    DayZ: Mod or Standalone?

    So I have been turned towards DayZ by an old friend of mine. I have been watching a lot of the Frankie vids and I love the way he displays the game in a story mode. I have also been watching just about every vid I've found on youtube and I really want to play, but I'm wondering if I should get the mod version for arma 2 or grab the standalone. I know the the standalone is in its infancy, but will it eventually surpass the mod? or will it be on par?

    I absolutely love the story Frankie has going, and understand it's only a story, because it is heavily edited. I have also been watching other vids, so I know that there is a huge contrast between Frankie and others. I was more interested in just finding whether the SA would be the better way to go because I know it's in Alpha now and has a lot to be added, so I was wondering if I should go with it and have fun watching it grow into a great game, which I had a feeling it would do so, because everything I have heard about it, it is going to be magnificent. So thanks for the reply and I will definitely look at getting it once my computer is finished being repaired... damn Geek Squad...
