Hey guys, someone of you know how long I have to wait until I starved to death? Reason is that I got stuck in a wall and can't do anything.. logged out and back in again, tried to "v", nothing.. my screen isn't even grey yet (have a ticket at support, but I guess that will take some time too) damn that zombie which pressed me into it.. @tiadashi: tried it two times.. but when exactly shall i press it? during "wait for host", during the following 99 spawn seconds oder in the "please wait" screen after the spawn seconds counter.. and keep it pressed or press it repeatedly?

Have already been on that site.. do I have to make a new account for the feedback tracker? And I don't see a button for making a note. Plus my ID isn't shown like in the example.. it's http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/(number)/ (number)= ID ? If yes, where do I set up a note then/submit an Issue??

If you really just want to get equipped as fast as possible here are the best routes: if you take Solnichny as the starting/spawning point, you can arrive in about 40 minutes at Balota Airfield, it is quite like 20 mins to Elektro and another 20 minutes to BA. You can almost run straight through to it without starving, if you do starve though, make a stop at piano building / office building / markets in elektro / cherno. At BA you can equip yourself in less than half an hour with high end stuff, scopes, military clothes without encountering lots of other people (far less than berezino / NE Airfield / Elektro). If you spawn north of Solnichny and it is too far to Elektro / BA run straight on to Berezino, plunder the two piano buildings, the office building and the police station and you should have already found sth. To get military clothes and the M4 plus scopes for all the rifles you just run straight on to NE Airfield. Takes about 15 minutes from Berezino. Of course for that whole running straight through thing you should do it on low pop servers and I have to tell you that it could become quite boring just running straight to the best looting places, getting high end geared in no time and then being done. I would recommend doing it on middle-high pop servers by sneaking from point to point, which is much more exciting, and/or, if you got a weapon, hunting someone with more stuff and kill them.

Joined 4 different servers last evening in Berezino, ran from police station to piano building to office building to piano building to fabric building and vice versa. All servers had a pop between 20 and 30, met only on the last two servers people, one fresh spawn and one half geared/no weapon guy. Not really enough for a deathmatch..

Hey, every once in a while I get this bug(?) when I press my alt key for looking around while running/walking it doesn't switch back to normal mode when I lift my finger of the key and I can't change my direction anymore (via mouse). I can only run straight back or forth or strafe while still having that 360° vision. Someone knows how to solve this? I always have to get myself into a save place and relog, then I can normally use my mouse for changing the direction again..

Berezino no hotspot anymore?
MarchmelloMan replied to TheLoneSurvivior's topic in General Discussion
Mh where exactly are most players going there? Is it it only the region around the two piano buildings? I went to Berezino on a full server a couple of times and didn't meet someone. Except for one guy who just logged into the piano building, probably just server-hopping. Walked from the piano buildings to the fabric building there, perhaps I just had bad luck or where are the "action spots"? -
Is there just one girl on this forum or in this game ?
MarchmelloMan replied to Ludz's topic in General Discussion
In over 150 hours of playing I encountered three players that were "confirmed" girls - I have to add though, that I don't encounter nice people I can talk to that often or, I start a fight before they can explain themselves. There are servers though, were you could meet some. With partners. I joined a server called (translated) german couples server and I really met a couple, was like a wonder. Thought the name was just attractive for aggressive bandits, but.. I could really meet a girl and a man that were obviously a couple. Btw an interesting - or rather funny - experience cause the girl told the man what to do :D -
Feedback about shootgun. Another frustrating episode
MarchmelloMan replied to GunnyITA's topic in General Discussion
Got one-shotted yesterday evening.. guy was 2-3 metres in front of me, had no chance to deal with it. If I ever see someone again with a shotgun, I'll really have to try to keep a distance.. my M4 is not really worth much against that weapon indoor -

MarchmelloMan replied to GunnyITA's topic in General Discussion
That was not my point. I just explained, that you don't get a valid picture of the situation if people only post about things, that don't work the way they want it. That doesn't mean that the tool is inaccurate, it could just mean that they don't know how to use it correctly, even more, if it is not easy to use. And no, a shotgun should not be precise in 60-100 metres, and most people don't get a kill with SKS or M4 at a several hundred metres, it is much too hard to aim on that range plus the target will just flee and you have to get closer. Of course, possible. But after far over 100 fights, I got really rarely shot above that range if not by a Mosin with a LRS or you have someone standing still (logging out or afk). So I think the shotgun is fine and it gets your target killed in close range (indoor), plus it functions just like in reality. Hard pew in very close and sprays a lot in higher range. -

You are right, but the thing is.. people only complain when something is not working the way they want it. Meaning, they don't open a thread named "Hey guys, the shotgun is functioning wonderful!" and want to tell about it. And since the shotgun is only for very close range and it is not easy to hit with it, lots of people dont come along with it. Making it effective for higher ranges, it wouldn't be much different than the SKS, Blaze 95 or M4. Since it naturally sprays it can't kill or do much harm in middle range. -

