinion then? Oh right, you only moan when it's you getting killed. :rolleyes: -
That was the funniest shit I've seen on DayZ, 2 hours to get to NW Airfield then BOOM, one hit by an angry zed.

The map is gigantic, 50 (or in a lot of cases less) is very few people imo. I've read rocket say servers stress prevents more players from being on the servers. But perhaps with arma 3, or maybe some optimizing more players will be a possibility? The game would be IMMENSE with that many people to try to avoid, because north of the coast now is practically a dead zone, apart from 2 or 3 hotspots.

I can't believe people aren't into the idea of more players? :S I don't want to kill zombies all day, I want to see some action, some tense encounters, i want to be scared in somewhere but the main cities or the NW AF. -

I'll keep this brief and to the point. Problem - I clear out a town and zombies keep appearing out of nowhere, sometimes you can even see them spawn. Before you know it you've killed 80 zombies in a town that only had 30 to begin with. This, to me, breaks immersion and realism. I should be able to look over and say 'ok, 20 zombies down there', then make a decision about going in or not, knowing at the very most I have 20 zeds to deal with should i be seen. Solution - perhaps once zombies in a certain spawn area are dead, they stay dead for at least 15-20 minutes (relatively short in DayZ terms), to give us time to loot and get out. To me, this would make taking on some zombies actually seem rewarding, and not completely futile like just now. Because if you get seen, no matter if you have 10 people and 8 m16 mags each, you aren't ever finishing off the endless zombie horde.

The 'hacking', spawning of weapons not in DayZ etc is something I have not seen much of, I've seen one person in a video with a tank of some sort - but that's it. Yet, this is something we hear no end of on the forums, like it's some game ending plague taking every server by storm and rocket must do something IMMEDIATELY or dayz will no longer be a viable game. The real problem as I see it is the exploit of game mechanics - being allowed to disconnect at any time, even when in danger. I'd say 90% of the time, people - unless they think they can kill you without you getting a shot in their direction - will D/C. Last night at NE airfield some guy unloaded an entire mag of AkM at me, I narrowly made it into a hanger, bleeding, with 6000 blood and a hoard of zombies on me. I killed the zombies and popped my head out, to my surprise he was still there, this time shooting with his pistol. I move up and start firing with my M16 - he isn't shooting anymore. He runs into the tower, and promptly disconnects. He was (I suspect), out of ammo and had failed miserably to kill me - so he probably just logged on another server. If I shoot at someone in the open - they dive down and D/C. If someone shoots at me and I don't die instantly and fire back - they D/C. I know there's a 5 second delay in the latest patch, but that simply isn't enough imo. Now, I know there'll be a (fairly large) contingent of people who'll disagree with me, because they like abusing game mechanics to gain an advantage and break the realism/immersion of the game. But those among us who value fair play and balance will agree that there needs to be something done about disconnecting problem.

Anyone who disagrees with this, whatever their reason, is probably one of those cowards who disconnects the second they're in any danger.
