The shipwreck at Rify is definitely the right direction when it comes to adding more to the map. However I just wish they thought about it a bit more. It seems completely unreasonable that a ship that size is completely severed in half, yet the two halves are right next to eachother like that. I think they should take one of the halves and put it somewhere else along the coast. As it currently stands, it might look cool, compared to the otherwise somewhat bleak coastline, but it's just so unrealistic it bothers me.

Re: Pitchforks and farm tools/weapons

Please god no... don't put scythes into this game. They would make atrocious weapons. We're not playing Diablo here. -
While I'm in favor of adding more crafted gear to the game, I don't entirely see the value of this one. The way I see it, the whole point of adding something like a Camelbak would be to give players a larger "canteen" that takes the spot of your backpack, yet still has a small amount of space for other items. I guess my point is: why would anyone replace their backpack with a canteen on a sling, when they could just put their canteen in a current backpack? Now you'll definitely face this issue regardless, when compared to the hunting and mountain backpacks. So I guess, if added, the Camelbak should be more commonly found than many of the current backpacks.

I agree, civilian vests would be a solid addition. I especially like the fisherman, and paramedic vests. A 'biker' style vest would be good too, I just hope they don't model it after the one you posted. That thing reminds me of something a punk street gang member would wear in a 1990's batman film.

I have one that I use for mountain biking. It's pretty small, however it does have some pockets. You certainly won't be able to hold much if the 'bladder' is full, but a few small things should be possible. Most people around where I live know what you're talking about if you say "Camelbak", so I guess they aren't too uncommon. Seems like a good suggestion to me. Edit: I just checked their website, they are sold at a physical location in Prague.

Ah yeah, I was talking about zombies accidentally hitting eachother when trying to hit a player. Only been playing DayZ for a couple weeks now, so I don't know if they actually aggroed other zombies in the past. Lold at experimental comment. xD
-
I'm not sure if you're referring to experimental servers, or stable. However I can confirm that zombies still hit, damage, and kill eachother on stable.

Clear, yes, but also clearly a terrible troll. Just because you fail to understand how energy transfer works, doesn't mean you should pollute the forums with your incorrect opinion. Inb4 you throw yet another "I'm such a victim" tantrum.

Help! Can't find my location on the day z map
kylesaysthings replied to Demonica's topic in New Player Discussion
Well I can't find a match to the first word on that sign. Closest thing to it is Vyshnoye, but I really don't know what that first word means, for all I know it just says "Entering". However the second word is Dubrovka, which is a little town around 2.5km west of the coast. If that's where you actually are, then you're west-by-northwest from Berezino, around 1.7km away. Hope this helps. :> -
Help! Can't find my location on the day z map

If you post a screenshot of a sign with the name of the town you're in, then I'm sure we can help point you in the right direction. Do you have a compass btw? -
Or they had two main weapons and logged off. Kinda have to agree with the latter part of your post.

Then people would just disconnect their internet till they crash to avoid the timer. Timer should be extended imo. As it currently stands, it's better than nothing. However fire-fights between groups with decent cover on both sides can easily go on for well over 5 minutes without either party moving, providing plenty of time for people to ghost. I know this thread isn't directly about ghosting, but how loot spawns will be changed in the future, so addressing the timer in regards to server-hopping for loot is kinda pointless. If they could make it so you get a 10 minute timer only if you join a different server than the one you were in/DC'd from, that'd probably help make everybody happy('cept the asshats who have to ghost to win engagements).

Haha, we're making this complicated with all the editing. Anyways, I look at a lot of the clothing as being unisex. There could be more feminine looking shirts in the game, surely, and I don't think anyone here is really opposing that. However if you look at the very first picture the OP posted, it just screams unrealistic and dangerous to me, given the setting.
-
Nobody said it should be restricted to men's clothing, that's just a strawman(something your post is full of). We just want to see the clothing kept within reason. I figure at this point in the story, the only people left alive are those with survival in mind. How is a skirt going to be better than a pair of appropriately sized pants? How are girly boots going to be better than appropriately fitted shoes/boots that provide the best possible stability, traction, and protection? At the end of the day I find it quite unrealistic that people in this scenario would be placing atheistics over function. Then why is everything decrepit? Rify has rusted away. The paint on every house is faded and peeling. All the vehicles in the street are rusted. I've always gotten the impression that a good amount of time has passed since the outbreak.

If I say an elephant is a car, is it a car? Just because someone misuses a term doesn't mean the term is suddenly redefined. The term MMO was created by the DEV for UO. Even if you use the altered modern definition for MMO, it still says "thousands of players connecting to a persistent world". You sure you didn't grow up under power-lines? DayZ is barely closer to an MMO than Battlefield. We get it, you want attention, and currently the unexaggerated gender appearance of female characters is putting a damper on the potential of your attention-whoring.
-
But... you just identified yourself as a Panamanian... What would you like people from the USA to call themselves? United Statesians? Sounds ridiculous. If this really brings hate out of you, as you say it does, then I truly feel you need a reality check. The term by which a nation of people identify themselves is so insignificant. Not worth getting worked up over at all.
-
Well the OP did suggest skirts, and it's been mentioned in a bunch of other posts as well. I'm pretty confident that there will be more character customization options in the future though. Things like beards(as you mentioned), new faces, hair colors and styles, and maybe even body types(though these could be problematic with model clipping and hit-boxes). I'm pretty new to DayZ though, so I'm not sure if the DEVs have communicated their stance on these matters yet.

After reading this thread I just have to say it... DayZ is not an MMO. On-topic: I'm all for reasonable female clothing. Seeing as though your characters breath is always visible, anything that shows more skin than a person would reasonably show in a cold climate shouldn't be included. Skirts teeter somewhere on the border here for me.
