RIP DayZ - Yogcast started a LP

I like how Xephos got shot in the face by his 'friend'.... classic.

    backpacks + vest pouch

This idea has been suggested multiple times already, once by myself a few weeks ago. We need to keep this all on one thread, that would make it alot easier for the devs to see our collective ideas. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=19358 http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=23920

Create a log in, prevents ID theft

Personally, I don't see the point. If someone wants to go 'under cover', let them. - They don't get your gear if they change their name. - It adds a degree of realism to the bandit vs. survivor struggle. Think about what bank/train robbers did in the 1800's once their name became known to the "Law". - You can change a name, but you can't change your voice, unless your REALLY talented of course. Change of name has no impact on direct communication, or 3rd party voice like TS3, Vent, Mumbles, etc.

Petition to spawn with a weapon!

No It's not that hard to get a gun. Adjust your play style. It takes less than an hour to get all you need to survive in the wilderness, if you know where to look. If you'd like, you can join my TS3 server this Saturday/Sunday night and I will help you with some techniques/tactics. I helped approx. 6 - 8 people this past weekend, most of whom where still on their first day playing, if not their first game all together. Search for my replies and you will see that I have offered to help newbies on multiple occasions. Steam ID is in my sig, send me a PM if you are interested.

    Hatchets Everywhere!

Hatchet smatchet, there are WAY to many watches in the grocery stores!
  6. Right now the presence of this item is pretty much useless. There are no benefits to 'downgrading' to a smaller pack. I would like to see this item changed to a 'tool kit' item with a seperate inventory space from what ever backpack you currently have equiped. Thoughts?
  7. Add me on Steam fellas!!! Steam ID is in my sig. I get off work in about an hour, so should be online within 2 hours. Gotta couple of other noobs that I'll be trying to help out too. I've been playing for several weeks now, so I'll help ya get your feet wet and show you the ropes!
  8. Log out in the woods, problem solved.

Simple Solution to Loot Farming via Server Hopping

Some sort of uniform formatting for server names in general would clear up ALOT of confussion....

Do more about Hackers and Cheaters. Be proactive.

"GM's" would be a good idea. But if they decide to do something along those lines, the "interview" process would need to be very extensive, and could prove to be quite time consuming. I'd rather the devs work on bug fixes at the moment. Hackers are an annoyance, and there are server admins that can ban/report them for now.
  11. I don't need a 'script' my keyboard supports macros, so does my mouse. Logitech "G" Series FTW!

A way to keep vehicles between servers

And add more incentive to server hopping? No! Then your going to end up with servers over loaded with vehicles, and others that have few to none. As it is now, vehicles are already hard to find/repair due to the hording by the larger bandit groups and clans. It will only get worse if they are capable of taking vehicles from other servers back to their "home" server.
  13. 1. Hardcoded server rules set by difficulty would be nice. Then you would know what your getting when you join a server, as opposed to the "Charlie Foxtrot" of different server settings that are currently being employed. 2. Don't restrict by 'timezone', restrict by region, if at all. Some of us are only able to play during evening and night time hours due to obligations with work and family. Why should we be punished for having a job, wife, and kids to take care of? 3. Taking away a players choice on what server they want to join based on the population level is just silly, I'll leave it at that.

Or you could stop suggesting that innocent players should be penalized because "ITS NOT FAAAAAAAAAIR!!!" It's not about whats 'fair'. Do you realize that server hopping has a negative impact on the performance of the DB that EVERY players info is written back to? It also has a negative impact on clogging up the servers, making it that much harder for players to get into their 'home' or 'frequently visited' servers because some douchebag is constantly logging in, looting, logging out, switching, and then coming back 10 minutes later. I would hate for you to have to actually learn the UTC Time Zones, but ZDB's suggestion does not 'penalize' innocent players. Most "innocent" players I know don't log out in high/med loot zones to begin with. They head for the shelter of the forests, where its safer to log in at. BTW, the tone of your opposition to the OP's idea leads me to believe that you are not as "innocent" as you claim to be. If logging in/out of servers had a negative impact on the database worth mentioning, there would be restrictions or devs requesting for players not to do so frequently. You're just trying to justify the ridiculousness of penalizing anyone not willing to spend an hour learning time zones or making definitive choices of servers so you can sleep at night knowing someone didn't get a few extra cans of beans that will last until they get brutally murdered. Not everyone logs on one server and stays their for hours on end. Don't penalize them because, again, "BUT ITS STILL NOT FAAAAAIR!!!" Sometimes, I'll take a good 10 minutes logging in and out of servers to find one that's right for me. Maybe I'll press enter by accident. The reason I sound angry is because, with this suggestion, I'm going to find a server at long last and find absolutely no loot because some kids thought it would be clever to do so. Learning UTC doesn't take an hour, just a quick Google search. http://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/ http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html Your "user error" arguement about hitting enter by accident is laughable. Whats not "fair" is spending an hour walking to one of the Airfields to find it void of loot due to the douchebags I mentioned in my previous post. How do I know it was the server hoppers? Because I have stumbled across multiple people logging back in to the barracks infront of me. I shoot, they DC to avoid death. Explain to me how THAT is fair?

    No business like snow business.

I know this isn't Minecraft, but Notch managed to get "snow accumulation" to work to a certain extent. This idea may not be possible with ArmA II's engine,... but maybe with ArmA III? Another way of approaching it, would be based off the region and date settings of the server. Chicago server in December = Chernarus hit by a blizzard?

Isn't Asus G75 good enough to play Dayz?

I don't rememeber exactly where I read/heard it. But there was an interview with Rocket and the other boys at BI. One of them stated that putting your settings on "Low" in ArmA II is actually bad for performance. It takes the load off your GPU and pounds the crap out of your CPU. Try going medium to high? Get the latest nVidia drivers? Make sure your laptops hardware drivers are up to date? And this may be a no-brainer to some,... but make sure your on AC power, not trying to play this game running on your battery.
