I would love to see an SVT-40 added to this game as a "rare" spawn.

Judgmental "you must play this alpha test the way I tell you to!!" player spotted.

How about bigfoot?

Lots of server connecting issues as well as lots of admin abuse (worst i've seen in the SA to date) is pushing people away till things get more stable. Rocket posted about the possibility of a fix for the connection issues tomorrow. The admin abuse solution requires some serious streamlining in regards to the reporting process, which is far more unlikely.

How about the 6B7-1M? Imo it should come with a cover just like in the below pic. This should be the most common helmet seen in Chernarus! Maybe even add the 7.62x51mm defeating NS-600 NIJ III (not nij IIIa) as a super rare spawn.

Gibonez, there is no doubt in my mind that the current implementation of the mosin in DAYZ is simply a place holder... Once a true precision rifle capable of mounting modern bipods and optics is added into the game, expect the MOA on the mosin to be increased and for it to be far more limited on what can be mounted.
-
1-2 MOA seems to be the go to average using m855 5.56. As you said, civilian full length "SPR" floating barrel ar15s are known to shoot close to .5 moa with match grade barrels and ammo. The mk12 SPR is essentially your "mil spec" equivalent.

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
taco86 replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
I know I'm being overly picky here, but the m60 is not a "heavy machinegun"... I've seen it refered to as such many times on this board from many different people. It is infact quite a bit lighter, in terms of raw weight and fire rate than a m240, or MG3 which are both classified as GPMGs (same as the m60). The m60e6 is suposedly going to be replacing the m/62s (mgs3?) in the Danish Military... At about 20.5 lbs, it's not much heavier than weapons classified as "lmgs" such as the SAW and RPD. -
AKM Sneak peak close to being implemented

Hopefully the Current "Yugo" Compensator that's built into the SKS will be removed and introduced into the loot table as an attachment. -
I generally would agree, in terms of weapon handeling and how ballistics are modeled. Weapons in this game should strive to be as realistic as possible... Balance still should be a pivital focus point though, however it needs to be focussed on spawn rates/locations, and rarity of mags/ammo/optics over all else... P.S. No .50 cal snipers, at all in the SA, please...

Would You Balance The M4 and How / Bow and Arrow Discussion?
taco86 replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
In terms of KE, a m855 5.56 round has around 20x more energy than an arrow fired from a long bow... That being said, lethality is not directly proportional to the amount of KE... In terms of how "lethal" each j of energy is, the arrow is far more efficient, however in terms of raw "power" a bullet far exceeds pretty much any arrow... As one final comparison, a typical arrow fired from a typical hunting bow has about 1/50th the KE of a 7.62x51mm... -
Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

1,670,999 (at time of post) have been sold. -
Imo, the same should be done for single action revolvers (if they add them) and pump action shotguns. The same mechanic could be used to clear a "jam" once and if that is ever introduced as well.

I was not reffering to BIS employees like dean, bill, ect ect windowlicker... I was refering to forum admins, who by their own admitence, are not payed employees. This I find unfair as they are certainly "working" and providing a service that supports a for profit product. Furthermore, not a single thing indicated in my post points to an opinion of "No money should go to BIS", I beleive you've drawn a strawman in regards to that. -

So you're all working on a for profit project with no pay?... Come now, you guys can do better than that... Especially when the SA alone has raised over 50 million in digital sales... I'd very much like to known how much of the SA sales are actually going to the development of DAYZ... I have a sneaking suspicion that myself and the rest of the community would be rather "disappointed" though... -
You're not allowed to post suggestions for the game atm, unless you want to be met with hordes of "It's Alpha" butt sniffing, try hard, white knight fanbois... In all seriousness though, just make sure to use the search function to see if there is a similar topic that is recently active. That alone should help mitigate the fanboi plague. FYI, if the topic is "old" that you post in, it will probably be locked for reason of "necro" regardless of the fact that a new similar topic would certainly be spammed with "use the search function". In the end, just voice your suggestions imo, as you can't please the mini modding community here no matter how hard you try.

Hopefully they mean the series before bethesda got their extremely overrated hands on it...

Trust me, the vast majority of americans don't want them... Just like we did not want up armored hmmvs (V shaped hull designs existed long before 2003, this is what smart people wanted for our soldiers, not another flat bodomed overweight death trap designed specifically to try and help save a failing auto maker)... The reality is that it has nothing to do with what the people or the boots/pilots want... It has everything to do with how much money lockeed, general dynamics, and some other big name members of the IMC can get their hands on by paying off congressmembers... The f35 especially, is a massive national defense problem when you consider it's soon to be 200 mil+ price tag, performs significantly worse than a f-16 and that it's now been correctly classified as a "low observable" aircraft, just like the super hornet, instead of the "very low observable" tag which was removed and only granted to it in the past via missinformation and lies... In comparison, the f22 was (limbo manufacturing facility was disasembled for political reasons based off of a fragulent washington post article) a "steel" at it's 150 mil price tag. I know this is off topic, but the general point is this... The typical anti american propaganda that is commonplace around the world is drastically oversimplifying the state of discontent the average US citizen has for the government, the IMC, and the foriegn policy... Most americans are not fat trailer trash, flag waving, gun totting lunatics as much of the rest of the world seems to brand us... Stop pretending that 400,000,000 people living across 3,800,000 square miles are all the same...

If you're actually treating that cracked.com article as imperical evidence that zombies are possible then you are officially a tinfoil hat wearing crazy person...

Zombie apocalypse? Realistic game? lol...

M4 is actually reasonable if you've got magpul stuff on it and have a bipod deployed. Hitting a man sized target at 500m is not at all difficult. The problem comes when you don't have all this pristine magpul stuff, or you are crouching/standing. Having to "lag shoot" on top of leading also makes hitting any moving target at distance difficult which certainly exaggerates the already significant issues with accuracy. Pistols are just way off atm, hitting a sign at 25m is difficult... No thanks to cone of fire barrel bending mechanics please... One other thing I wanted to touch upon... Why is the 1.3 lb Troy Battle Axe the "quicker" stock compared to the others when it's .7 lbs heavier than the magpul ctr, and .9lbs heavier than the standard m4 stock? The selection here just makes no sense... Obviously the standard m4 stock is to stay, but the other two should be removed and replaced with more appropriate stocks that fill their "roles" in the game... The easiest thing to do imo, is to simply scrap the Troy Battle Axe and the Magpul CTR. Introduce the Magpul UBR as the "marksman" stock as it's essentially the Rolls Royce of collapsible buttstocks in terms of how solid and durable it is. IMO the CQB buttstock could be filled by the CTR (which is probably the best in terms of how solid it feels for the weight), however to prevent cliche magpul spam I suggest the Vtor Imod...

"Private Servers" exist and it does no good to report them

Makes you wonder where that 50million is going doesn't it? -
Fair enough, how about ka4 then?

No idea what all this hate going back and forth between the fn-fal and the g3 crouds is all about... But I hopefully have a solution to those who are claiming "they are too similar". While the argument about similarity is valid to some extent, why not just introduce the MC 51 Short barrel G3 as a high powered CQB weapon, and introduce the FN-FAL as a true battle rifle? There is certainly room for both... Here are some pics of the MC 51...
