Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
brazorf replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Pro - more zombies is a better thing. Cons - chasing speed is ok, but combat animation speed is not. they keep turning around and around (with a very low hit rate), making melee combat BORING - run from them seems flawed, hard to break their LOS - spawn policy should however allow area cleaning, even if for a short time In short: 1) keep a good amount of them 2) slow them down until physics, collision and proper detection LOS fix 3) the real threat should be finding yourself outnumbered. Strengthen them in 1v1 makes them poor conceived zombies -
I would like, once persistent object are supported, to get a shovel, dig a hole and stuff items inside. Then cover the hole and let my items buried. Would be nice to use some waterproof material aswell, slowing items deterioration.

I've just been shot, on my legs, and fell unconscious. I was about to hit "respawn", when my character stood up, vision black and white. I tried to apply some bandages, then i fell unconscious again... and then wake up again. My clothes and stuff were ruined on my legs, but the rest of my inventory was full and untouched. Now, 1) the guy who shot me used a defibrillator on me 2) in some case you can auto recover from unconsciousness?
-
Ok thank you guys!
-
Ok, so i think i were definitely knocked out by shock (wonder why he didnt finish me). What is not clear to me, is whether it makes sense using an epi pen on myself, after recover.
-
Lol, seems like i missed something important here. So i've got two more questions - i injected an epi pen, just to be sure not to fall again. did i waste it? - how to tell a dead enemy from an unconscious one?
-
I've been hit at least 3 times with bleeding, and lost some because ive spent time before i found a safe place where stop and apply bandages. According to this awesome set of videos (http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159251-merinos-in-depth-video-guides-feb-11th-updated-to-034115106-new-status-indicators-rebalancing-of-hunger-thirst-stomach-blood-and-health-reg/), dark green energized + not thirsty = blood regeneration. I am dark green energized and fully hydrated since some hour. As i recall, blood regen doesnt show in an indicator, while health regen does. I've not seen "healing" status yet, should i conclude that i lost blood without losing health, or regeneration system has been changed?

Health and blood regeneration after last patch
brazorf replied to brazorf's topic in General Discussion
My bad, i was wrong. You go "healing" when your energized status is bright green, now and before the patch. -
I would like to add in some element, mostly those who make this matter a dangerous gameplay breaker as i said before. The point i'm trying to make here is that i would like to see people walk under normal conditions - run from danger. Running and sprinting should be considered as a resource in the future, to be carefully administrated. As i can shoot walls and waste ammo, eventually to be unarmed when needed, running is the same: i can sprint everywhere, to later regret when i'm out of stamina and something really bad is chasing me. I think and hope that long term goal with this game will change when we reach beta. In a survival scenario, i would travel around until i find a safe place to stay: then, i would focus on keeping it safe. I would move to fast raid to increase my stock, improve my defenses (barricades, traps, etc.). Why should i consider a good approach perpetually moving from town to town? This is probably one of the many reasons why Rocket talked about a "flawed game", but im still interested in understanding what you guys think about. I am very close to Kalme position - but i fear we are a small minority

I like this. I was thinking about survival, so thought about bury food, drinkables, and various goods. Don't like the idea of burying weapons - not for the idea itself, but for the way it would be used (or abused)

Health and blood regeneration after last patch
brazorf replied to brazorf's topic in General Discussion
I tried right now, and i moved into "healing" status after reaching the light green energized. I'm pretty sure that the dark green has this same effect, before patch -
Cool! I do bother, instead. Would be nice to know if ive spent 80 hours walking slowly while i could have ran with the same effect
-
From latest patch changelog: but i didn't find where to trigger this action. Any hint?
-
As i said ive no idea of a good balanced system. Only asking about a concept here

One more thing, little OT. I sometime run upstairs when chased. Let alone physics issues (being hit through the floor, lol), i feel like they are following me from the underlying floor. Example: i climb a building ladder to the roof, move to the other side of the building, and theyre waiting me on the ground, other side. How the fuck are they supposed to hear or spot me?
-
May be, but i fear we would regret this as a fresh spawn
-
Not so easy to spot if i bury my stuff inside a forest imo

Lol guys, dont stick with pointless realism things. Who cares if door opening isn't realistic!? I would like them to open as if pushed, ALWAYS. At this time, with low fps, movement issues and other things it may takes several seconds to point the cursor in the right spot, wait for the door pushing you aside, move side to center door line, go in. Wtf! You want realism? Ok, so lets make them locked, as 90% of them would be in real world. Then we can eventually stop bothering about opening direction, and die eaten or shot on the door mat.

I've already tried equip / equip+combat / and scroll wheel but nothing. So right clicking while container is in inventory, right? I'll try soon
-
Thanks for the answers. I still have some doubt though, i'm aware about LOS so when trying to sneak around them i always make sure they're facing the opposite direction. Anyway i'm sure enough that i got aggro while walking crouched to the back side of that focker. Is there any documentations or dev blog post about it?

Honestly ive only seen improvement after this update, ive less lag problems than before and game runs smooth, think ive gained some fps. Ive only played couple of hours though
-
Where to get the new updates when they're released? I mean, there will be lots of server side improvement but i've read about map additions and other things that live on client side, so where should i go for updates?
-
Tomato i agree with your first argument, but as i said some time ago, we should remember this is an alpha version. I'm pretty sure that spawning gear in focused places and therefore making up a pvp zone in certain areas is strategic in this phase, as if you're in search for some player interaction you will know where to go. Most of server actually host about 10 players at once (often less, or we may have a 35 peak), and should the game force people wandering around in that huge map, causing lots of dispersion, could cause people quitting the game imo. At least, this would have been my concern in devs shoes. However, understood that, i'm the guy keeping far distance between me and the airfields, and i'm still having fun, and i've shot 5 bullets in 1 month (4 for test, 1 to actually kill something). Again, sorry for my english, have fun, and be patient ;)

I'm asking since i'm here from couple of weeks only. How often are updates released? I've recently read that cooking/campfires are being developed, 2 weeks sprint. Does this mean we're gonna have an update in few weeks?
