So in honour of the 1,000,000 milestone... I'm sure that Dayz Team has much better graphs then these... but since they haven't shown any, I figured I'll share of the data I've tracked since late June. Just incase anyone happens to be interested... The data was noted down (a final time) in the evening (CET) each monday, but I took note of the stats each day, to spot any weird fluctuations. They are a bit too wide to incorporate properly in a post (and I can't seem to get this forum to let me post images to begin with) so I'll include the URL. http://i.imgur.com/RVQa5.jpg That's the link to 3 graphs, showing Unique Player growth, Users last 24h growth aswell as Time Played growth. I'll also include the raw data for anyone who's interested, also tracking deltas from week to week, and shows survivor to bandit ratios aswell as a very crude value for retention rate (# of alive characters vs unique players). Unique growth has slowed down a bit after the large exposure points at Rezzed, and an increase in interviews and coverage, where it jumped from 74k the pas week, to almost 200k the following week. Last 24h is always a bit tricky, and tends to fluctuate a lot over the weeks. It's heavily influenced by patches I've found. Over time, those have been smoothed out (i.e patch mid week, last 24h drops heavily, recovers by next monday). The last 2 weeks have seen a slump after the peak of 206k. If it's due to people waiting for the patch or just taking a break, I dunno. Personally I've gotten pretty tired of the duping and constant alt-f4-ing so I'm not too active anymore. Doesn't mean I'm not waiting with bated breath and ready to try out new updates! :) Time played is pretty straight forward, and as last 24h has dropped over the past 2 weeks, you can see time played evening out to a more linear structure during the same period. Well... other then that we've seen some really spectacular growth!! :D -

Yep, Im sure of it. The first huge spike was directly after the Rezzed event, which gave DayZ a LOT more coverage then previously. We also had, as you implied, several? steam sales during the spike periods. Lately, there hasn't been as much coverage, which probably accounts to the "slower" growth we've had the past 2 weeks. -

I personally like the huge leap after week 3 the most :) Last 24h didn't spike as much due to Dayz being between patches (I guess we had a lot of new players, but "veterans" were taking a break and waiting for ghillies etc to be fixed). It did spike heavily after week 4 though, once the patch had released and we had another big influx of new players. -

I took it from the stats on the main website yes. Deltas and such in the second link, are just showing increases week to week. Edit: ye, it might work with that bracket code, still, the jpgs would just mess up the thread structure due to width :) -
So far, haven't had any loading issues etc with the patch. 1. As many have observed, tents still seem broken, they still dupe by resetting to previous state after after restart. New tents still wipe their inventories after restart. (Server was running new hive version) 2. Might be unrelated to the patch, but my pickup just appeared half destroyed after restart, broken windshield glass etc etc. 3. Put on a ghillie recently after dying (with a Ghillie on). I had a Czech backpack on me when I put the new ghillie on, afterwards I had a coyote pack (8 slot). Bit torn about the respawn issue. On one hand it gets rid of the endless respawning you were sometimes "forced" to do, which I imagine cause a load issue on the hive or the like. It also makes dying more painful, which is good :) Having a spawn selection would be kinda bad aswell, as you risk even more "deathmatching" around cherno/elektro. Perhaps something along the line of choosing a spawn area such as south west coast, south, south east, etc. Still allows players to spawn fairly close to their friends, but should prevent continous respawns in the same town... Fix the tents (duping, make removal possible etc) and you can have all my beans :)

posted the wrong numbers, fixed it now. In any case, it all depends on how they classify bandits in the stats on the main page... Is it anyone with 1 murder? 2? etc, we don't know :) The actual ratio should be mostly isolated when it comes to who dies the most tho, as it's based on current alive characters. If you go by attempts vs murders, the rates end up around 15% aswell, but those are even harder to interpret. Considering how woefully inaccurate the "murder" stat is to begin with... It makes it even harder to judge banditry on stats. By that I mean, it doesn't take into regard the circumstances. Most of my murders in DayZ come from shooting people who shot at me first, but nonetheless it counts as a murder and probably makes the game consider me a bandit ^^ But going by angry forum posts is by no means a better judge of the extent of banditry... -

Been keeping track of DayZ stats on a weekly basis since 25th of June (back when we had ~300k unique). The Survivor/Bandit ratio has remained fairly even, with a decrease coming with the huge wave of new players last week and a further decrease this week. From the 25th of June to 22nd of July, the ratio has been: 18.15% 18.78% 18.44% 17.91% 17.68% -
Aww, I was SO hoping this would be fixed as one of the listed fixes was to fix the duping of barb wire etc etc... :( Got several tents that are dead give-aways of the campsite still... oh well

I've also run into this several times now. The tent duping where you put it down, pack it up and it reappears has been in for atleast a month. The tents losing items tho... I never had an issue with that before yesterday. We came across a BAF offroad that we, well, stole :) We brought it back to our site, found a heli crash site on the way, stuffed some loot into the BAF. Next day, BAF is there, but completely empty. As we were moving servers, our tents were still on another one. Last night, I moved one tent over and moved some items into it. This morning, tent is wiped again... As I said, never had this issue prior to the past 1-2 days, and we've used a LOT of tents... Edit: The tents on the other server which were put up almost a week ago, have no issues what so ever. -

I'd like to see another tent related bug fixed: If you place a tent down, then pack it up, recover it and move on, the tent will have reappeared after a server restart. This can easily cause tents to clutter up over time, and makes it hard to "hide" a campsite if you had a bad tent placement. Even if you repeatedly tear down the tent each time it respawns, at the next restart, it'll be back again... (so in essence, another tent dupe) -
DayZ - EU32, 18:00 GMT to atleast 19:30 GMT.

"[LLJK] Monkeys" seems to have hacked this server, as from atleast 18GMT on, the ingame map showed the location of all "BLUFOR" and zombies. We observed that a green "dot" was approaching one of our party, 700m from us, where we had our ATV (vehicles were also visible). He was coming at a very high speed and our member reported seeing him as rubberbanding around while crouched. Surprisingly, our party member managed to kill him in the exact same moment as he was killed himself (one shot). We were running back to get the gear from our fallen member, as the area was hit with an airstrike, at which point we immediately logged off for fear of being killed in various ways :) The gear of the guy in question was a DMR sniper, night vision gear and rangefinder, so ye... (no we didn't keep it, no fun to get those items this way). The guy started bombing various players with a jet after this first explosion. It's still ongoing as of 20:25 CET.
