eat until "lime green" energized is indicated drink until "lime green" hydrated is indicated a little while later, make sure to keep these stats up (stuff your character but don't make him puke) - you should see a "healing" indicator appear, but it takes time to start the healing process.

Actually, here is the thing. You are playing with 40 other people right (if on a heavily populated server)? There are several military bases that housed hundreds (if not thousands) of soldiers; so if this was 'realistic' - we would actually be armed to the teeth when visiting a base. Not to mention going house to house - how many people were hunters? I love how people are always complaining that it is "easy to get a gun" or that there are "too many guns." If a zombie scenario actually happened, especially here in the USA - guns would be all over the place. Lets just say the soldiers abandoned the base in a hurry because of the infected zombies - would they have time to pack up a few thousand guns and millions of rounds of ammunition? I think not. So, when you enter a military base and only find two guns on a freshly booted server - I find that highly improbable and unlikely. 40 people, in a country that is overrun by zombies would be geared to the teeth if they knew how to survive. ;)

did they fix the lag issues?

Why you should be playing on Experimental.
kroms001 replied to Forrelist's topic in General Discussion
Every server I have been on in "stable" - same issue. Bad lag - so it has to be a build issue. I usually play in experimental, but as of late the servers seem to be down, or there are only a few up and they are maxed out with players. Some have 40, I have seen up to 50 though. -
Creepiest moment in this alpha... ever BE CAREFUL
kroms001 replied to atum3007's topic in Troubleshooting
Just stop already. Maybe he didn't force quit, maybe the server rebooted, maybe the server puked and he had to log in again. If he force quit, why would he log in to the same server?? You make illogical accusations sir, since it is well known that there are major lag issues in the current "stable" alpha release. He could have a T3 connection and this still would happen. -
So K9Alex is it your opinion that fat people are fake or non-existent? Because here in the USA it is an epidemic. He states that he wants "FAT ZOMBIES" bro. How is that "unrealistic stuff"?? Next time, read the post... because I don't think you did.

Yes, yes it is. The space bar is you getting into attack mode. This was the experimental build that went to stable build. There are a few differences. ;) There are more zombies, they aggro faster and they are more aggressive.
-
there ya go :) - yeah, I am not familiar with the legalese, but that is exactly it.

Totally disagree. Your worth, and Irish's worth are the exact same as someone who just purchased the game because guess what? We all invested in it. So, yes - we are investors in a round about way. Anyone who purchased this game spent their money because they wanted to help push this game forward. I don't care who played the mod and who didn't, the mod was free and didn't help with the financial development of this game to push it to retail. GiantofBabil bought the game, I bought the game, you bought the game, and we are all entitled to tell the developers how we feel. Your words are worth the same amount as Giant's because, guess what? You spent the same amount of cash as all of us did. You are not elite, you are not higher up, but you are actually on all the fellow purchasers level. The experience that you speak of, the community that you speak of = the people who invested money in this game. Welcome aboard.

You are missing the point. Yes, you are a regular person - and a regular person would learn things and implement them - it doesn't require any "level ups" - people would learn to cope and survive. In game, if you just start playing on your first day you don't know wtf you are doing at all. You progress as a player, knowing which houses spawn loot, what weapons kill zombies and what weapons don't, you learn where the bandits hide, what tree lines to run and learn the lay out of the game. As a player, you can not forget that knowledge and "level down" can you? A player with one hour of in game experience is no match for a player with 100 hours. So, if you really need to have a "XP system" keep a close eye on in game hours. ;) Otherwise, any other take on an XP generated system is just pure silliness.

In the zombie apocalypse there are no level ups. There isn't some wizard here that is going to save your ass with a level 20 fireball, or magic missile.
-
Right now, usually people wearing gas masks are designated as bandits or KoS players. There is really no use for gas masks at this time as a valued item because they don't do anything but cover your face. They don't offer any protection from zombie attacks, getting sick or anything else... why add more if they don't do anything?

For the love of god please fix some basic mechanics first.....
kroms001 replied to JT111's topic in General Discussion
I kind of see both sides of the story here, and can agree with both sides actually. Not everyone is going to be happy, but everyone was warned not to buy the game. One point about the dev team is that they need a little more structure. While this is an alpha build, there has to be a middle ground between the investors (which are the players) and the dev team. I do think that we as a community of people who've invested in this game need to keep pressure on the developers, yet we also have to remember that this is just an alpha. There does need to be updates at a much faster pace, even if it is a small thing like fixing the wildlife from screaming like zombies... because, well - that is just silly and an easy fix. They already have a sound selection programmed for various animals in the game that is defaulted to... zombie? So, yeah, that right there just screams 'lazy' to me. Also, it isn't that hard to stop the zombies from clipping into structures and features either. While players do rubber band and 'clip' through walls etc; most of the time our 3D characters can not pass through buildings/fences etc. Are the mechanics/AI of the zombies so messed up that they couldn't have the same restrictions as our characters in game? So, to me at least it isn't a hard fix to stop zombies from walking through everything. I am sure the programming for the zombie's 3d representation can not be that far off from a human controlled character representation. So, yeah that is another "laziness" issue for me. -
actually there is a new zombie gargle sound that I have heard.
-
There are some zombies that do that gargling noise now... must be a new sound though, because I have only started hearing it recently. Sounds like a "wet gargle" right?
-
There is also another way to fix this that was pointed out to me by a few friends of mine. Get an axe, baseball bat or blunt weapon of choice out and find the nearest building wall (outside) and hit it a few times. It works instantly, and lasts for a long time (at least in my experience it has).
-
While the melee weapon / space bar issue is usually contributed by lag on the servers end, it sounds like you have a faulty keyboard. I could be wrong, but I have never experienced the other issues. Now that I think about it - maybe you are on a heavily lagged server? If you are trying to hit a zombie, nothing happens - you run away after getting smacked around by the zombie and suddenly your weapon discharges - that can be contributed to lag as well. I have never had my weapon just fire on its own.
-
Also, I am sure all the vets know this - but for the n00bz, in game voice chat not only can/will aggro zombies - it gives your position away to other players. The only time I use in game VOIP is to tell a player to put their weapon down/holster it or to trade with someone that is not part of the group I am with. As always, if a person is not communicating with you they are up to something.
-
Ventrilo is the way to go. I have only experienced lag once, and that is because the other person had a very bad internet connection.
-
They should put "Hold banana as a gun option," and yes - holster it too.
-
It rains in Chernarus more than it does in an Amazon rain forest LOL
-
Pretty sure it will all change when there are more zombies in the game and they are more aggressive. I take it you haven't tried the experimental build yet? If you are not healthy, one hit from a zombie will make you bleed. The zombies on experimental also spawn all over the place from gunshots, voip, and flashlights. I have seen a few lunge 10-15 feet for an attack (could have been lag/rubber banding - but the people I was with saw it happen too). If you are properly equipped, sure it helps - but by yourself it is much more dangerous when trying to loot and five zombies are trying to eat you, and as a new spawn - forget it. Also, good luck in finding an empty experimental server during prime time ;)
-
it is an alpha - which means it isn't even in beta - so, bugs - exploits and everything in between are fair game to post. Why? Because it makes people aware of the situation so that it gets fixed faster. If this was retail and people were posting "exploits" it would be a different story and should be moderated, but it isn't.
-
That isn't true at all. On high population servers even the loot up north is gone because the geared up people already have traveled inland and have taken it. Unless you have a few friends in game, if you are a new spawn on a high pop server - you will starve.