Hey guys, I play this game for quite a long time now and tested every weapon and the shotgun is not useless. It's actually designed as it should be, effective in very close range. Don't know if you mistaken the shotgun with a rifle, it sprays a lot, but in 1-5 metres it kills in one-shots. I tried to get my body back when spawning in the near of the last firefight, found a shotgun and 3 ammunition in a pianobuilding on the way and I thought it's a lost action, but I got both bandits lurking for me in the prison killed. Just leaned to the side, got a glance at them oneshotted one and on the same way the other one. They ARE effective, used in the right way. -
Hey guys, I had some thoughts on this after seeing the post of the map of chernarus on facebook about the population distribution.. it was like zero people in the west, all population in the east. And I think there is really no objective reason to go more west.. The map is pretty big, but after spawning at the coast most people just run, depending on how far in the north or south they spawn, either to berezino and the NE Airfield or to Elektro. And in exception of the NW Airfield, which needs a pretty long walk compared to the other ones, there is actually nothing that is really drawing the attention in the more western regions. For example that big castle is actually really nice to visit and look at but bears no special value, no cool weapons there or sth. It's such a big map, I really hope there will be more interesting stuff on the left side of chernarus, so people start to explore more (and not 2/3 of the population concentrated in Berezino / NE Airfield / Elektro or on their way to it)

Are you guys serious? Or talking of pve? At least in pvp there is no legit reason to prefer a SKS rather than a M4. Both need 3 shots to take one down (geared up) but the M4 has the most important thing in game for close combat fights; automatic fire. Just strafe around your enemy and thats it. The best is actually to run around with a M4 in your hands and a Mosin with LRS on your back. But Mosin and SKS/M4 can't be put in the same category. Mosin with LRS is just op if you don't get surprised in close range by an enemy, and the M4 is op if you get surprised in close range. SKS is something you take if you don't have one of these, it's like a compromise of both weapons but weaker than than Mosin and M4 in their relating category.

Thoughts on population distribution
MarchmelloMan replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in General Discussion
I think the same about the spawn points, but that's not all. When I'm fully geared, which happens quite fast by now, there is no reason to explore the inland/westside. For example that big castle should bear something that makes it more attractive. In my opinion it is really nice designed and stuff, but not nobody cares about visiting it, cause it's just "boring". The same for almost every other village in the west. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
MarchmelloMan replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Killed again by two wallglitchers.. I really wondered how many people I encountered there, killed 2 hostile players, thought I was alone when suddenly another one glitched through the wall. Fortunately he couldn't aim that well and I could kill him but when I started to loot his body, actually pretty sure that I finally got everyone, but no, more shots coming from someone invisible. I was in a corner and had free sight on the field in front of me, so I guess he was somehow "in the wall" behind or aside of me. -
[Feedback, text only] - the Crossbow, one player's experiences & suggestions.
MarchmelloMan replied to _Mandrake_'s topic in General Discussion
Hmm then I'll just copy in my thoughts on the crossbow. From the point of a pure pvp player -> I found a couple of crossbows but actually never wanted to keep one, cause I actually don't know why. It takes forever to reload, a mosin with LRS is by far more precise and does at least similar dmg, and compared to a M4, the crossbow just sucks in low-middle range if your enemy knows how to strafe. Its only advantage is that it is quite silent.. but most enemies are dead anyway if you can open fire first and your enemy has to locate the shooter (no matter if loud or silent shooting). So it is actually only good for roleplaying.. in serious fights I wouldnt know a reason to choose it.. /edit: im talking of pvp not against zeds -

Mh na, that was something else. In that case it tells me "You are dead" when logging in, and not a black screen with red letters in the left down corner "Char reset (system admin bla)" (dont know the text anymore, wrote it in my original post). -

MarchmelloMan replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
Wow, so that hacker could also reset my char? Cause I logged out of that building since I saw no other way of how to get out of there, logged back in on another server and my char was resetted (with that system message). -

MarchmelloMan replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
I would actually still like to know if that guy who threatened me was an admin or a "normal" cheater? I was safe in a house surrounded by four walls and he could hit me whereever he wanted if I didn't come out. I quitted the game, logged back in and my character was resetted (not dead!). How is that possible? Can admins of servers do such stuff? Talking of resetting and shooting/seeing through walls. -

