    Right, man.
  3. What do you think about the possibility to get infected by a Zombie in DayZ? Maybe one can slowly turn to a Zomb - very slowly - and one may loose control for a while in the beginnig and when the infection is not stopped and you finaly loose contol - your game will be over. Zombies may not attac infected ones even when they are attaced by them so an infected One can be a great Zombie-Slayer - so that it can be usefull for a team to add an infected One to the group. People you are traveling with will have to decide when it is to dangerous to travel with you. May there be a possibility to cure the infection - or not? What do you think about that idea? :)

    getting infected by a Zomb...

At the moment the Zombies in DayZ can walk under water when they try to follow you when you are swimmning. A normal player gets unconscious when you beat his head - a DayZ Zombie is getting down too - but getting up immediatly. You sometimes need to beat him down 10 times before he´s finally finished. They may not rise from their grave but I think they are defintetly dead.

    getting infected by a Zomb...

That would be dangerous Zombies indeed... But in my opinion Zombies should act like Zombies and not behave tactical like intelligent players.

    getting infected by a Zomb...

Hmm, once I run away from a Zomb, jumped into the water and tried to reach an island by swimming. The Zomb followed me, walking under the water. If they are "alive" that won´t be possible.

I tried to catch it... eat it... it run away... :(

    my first rabbit

Maybe there is only this one special rabbit hopping around in the game, making the crazy eating/drinking noises to test players attention and wake up camping bandits. :)

    getting infected by a Zomb...

ok, we ´ll see how they will be described in the end.

    getting infected by a Zomb...

Yes, it depends on the question if it will be possible to heal the Zomb-Infection or just keep the infected One alive for a while before he dies withe certainty. I think the Infection should be finaly deadly after a while.

    getting infected by a Zomb...

    So do only corpses transform?

    getting infected by a Zomb...

I think a Zombie is just a dead body - without any humanity left - "something" controlls this body, but NOT the free will of the person it was before. An infected One is still a human beeing - something of the person is left that is stronger than the infection and STILL CONTROLLS the body. But that fight will be lost at some point. That´s the idea.

    getting infected by a Zomb...

No, I didn´t play the mod. Spawning as a Zombie may not be a good idea. When you completely loose controll it should be the end - every humanity is gone. But how can all those Zombies exist when there is no way to be infected? Do bodys only transform AFTER death?

    Breaking "IT"

Hello! First: My English is not perfect - sorry about that. I like the Idea of DayZ - there is much potential in it to bekome something very unique in the big world of computergames. I like the aspiration of realism, the sound and the impressive graphic - that´s really fun. But what I really regard highly, what was the stimulus for me to buy the alpha was the psycho-social or/and the philosophical aspect. Crazy eh? DayZ is NOT just one more (maybe extra good looking) shooter and I hope, DayZ will never become a simple shooter-game. That should be the object of this topic. We are human survivors of a zombie apocalypse in DayZ and there are three enemys: Death from starvation, sickness, weakness etc.ZombiesBandits But we all know, what´s the worst one - the real threat: The other Players. After a short while you find out that you can´t, you shouldn´t trust anybody - maybe except your friends you know in real life, you are connected with via teamspeak. You all may have experienced that: "I am friendly" - are the last words you hear before you die. So what did that experience automaticaly to you? You saw an other player with or without a weapon - and you fast killed him - just to protect yourself from beeing killed. You didn´t need anything from him, you were energized, hydrated, healthy - but you killed him like a coward from behind without knowing him or his/her purposes. The effect of that: This player you killed experienced the same thing like you before. Maybe he wasn´t a bandit or didn´t want to play one. But next time he will ACT like a simple bandit - just to protect himself or because of simple rage. This behavior, this logical (evil) system continues, it is taken to the next player that was killed - and multiplikates - and multiplikates... and will rule the whole game one time. I call it "The IT" - players become the Zombies. I am not talking about Survivors that rob other players - and preferably keep them alive - because they are needy. To face or do a robbery and to survive it makes it possible to get real deep in the game. You are completely robbed - but your story can continue. Bandits are part of such a game - it would be boring without them. Bandits, cowards are realistic in that kind of world (and not only in that world). But the absolute domination of Bandits and automatic Bandit-behaviour would turn DayZ to a simple LOOTER-SHOOTER and that would take away much of the potential and the uniqueness of this rising star in the world of games. Maybe the developers can think about that problem too. So - if you want to be more than a Zombie - don´t let "IT" rule you! :D "Keep the fire in your heart" - and maybe watch this movie to know, what I am talking about: http://theroad-movie.com/ ;)

    Breaking "IT"

Yes, I made s.o. waste his ammo too many times. He finally shot me - to get a badly damaged hat. And yes, I acted like a retard too once and beat a stranger to death - just because of rage. The "IT" caught me, that´s absolutely silly - I know now. But some people kill just because of fun, to have the feeling of power or sth. They don´t even need rage for that behavior. Yes...the people are different.

Another possibility not to KoS... :) If you are able to knock so out while he is reloading or before he can act is also possible - but... might be dangerous.

Thank you for this tip! Never heard about that. Good luck to you too in the game. :beans:

Sounds like a shocking book but no book can be harder than reality.
