  1. For those who play DayZ: Standalone do you play it while acting how you would act in real life. What I mean is does your real life sense of morality affect how you choose to interact with players or do you just play it and not get hung up about shooting that fresh spawn for his can of beans? Personally I hate shooting players on DayZ SA. I've only ever killed 4 people and I only played it for 2 weeks before my computer broke (I will be returning soon enough). My first kill was outside Balota Airfield (The town near it) when this random asian fresh spawn came at me punching like Mike Tyson and no matter how much I made it clear I was friendly I was losing blood and had to beat him down with a baseball bat. My 2nd and 3rd kill came about because of someone I had teamed up with was just crazy and picked a fight with everyone. Naturally they ran but one guy came back with a friend before I could work up the courage to just run (i was afraid he'd start on me next if I tried to leave) so that ended in a street battle where I beat them both down while my companion screamed into his mic (it was mad gibberish) and was pretty much useless when it came to blows. 4th kill came about in an airfield hidden near some woods. I had an M4 and some ammo and had let my guard down for a second to loot when this axe toting nutjob came in hacking so I shot him. Unfortunetely for me my real life mental condition makes me get hung up on the small things. That first and last fellows I killed were totally unreasonable but because of present company I ended up having to pretty much kill on sight because of him so thanks to the mentalness of my mind I felt like a dick. Does anyone feel bad for killing people or do you just enjoy KoSing. Post and brag or admit to the unsatisfying conclusion to what could have been a friendly encounter?

Do you leave your morality at the door?

Funny thing, I met somebody in a food shop and we got to talking while this other guy glitched through the floor. He seemed to be okay just phasing about so we ignored him as I helped this brand new player find his bearing. We went into the back to loot the shelves in storage and when I was about to leave the guy phasing through the floor earlier appeared out of nowhere pointing a mosen at me. Usually at this point I'd be like, "Darn it not again," but he shot me 4 times at close range and missed every single time. I just ran before he could release a fifth shot yelling into my mic "Run dude he's a terrible shot," but then the guy got lucky and got me in the leg so I couldn't walk. He must have thought I was dead because proceeded to gun down the new guy (D:) then came up to me and tried to loot my corpse. He couldn't and must have realised that was alive because he took aim to shoot me one last time when the gun clicked. The guy had forgot to reload before going back outside into the open, now I'm not exactly a veteren of Day Z but I always make sure I have my weapons loaded before going out into the open, especially so close to a food hot spot. So the guys empty and I can't help myself. For the first time ever in DayZ I taunt the guy saying, "Haha your empty," then I stand up, draw my axe and split his head open. That situation reminded me that not all Bandits are good shots, if you can't hit me at close range WHILE I'M STANDING STILL with a mosen then you may as well not Bandit people. It also made me feel like a badass by actually surviving for once but sadly my leg was broken so I crawled to the nearest hospital and and got killed by a Zombie. Sad face my friends...sad face

It's not like I'm sitting screaming in agony when my dude gets shot or hit or weeping for the loss of my survivor, I hit respawn just like everybody else.

I see your point but laughing at peoples opinions is quite simply rude. I understand that this is a game but also try and consider that there a fair amount of ROLEPLAYERS on roleplaying servers that want to experience the games immersion in a different way to Normal or Hardcore servers but when some douchebag server hops, fully geared, onto your Roleplaying server just to KoS because it's against the rules of that particular server then people have a right to be pissed when the rules are broken just for the sake of ruining someone elses fun.

Bandit's are realistic, no doubt, and add challenge to the game but being a Bandit isn't about KoS for that guys stuff. A Bandit doesn't have to act like a mindless gun nut, one bandit even took the time to act friendly before handcuffing me and robbing me. When ruined gear becomes useless I think the robberies will increase but there's nothing stopping a Bandit from killing you afterwards but it will stop a lot of KoS.

Good man, if you die helping someone 99 times out of 100 then it's worth it because that 1 person you helped knows there are decent players in DayZ SA
