Wow more people complaining about the lack of info. Basically, Dean and the guys said this broken patchworky way is how its done, and if you dare go against the mods with it, even with proof from other sources that the info is scattered, you will be attacked. I even had Boneboy er whatever his name is, a Forum Administrator, tell me to get off my high horse, because the info was just as scattered, if not worse, than when i was temp banned a week ago. Also, im under surveillance with my posts, they read them all before allowing me to post, all because i was OFF topic and spamming. Thats a lot of work for moderators to do, read every coment from every person that was temp banned. Or is it just me your watching? And to clarify, most of my posts, or at least the ones that were "spam" were never about the state of the alpha, just the state of these forums. Thats a no no. Im getting off my high horse and back in line guys. The info is all there, and here, and over here, and there. just go look for it.

Yeah, a month is definitely not enough time for making patch notes.

Ahh i see the titles been changed, good job. As for experimenting i have done none, as i have rubberbanding issues and get shot from point blank range from someone who appeared in front of me. -
Why I didn't appeal my temporary ban ( and more critique on info)

Also, why is the quote from the international digital times, blacked out, and the only way to read it is to highlight it? -

Not recommending the game is not from lack of info, but rather, treatment of newcomers to the community by moderators. You can say it nicely, but its still true. -

There are not empty threats at all, in fact, its already been done. Again you guys proved my point, i came back with constructive criticism and suggestions and i'm met with attitude and condescension. "We cannot spoon feed everything directly into your eyes." Thanks again for the condescension, I really appreciate it. Good luck with your development and whatever testing you guys can manage. No one said your a megacorporation, but there are at least 3 other websites that are better organized with more info, perhaps link new players to them? "We are not a mega corporation and dont have control over every aspect and flow of info. We do what we can though, so think before you type." Perhaps you can just change the title form 0.42 from March, to 0.43, because no servers are running the version in the title. Sorry if this somehow upsets you guys, which it obviously does. -

You have been placed on moderator queue. This means that all content you submit will need to be approved by a moderator before it will be shown.<----- Really? just for "off topic and spam", fair enough. Hello all, I have returned. I am here to explain why i didn't appeal my ban, and also why my comments were so abrasive (NOT abusive). I was temp banned for off topic/spam. I disagree, but respect the decision so i patiently waited for the ban to be up. Now i am back, and here to voice my concerns yet again, in a more "tolerable manner" as to not give any moderator an excuse to silence me. Since this is the thread i started, all my posts will be on topic, not spam, with no swearing, and critical. You heard me, critical. Before i start i thought i'd throw this quote, form the International Digital Times "Sadly, no one has published a complete set of patch notes for DayZ Standalone experimental build 0.44.123800, leaving fans of the game with little option but to cobble together a patchwork change log based on early reports from other players and post-release tweets from Hall. On the plus side, members of reddit have proven quite adept at such tasks in the past, and a rough outline of the DayZ Standalone v0.44.123800 change log is already beginning to take form on the DayZ sub-reddit." Go reddit, i guess. Is this really how you want to present your notes? "Cobbled together a patchwork changelog"? So myself, a number of forum participants, a moderator of this site( of which I'm sure his comment has surely been hidden), a professional journalist for a distinguished website, and an obviously one sided poll here on the forums, agree that the info is sparse, all over the place, and delivered by different people to different websites at different times, which is incredibly unnecessary. When you, the moderators, took notice, the overall message you conveyed was to leave this forum, and find it elsewhere. ( Even using a link from this forum to another website for info, is in fact, leaving here to go somewhere else.) Rolling Update Rev - 0.42.116181 Posted 19 March 2014 - 05:47 AM POPULAR Branch: Stable Version: 0.43.116251 Hotfix specific changes This is the problem. Right there. March 19th was when it says it was last updated, and the title is still for 0.42. You cant blame someone, who comes here for info, sees that and leaves, then gets unofficial info from cobbled together patch notes from players. Then has no real clue what the hell is ACTUALLY going on. The experimental server is running 0.44. Stables running 0.43. The title is STILL for 0.42, from March. I'm terribly sorry, but there's no excuse for that , at all. Its pretty bad when the "cobbled together patchnotes" are more up to date, and organised, than the official forums. That being said. I do NOT want a moderator, to tell me to use the Devtracker, or Reddit, or any other third party, then inadvertently pass the blame onto the user (in a nice way, i guess) for not looking for info in these other places. Believe it or not guys, people that didn't play the mod, bought this game. People unfamiliar with forums, patch notes, development, programming and everything else people make fun of us for not knowing, bought this game. i know a few people that got a PC just for the standalone, and guess what? They dont play it. They moved onto other games, because they had no idea what was going on, what was new, where to go, or anything else. They came here before I did, and then told me that it made no sense. Silly me, i defended this forum. I said, "its the OFFICIAL forums, thats where anyone would expect to go for info." Surprise! That is why i was so upset initially. Brand new PC gamers, are now turned away from Early Access games, and anything related to Dayz at all, and with brand new IP's with similar concepts coming, can you guys really afford to turn people away from here and say, "have you tried google? Here is a link for twitter, and reddit" Imagine there confusion. This is the place to go for info and discussion, and they are basically told to leave. Something is very, very wrong here guys, and i cant shake the feeling that your not acting as professional as you could regarding information availability. Rather than try and defend this,(which you have been doing acting like there's not a problem, despite overwhelming evidence) how about a simple " How can we make it easier?" How can we help you better understand where we are in development and what you should be testing?" This is why i was so ragey on the comments. Because this literally hurts my head. I am an independent business owner, and an avid gamer, but I will have you know, i have no longer kept any Bohemia Interactive affiliated software or games within my establishment. I will for sure, stay away from any and all new games form either this company, or Deans new one. I am not trying to make a point, or tell anyone to rally against this with torch and pitch fork, but not only have you lost a customer, but you've lost my professional recommendation for an open world zombie survival game, when any customer asks me. You guys need to realize, your not the only one anymore. Thanks for reading, Rusty. -

