Any idea when the patch will come?

    Most likely Q2.
  2. Santa fox

    Beta in Q2?

Two posts above me nail it, more or less. Shame it went down this route as it was a pretty promising game.

DayZ Hunger Games Event - March 12th

Well, I think the AoO was a tad large, alternatively try and get more long range rifles put in next time. Perhaps also change the dynamics of the area by parking cars, trucks and so forth in places to create obstacles or places where players can take cover. Announcements over TS whenever someone has died would also be nice, as well as some way to get players moving. Most of the time, the people I saw and myself were camping for prolonged periods of time, which I guess the carepackages were supposed to take care of. As for more detailed stats, I wouldn't say no to that, as long as it isn't too hard to do, of course.

DayZ Hunger Games Event - March 12th

I ran into the middle then took off, actually found a few stashes in buildings and managed to wind up with a Mosin and Glock, as well as some other stuff. Took a few shots at people with my scoped Mosin and Magnum but I only managed to get them to bleed, except for the first one I got with my Glock.

    #DayZ Logic

Getting hit with a open hand makes you bleed as much as if your jugular was cut by a machete. You can carry a axe and a rifle on your back, but not two rifles/two axes. Taking curves too hard in cars make them roll over several times.

    Beta in Q2?

Plenty of better off survival games out there that outdo DayZ a thousand times over - both on new engines that are completely made for the game, and on old engines simply reworked. DayZ has lost the niche it once had, I doubt it will ever be able to reclaim it.

DayZ Hunger Games Event - March 12th

So thats who killed me, eh? Dang, shouldn't have played it so aggressive, right as I put down my magnum, I saw him come around the corner and dropped me.

    [NEW] MODULAR MILITARY BACKPACK

I'd much rather see MOLLE backpacks being implemented. Being able to find pockets to attach to it, perhaps US heli only spawns.

    high military gear route

I usually run along the bottom left, or top right of the map, following the roads and hitting the towns. Never had any trouble with food or water, usually have some fairly good loot before I reach NWAF. Can't recommend any better route than those two, it's more or less impossible to get lost, food/water is in ample supply, and several good spots to loot are on the way.

    Police Kevlar Vest

Seems to be on level with a regular kevlar vest. I can get ones classed for both Stab/Stick/Bullets, but the regular is that it's either classed 1 - 3, 1 protects againt 9mm, 2 against 375, 3 against 7.62x59; There has also been some advancements, meaning bullet protection vests can withstand even more of an beating than Soviet rounds. One should understand, though, regular kevlar vests do NOT protect against stab/puncture/hitting damage, and vice verse. A level 3 kevlar vest can be punctured with your everyday knife, unless it is rated for melee damage as well. Black, navy blue and white are the only versions I can acquire of bullet/stab proof vests. White is mainly with stab proof vests, though, meant to be hidden under a shirt or suchlike; Bullet proof are more operational protection.

The problem of DayZ SA - thread #999

I can only agree with the earlier mentioned sentiments, DayZ has gone from being a game I actually want to be involved in, to being a dead game as far as I am concerned. A great idea, but as far as I am concerned, DayZ will never truly be the game that we were promised. After +1000 hours, I can safely say I will not bother with this game anymore, just as I don't bother with Nether. Plenty of other games have far outdone what DayZ set out to do, in less time, as well.

    Status Report - 15 Oct 2015

Will there be any more explosive weapons? AT, more AP or AA options? Armored vehicles or suchlike? Is there any concern amongst the devs that bases will be easy to spot and locate, once they are implemented, due to the relatively small size of the map, having a lot of towns and populated places and such? If so, any plans to remedy this, and how would it be remedied? Is it still planned to be able to "lock down" a city or area, effectively removing zombies from that particular area while it is in such a state? Any plans on underground or similiar areas with the new renderer, or will we have to stick with above ground?

    Status Report - 15 Oct 2015

Interesting update, but i'll remain cautiously optimistic about this. After seeing other mods which outperform DayZ in a lot of aspects, i'll believe DayZ is coming the game I hope, when I see it.

I am sure mods will fix that, and the rest of us who prefer realism over arbitrary restrictions, can enjoy the vanilla game. I see absolutely no problem with how it is now, you advance and get better gear as you advance in the game.

