oh yeah, b95 should be significantly more accurate as well... 2 "floating" (allows them to properly expand w/o pressure points) cold hammer forged barrels and what not... Has little to do me "loving" the b95, as I personally don't care for the firearm... It has far more to do with "realism" and keeping weapons relevant... As it stands, hardly anyone uses the b95 once they find a mosin, this should change considering that the b95 is far more of a precision rifle.
-
I guess this is semi off topic, but the LRS needs to be removed from the mosin and allowed on the b95... Realistically, the LRS we have in game would not be mountable on the mosin w/o extensive modifications or specialized mounts. B95/97 should be able to mount a saddle mount "LRS" like so... As well as a saddle mounted "aim point", like so... Mosin should be restricted to... Unless you find one of these...

This is pretty much exactly what I want considering the state of buildings and vehicles in Chernarus indicates a timeline that starts many many years after the start of the infection... I'd also very much like to see severed limbs and torn apart bodies that indicates the infected have been "feeding" as I highly doubt this infection magically makes the infected immune to hunger.

Please no theme park in my sandbox, k thanx.

Recoil, please stop your .3 moa at 650m "tech sight" akm troll...

My mistake, I've confused you chaps with the B.O.T. clan. Will revoke previous butthurterry.

edit: comment retracted.

I'm all for a "4th wall mechanic" as well as a much more restricted FOV slider for both 3rd and 1st person. Preventing players from sticking their head/camera into walls also needs to be addressed. IMO, these three issues are easily some of the most important problems that need fixing.

Ok dude, just stop trolling.

Weedz... You're getting overly defensive here... I'm not, nor have I ever said that a 10% difference in terms of Muzzle velocity is not a substantial difference... I have actually debated against individuals who underplay the difference in muzzle velocity when looking at terminal ballistics and most specifically the amount of energy the bullet has (about 15% more than a 14.5 inch barrel) and it's increased "fragmentation" range. That being said, the weapons, in terms of how they operate, are built, and are employed are EXTREMELY SIMILAR. Trying to claim that they are not (which you did) is simply ignorant, a stance your holding onto based on pure ego... To put it simply... Both the m16 and m4 are essentially ar15s... The m16 is a full sized ar15 utilizing a full length gas tube, and a different buffer assembly resulting in lower pressures (less heat on the bolt) and slightly less recoil as well as 10% more muzzle velocity and about 15% more muzzle energy when directly compared to the m4... While there are certainly differences between the two rifles, they are still very similar.
-
So let me know if I'm getting your argument right here... The weapons share over 80% commonality in terms of parts, they fire the same round and they are variants of the same base system... Both barrels have a 1/7 twist, Yet somehow, a 10% difference in muzzle velocity means "not even a little bit" in terms of similarity??!? You wut m8?
-
..... "not even a little bit" The weapons are so ridiculously similar outside of the length of the barrel and the gas tube...

Yugo SKS is actually slightly more accurate than an akm, or even a milled ak47.

How do you peak? What is the best method of peaking that allows the least
taco86 replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
We can thank extremely bad net code, horrid server predictions (visible character model is often not bound to hit box during these evasive "jinking"), and generally poorly implemented ballistics for this one. -
Never said anything about him saying 20mph. My 20mph comments are in reference to fist raised endless sprinting atm... The point I'm trying to make is that the foundation of movement speed within the current game is simply flawed, and people are sprinting at speeds which make no sense beyond a 100m sprint performed by a high level athlete. I think we need to define what are justifiable "base speeds" of a naked character, and then work our way forward from there. The general system (weight and terrain difficulty determine speed) kalme describes is certainly a good solution, however the starting point of these speed calculations need to be brought into reality. While kalme in no ways defends the current run speed/duration, I quoted that particular portion of his post to highlight "running", which in the game atm is fist running at 20ish mph forever. The post was in no way meant to negatively target an individuals intentions/opinions. I'm sorry that it came off, or was taken that way.
-
Running at 20+ mph for half an hour in combat gear is not doable, running at 20+ mph for an hour+ in "light gear" is also not doable... The fastest marathon runners in the world (super freaks) average about 12 mph...

I'd love to see ghillie suits at some point, however I'd like to see their introduction counter "balanced" by the addition of plate carriers and nij lvl3-4 plates. Wearing both would be (in game) impossible, being forced to pick and choose how you want to improve your "survivability" should be highly encouraged.

Stick your head in a wall and gain instant wall hacks. I'd say this is currently the most game breaking issue in the alpha, even ahead of the terrible net coding. -
Any chance that there is some talk within the dev team as to streamlining the server report process?? Currently the chance of action being taken against an abusive admin is extremely small... I'd strongly suggest that there be an ingame "report server" option during the length of the alpha which automatically points you in the direction of the proper server provider... Currently it's almost required to spam the abuse emails of all of the providers if a server does not list their host in the server name... I'm trying to avoid being overly harsh, but the current process is simply borderline non functional and is pushing far too much of the responsibility of enforcing server rules onto the testers themselves... A new report format along with BI employees that scan for abusive servers and admins would go a very long way.

Deathlove, I don't think it has anything to do with appeasing the overly nationalistic slow blinkers among us... It has to do with wanting some form of realism (in terms of weapon performance) in this supposed survival "Simulation". The AKM should not be as accurate as an m4a1... AKM grouping should be between 3-4 MOA at 100m, m4a1 is less than half that.
-
No idea about the ak74, but the stamped akm is actually very slightly less mechanically accurate than the milled ak47 when fired in semi auto mode... The akm is however more accurate when fired at high rates of fire or in full auto due to a factory installed 45° muzzle break.

I noticed that as well rick. There seems to be a few buildings that no longer spawn as much loot as they use to... The key offender is the 1 story red brick "pub" house, that no longer seems to spawn food or clothing in the far cupboard room, or near the cupboard in the central room with the stair case. I'm wondering if this is intentional, or if there is some unforeseen issue that's restricting the total number of loot spawns across the entire map.
-
Rick, unless they have reduced the spawn rate of morphine of "legacy" spawn locations, the rate of morphine spawns in this patch is higher due to the mass proliferation of "medical centers" which are capable of spawning morphine in several locations. Overall, I'd say there is at least 50 more possible locations for morphine to spawn than in .35.

Pistols too inaccurate as well as m4?!
taco86 replied to Sgt.BigBeasty's topic in General Discussion
WTF? Nice straw man there chap... FYI, in terms of the firearms available in .42, the m4a1 should be by far the most accurate... Don't forget the mosin is "over performing" by some 200% or more in terms of groupings... As it stands, accuracy across most of the firearms is nothing but comedy... Stop pretending that people raising concerns about the current abysmal state of weapon performance is akin to these same people wanting the m4 to be able to hit a bug sized target at 800m... What people want is realistic MOAs (realistically about 1.5-2 at 100m for m4a1), sway and breathing should be what makes placing shots more challenging, not fantasy land barrel bending. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
taco86 replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
When zombies stop clipping through walls and are able to path on par with AI from 15+ year old titles I'll give a "reasonable" critique... As they are now, they are so broken it's hard to take any of it seriously... The increased bleed rates and their run speed is a step in the right direction though.