My game experience until now (100+ hours) and how it changed
MarchmelloMan posted a topic in General Discussion
Hey Survivors, I want to share my game experience, and how it has changed until now. It changed quite a lot I would say. My first “life” in DayZ was like: where the hell am I, how do I get food and soda (not even thinking about weapons) and how do I escape from those zombies?? I walked around for 6 hours, totally disoriented and starved to death. The zombies were a real threat for me and I didn’t know how to fight them, every weapon I found at that point was too weak. My second life was similar, I almost starved to death again, but I got even more unlucky and somehow I managed it to fall from a ladder and get crippled. Crouched to the street and got munched by a zombie. Then I thought that I really need some input and looked for maps/navigation tools/forum input. Found something about navigation with the sun and finding the right sky direction but I skipped that. I used the DayZDB map and finally could navigate a little bit. It took a long time to locate myself and walk into the direction I want plus I needed to work with a compass (if I found one) for some time. After, dunno somewhere after 10-20 hours, I got myself to a fabric (cause it was the nearest fat red spot on the map) and found my first weapon: the SKS. At that point I thought it would only be possible to find one every 100 years, so I really watched my back like a gold digger. To the interactions: I only had a few cause I looked for low-middle pop servers since I read a lot of Bandits stalk around and try to hunt “bambis”. The players I met so far were quite friendly though! With the SKS I made a plan for myself, kinda like a travelling route, and set as my final destination the NW Airfield. I stealthed from one city to another, still looting most houses cause I didn’t know which are worth to plunder and which not, and I still had problems to find enough food. Later I learned that the fat spots on the map are the ones with more value. Half a kilometre in front of the airfield I went prone and observed the situation, crouching slowly towards it. I could only see trees, but I knew behind that treeline was.. the famous airfield, a hotspot for many players and a very dangerous place to be. I think it took me over half an hour to approach the airfield and I was really excited of what would await me. Tons of cool weapons? Sounds from heavy gunfights? Big fat airplanes guarded by survivors? I was curious and excited. And damn cautious. I made it to the trees near the prison of the airfield and went prone. There was a corpse lying around, well equipped but I didn’t dare to touch it yet. Voices came out of the prison, damnit was my heart beating. I didn’t know what to do. Suddenly two guys came out of the prison and they just stood right in front of it, talking, heavily armoured. It was the first time I saw other survivors while having a weapon on my own and not being surprised by them. I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to test my weapon and shot one of them, still hiding on the floor between the trees. He fell, and the other one fled. I didn’t see him anymore. In the next hours and lives I learned to know the map, which houses to loot and what routes are good to get equip. I had the attitude of not killing people on sight, of never killing people who have no gear. KoS was real shit and it sucks especially when they ambush you or you get sniped by a camper from nowhere. Now, after a long time playing the game, I have made quite a development. Technically and psychologically (or however you want to call it). I know as soon as I spawn where I am. I know which houses and places are best to loot and I can equip myself in about one to two hours no matter where I spawn, meaning I get enough food and drinks to survive, a primary weapon, ammunition and a bag to carry stuff. I run to airfields without crouching/observing the situation and just plunder every prison/hangar looking for weapons. If I don’t find any, I take the next server. As soon as I have a weapon and ammunition I join high-pop servers and go looking for trouble. I’m not that excited anymore because I can aquire new stuff in 1-2 hours and the zombies are no threat anymore too. Actually they are more annoying than exciting/dangerous. So they don’t stop me from plundering airfields/piano buildings/offices whatever places have a high chance for dropping weapons. My attitude changed too. I was a friendly player and I was really surprised of how fast you can change to the “evil” side. Situations like the following made it: I ran out of a hangar on the NE airfield, turned right, was running to the next hangar, had nothing else than food and an axe and I literally stumbled into another player who came out of the other hangar. Fully equipped, fully camouflaged, with a mosin and a LRS on his back. We said hello, he literally screamed that he was friendly (though he was much better equipped than me) and we started talking. He seemed to be nice, we said goodbye to each other and I turned my back on him, made some steps and heard a shot, followed by a black screen. Seriously, at that point I wasn’t even in anger, I was simply very very disappointed. I was killed several times before by KoS, while spawning, by a sniper, but never by a player whom I talked to and who acclaimed that he is friendly. The same thing happened to me again by a guy with an axe. Roles switched, I was fully equipped and he attacked me, after he confirmed he was friendly. Now I simply don’t trust anyone, again. I swore I wouldn’t do that mistake again and now I just keep shooting/axing every guy I see, no matter what he says. And what is my goal now? With zombies not being a threat and that surviving is not much of a problem anymore I just equip myself as fast as possible and then run around keep shooting everyone I see. The most boring lives are these, when I run around for 1-2 hours, don’t meet any player and then get sniped from nowhere. Another disadvantage from having big loot is my own caution. When I have really good equip, like M4A1 with RDS and full military clothes I am still afraid to join fights, but what happens then? I get sniped. Well, this is my experience so far, and everyone of us has made a different and plays different. I just wanted to share mine here. Greetings! -
My game experience until now (100+ hours) and how it changed
MarchmelloMan replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I should try that. Actually funny you post this now, I just had a nice interaction with two other guys in Elektro, and I thought about giving them some contact information, but we were all three ambushed by a clan before we could get over with that.. I guess thats the downside of the communication - they hear you out of a distance and know that you are busy, and last but not least you are quite distracted :P Not a rare experience actually, two guys talking happily in a house totally unaware of the fact that anyone in 50 metres around them and outside can hear them :D
