    Why I kill unarmed players

Nope, not a badass, just a realistic player. I simply do what needs to be done...
  2. TheMachine

    (PvP) How do you die?

    hackers.
  3. TheMachine

    lol really?

Yes, typical hacker behaviour. Some don't play god mode, but you can be damn sure when you get the better of them they'll flick the god mode switch and spawn back at you to get their revenge.

    Global Bans for legit players?

Who even knows with battleye? Their website looks like something from 1997, so I really find it hard to believe a company that can't even code some html to 21st century standards can be 100% right with their cheat detection.
  5. Lets bear in mind game dev takes quite a long time, not to mention most games miss their scheduled release dates by quite far. Arma 3 (the engine it will be on) won't be out until late 2013. So we can probably expect DayZ to be early 2014?
  6. TheMachine

When will we see DayZ standalone?

This year is very very optimistic.
  7. I just seen 5 guys spawn 3 choppers, a bus, 2 cars and a boat. +they were god mode. Battleye apparently isn't banning most cheaters.
  8. They aren't going to charge for the mod, but for the standalone GAME. Probably on a totally different engine.
  9. The only 'griefing' in DayZ is the hacking/scripting. Someone killing you legit is NOT griefing.
  10. While I agree with everything you said, .50 cals should be removed until the standalone version. Take some of the insta-kill power away from hackers. EDIT- I know hackers can and do spawn in any weapon, but generally they stick to 'official' dayz loadouts to make it less obvious.
  11. I'd literally take a bet that it isn't out before mid 2013, around august. About a year.
  12. I recall rocket saying he thought he'd push out a standalone version of the game by September this year. To this I say - not a fucking chance. Rocket needs to start being realistic about what's happening with DayZ (or even just start telling us what's happening from time to time). I can tell you now though, most people won't pay for a standalone game with servers that are so unregulated, when you need to wait 5-10 minutes just to get past the loading screen into one. I'd put the standalone release of dayz sometime towards the end of 2013, at best.
  13. Each time the issue of hacking is brought up, about half the people shrug it off "I've never seen any hacking". It's such a common theme, people denying it exists because they personally haven't seen it. Or to a lesser extent, admitting it's a problem, but diminishing how serious of a problem it actually is because they think they haven't seen it or have only seen it once or twice. That's because the vast majority of hacking isn't the thunderdome, or the whole server being nuked. It's someone giving themselves ESP (all players appear with arrows above them, visible from anywhere), god mod (you think they didn't die because you missed or it lagged), or spawning weapons and gear. Or teleporting around. Or vehicles. There's loads more. All practically imperceptible to the average player, but I can 100% guarantee your gaming experience has been sullied by it. As you become more experienced in the game you'll see just how common it is, the people you kill being back in 5 minutes with the same gear. Invisible people shooting you when no one was around. The 'hacker loadout' ( .50 cal, M4A1 silenced, NVG, rangefinder, wookie outfit). Some hackers are happy just to have the best equipment, others aren't happy unless they're playing in god mode or nuking the entire server. Most are the former, but they still ruin DayZ - and so do you by denying just how widespread the problem is now.

    You fail to understand hacking

So it's like a delayed pay off for them? They kill a few people in game then jerk off while they read the forums? Well...I see. Also, I never said anyone with good gear is a cheater. I pretty much always have an As50, because cheaters are so common. Killed one with an axe yesterday... he spawned beside me 5 minutes later and shot me with a m240. Boy, he showed me.

    Battleye's a joke...

Who the fuck cares why it's happening? The fact is the engine or BE is inept at stopping it, therefor most peoples experience on DayZ is ruined. Every other argument is pure semantics.
  16. People won't pay for dayz when they realise how badly it's been compromised by hackers(or script kiddies/cheaters, lets not get caught up on semantics here), Rocket. The bugs etc wouldn't put people off because they'll see potential. The hacking however, is a different issue altogether. When people see how inept the engine/battleye is at stopping this type of behaviour it'll be red flags. Let's not waste time arguing about why it happens either, or musing over the weaknesses of the engine and how it's not DayZ's fault, it's someone else's fault. I'm entirely seriously by the way. I love playing DayZ and I'm excited to see the standalone release, which I hope will do really well. For now though, the best thing for the mod would be to put the hive to sleep until it's released. At this point the only thing that's happening is new players (and old, alike) are being put off the game by the plague of scripters infesting every server. I know people will bleat and moan about this, but they're being selfish and would compromise the very promising future of DayZ as a standalone game just for a few 'lolz' in a hacker infested mod.
  17. To let the alpha test go on any longer is to let the cheaters win I'm afraid.
  18. TheMachine

    Battleye's a joke...

Why all the round about arguing and excuses for BE and BI? Fact is, cheating is happening, way more than in any other FPS or basically any online game. Who cares about the ifs and buts of it? All players know is their experience is being ruined.
  19. "guys, it didnt record properly" "guys, my computer broke" "guys, i have an anal prolapse" Pick your excuse, Sir.
  20. TheMachine

Standalone: where will it be set?

If it's on arma 2's engine, cheranrus, if it's on arma 3's engine then it'll be set on the map arma 3 uses. There won't be a 'DayZ' map.
  21. TheMachine

    You fail to understand hacking

Who cares what I call them? Lets just call them cheaters then, is that ok? Does that not offend your delicate sensibilities? Because lordy lordy lord, imagine if someone out there were to read this and think those real PRO hackers that are totally elite are the people annoying them on DayZ? Imagine the confusion it could cause if people were to mistake them for kids using scripts on an online game! The hacker loadout - that's what the hackers seem to spawn for themselves and have each time they come back after you kill them(if they can be killed).
  22. Are you a script kiddie? The only way people aren't encountering multiple hackers on a daily basis is if they're playing DayZ single player mode, ie. servers with less than 10 people.
  23. Every time someone brings up the subject of hacking, some coolboi chimes in something along the lines of "yeah, duh, we got enuff threads on dis" or "I haven't seen any hackers and I've been playing 2 months". This is the ONLY issue that should be talked about right now, not green mountain, not zombie pathfinding, not sniper rifles, not bandits. Makes me think these people are hacking then downplaying it on forums. Wouldn't even surprise me, there's enough of them. 1 million players, probably 200k hackers. It's reached the level now that DayZ should probably just be shut down until a solution is found to bring it to a workable (read: TESTABLE) level. After all, we can't do any alpha testing with this much hacking going on.
  24. This guy sounds like a script kiddie. Nothing is out of proportion.
  25. TheMachine

    Are the hacker denialists... hackers?

It's more comical than anything else, I've been turned into a goat twice now...
