Aren't the tents supposed to be backed up and whatnot to prevent this kind of 'bug' from the server providers? Or is it still a bug in the code and tents aren't worth finding?

I selected the DayzDB map, but I also use Izurvive because it allows for privacy and locations of friends.

Maybe, but a large portion of that crowd isn't even old enough to own the game...

The stream last week mentioned needing burlap sacks to 'create' camo for tents and other items, but I have an idea that may or may not be easy/feasible. Can we rip and/or tear up pants (and camo jackets) to create camo and other items? Maybe we'll need a knife or shears to tear them up, but when they're ripped up they have TONS of uses. They could be tied/braided together to create camo, rope-swings (to get out of windows), they could be used to make splints, they could be wrapped around fore-arms to help stop zombies or knife wielding bandits. Maybe the strips are used to help fix backpacks (same strong material). Other ideas I have is combining rope so that we actually have lengths of rope, fish/crap cages on the coasts by wooden docks for food generation. Needs: Sticks and rope/strips of cloth.

So much for DayZ being a game...

I'm pretty sure that's the point of having private shards, which they are in the process of working on for full implementation.

I'm trying to remember the movie where the character tied several sticks parallel to his forearms and it helped protect his forearms from whatever he was being attacked with. But, it's also 4 am, so who knows what's going through my head.

Funny, I didn't realize that 'pvp' meant mindless shooting.

To me, a big part of thinking that I'm "surviving" is being able to build a camp. Once a person gets geared up, what is there to do other than PVP type stuff? Once you get geared up, what are your other objectives? In 'real life', you'd want to build up supplies and work on your security. Other than tents (which are the first important step of persistence and building a base), there isn't much to do in either respect. You could just explore, but that's the exact same risk as making runs into towns for anything else and meeting up with people, leading to PVP.

DayZ without PVP is boring.

Except that in the real world, the "M4" is definitely not the weapon of choice for special forces anywhere. In DayZ land, where we all reside, the AKM is pretty much just as 'versatile' with attachments.

My scariest moment was being trapped inside a jail in Balota by people who were glitched into walls/floors and could see my every move, talking with people outside who were waiting for me to log out to rush in. I had to wait for like an hour before the server reset, tension the entire time.

I had one until my character got reset by servers (not an official wipe). Just 'losing connection' then when I join, I'm a fresh spawn.

I haven't had a problem with that, but I haven't changed the keybinding for Bandicam, either, it's still F11. Do you have a key-bind disagreement, or are you hitting 'alt' or 'tab' or 'ctrl' at the same time when hitting f11? Also, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.

If we're getting rain, can we at least get a poncho? Can we slip a rain jacket on top of our clothing, like real life? In the same way, "Wellies" should be fit OVER boots, not replace them.