    Status Report - 30 Sept 2015

M90 jacket is a regular, black jacket with very big pockets, as well as a extra large one on the back, Quite popular. As for the backpack, MOLLE type backpacks are extremely popular here. Then your observation certainly won't hold much weight, either, now will it? As I can prove other by what I have seen and what I know friends and family wear, all civvies. Likewise goes with additional stuff like Buffs etc, which normally is heavily used in the army department. Why should it? If the game is going for realism, and army apparel and gear far outperforms that of civilian, why should there be some arbitrary drawback to it? You already have the SMERSH backpack, requiring a extension to fully show it's potentional, for example. Perhaps the spawnpoints should be lowered, though, backpacks, pants and jackets etc are all commonplace in armies, so it wouldn't really make much sense if only one backpack/jacket/pair of pants spawn at a army base, housing at least 20 - 30 soldiers.

    Status Report - 30 Sept 2015

Opposite here, only backpack I have is a MOLLE backpack in black, already has space for my flashlight, knife, pen, notebooks and has several internal pockets as well; And can be expanded almost indefinitely. Likewise, I also have black/green jackets and pants, some even in M90 camo. So, no, bright colors is not as common as you may think. Infact, most clothes/bags etc I see, is brown/black/green/grey etc, rather dark colors. Army clothing and items are made to fit a lot of stuff and be versatile; Civvie variaties such as the M65 and MOLLE backpacks are really common, as well. That's simply how it is.

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

As I have recently cleaned out my computer, and paid attention especially to my GPU/CPU, I have now noticed that my CPU temps love to jump very high during DayZ; Even if I simply start it. Going from 30 - 40c idle, to close to 80c just by launching DayZ, This does not happen in any other games, as far as I can tell, the highest it goes is around 60c, even in graphically demanding games. I do understand DayZ is a very CPU heavy game, but I think 80c is starting to kinda push it, though. Has anyone else experienced a severe increase in CPU temps? Or is it just me? Have a feeling I might have to re-apply the thermal paste and re-adjust the heatsink all together.

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

MX-4 paste is used. I have been thinking about fetching an AM Cooler, but I figure at this point, it's better to upgrade the whole rig, than to put patches onto a dead horse and hope it makes it another mile. Though, I unfortunately don't have the cash for it this very day, and I just need my rig to make it another few months before I can start on a new one. It just struck me as odd that DayZ, and DayZ alone, would push it so hard that it would reach 80 - 90c after just joining a server, but I will keep a AM Cooler in mind next time. Afraid LC isn't quite in my thoughts at the moment, bit too complicated. Thanks for the suggestions, though!

    Stock cooler, after market paste.

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

Hmm.. alright, I know I used to have my CPU running at +90c when doing, more or less anything before I cleaned it out properly, nearly shat myself the instant I saw the temps in CPUiD, though, that's a few years ago. Tinkered around with it a bit, and it seems to be around 70 - 80c now, which is a bit more acceptable. Just hope the temps go down once DayZ is pushed further along, I am really paranoid about running my hardware this hot, esp as I usually play DayZ for +5 hours at a time.

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

Geforce GTX 580 Unfortunately it's a bit of an old rig, though, it still serves me beyond well.
  22. Santa fox

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

I always max out any game I play, and I have yet to encounter one which, in my opinion, puts my real life equipment in any real danger, except DayZ. Which is why I asked, whether it is a common phenomenon, or if I have done something wrong; And as it appears, it is only DayZ doing this.
  23. Santa fox

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

CPU load is between 50 - 95%, it seems my GPU is also jumping quite heavily in load and temps, but only in DayZ.
  24. Santa fox

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

It is a I5-2500, though, as it does not really get stressed out as heavily by other, graphically demanding games such as BF4 and so forth, nor do I believe it gets quite as hot even when doing compiling for various programs, I am starting to doubt I have applied too much paste/seated it incorrectly. Unfortunately I do not have the CPU load figures at the moment as I am playing another game, but I will be sure to grab them next time I hop on DayZ, which should be as soon as the Exp servers are up.
  25. Santa fox

    CPU Load/Temps during DayZ

Hmm.. well, it appears only DayZ does it, and no, I have no other programs running, only Steam and MSi Afterburner, as well as various misc programs that are natural for Windows and other neccesary programs to have running. Just sitting at the main page of DayZ increases my CPU temps from 30 - 40 to 50, if I try to play it, it shoots up about 20 or 30c more.