Poll: Are you happy with update news/management?
RustyBlade replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Careful, i tried to prove this point, then they locked the thread and hid all of my relevant posts. There is no winning here, and they are NOT open to criticism. If you dont like the way the infos handled, too bad. Go to `10 different sites, it makes no difference to the mods that you PAID to TEST a game, no no. Most companies hire testers, you guys have testers paying you, and we are still treated like we just downloaded the mod for free and are asking for unreasonable things outside the realm of possibility. Look up the definition of official people. How many things say" the official place to go before you have to go to other 3rd party sites cause theres nothing here" ? Professional, not so much. -

RustyBlade replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
No i am not acting like i pay a subscription, and expecting info on an official forum is in no way, shape, or form, an unreasonable request. You want to bounce between 7 sites to get info for ONE game, go right ahead, but when i go shopping, i dont get eggs here, milk there, pasta over there, i go to a central hub f food and get all i need there. The rest of the world operates in the most efficient way possible, unless its here than its the communitys fault for not scouring the internet for information. Pathetic. After Boneboys has hidden like 5 of my posts, either because i prove a rather valid point, or he didnt like how i worded it, I am definitely leaving this community and game. cue the obligatory "good riddance" ect, ect. Cant express distaste or they silence you, cant prove them wrong, or they silence you. Unorganized AND you control what people say? WOW, this forums way worse than i initially thought. I can see removing a post or 2, but 5? And you want to call me entitled because i expected a successful gaming company to update their official site? Yup im entitled then. -

Exactly. I copied and pasted a tumblr post to here so people could have up to date info, can someone explain to me whats so hard about that and having a staff of this forum do the same? Why are you relying on multiple third party sites, all updated at different times, when this exists. The message i am receiving from the mods is that this forum is useless. go to Twitter, go to tumblr. wtf guys. -
Poll: Are you happy with update news/management?
RustyBlade replied to Ugly (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The problem isnt that they are less official, its the fact that its NOT here at all,. ALL info should be on ALL sites, not spread amongst 4 of them.I HAD TO go to tumblr to get info why? its NOT here, I HAD TO go to steam to get a hotfix update-WHY? cause its NOT HERE. IF the MODS of this forum dont think thats an issue, than something is most definitely wrong. Stop trying to defend your obviously disorganized forum, as i am NOT the only person complaining about it, but i am the most avid about it. I dont even like the freaking game that much, its the principle that applies. Info SHOULD most definitely be accessible across ALL supported sites. To prove my point , a USER had to make this poll, cause he noticed 106 pages of people wondering whats going on. Where was the mod in the announcement page that admitted communication is completely broken?. QUIT trying to hid behind" its not important" or" it wasnt relevant" cause if it wasnt relevant i wouldve never seen it in the first place. Whoevers job it is to get all the info in one place is failing hard. Ban me, cause of right this second, i am NOT going anywhere, until this is cleaned up. And posting the link to where i reposted their tumblr onto the official forums proves my point further, so thanks for that. How hard was that, honestly? Copy, make a new thread called whatever its called on tumblr, and paste it here. Done deal, no more ' What? the latest announcements for 0.xx but im playing 0.yy??" Not all of us are familiar with how they roll out the changes, so if they change the version number you are playing, you will notice and probably go to the OFFICIAL forum to find info, then you will find a simple" it was changed for a hot fix guys- heres wat was fixed" _ then list of WHATEVER. We don't care if nothing that affected gameplay was changed, keep us in the loop, the ENTIRE loop, considering we are helping fund, AND test the game. Not. Hard. -

Funny, it was noteworthy enough for the team to put it on steam, but not on the official forums? Ahh i AM delusional, thanks. From now on i will not come here, participate in discussions or any other involvement in the game, i will stick with the actually updated steam, or other sites that the Dev team has deemed worthy of hotfix notices, and any other changes that happen that affect the game. Again, my mistake for coming to the official forums, i WILL NOT make this mistake in the future, thanks Moderators. -
