Flares and flareguns should definately be a way to start fires. Should consume the flare completely in the case you use it to start a fire, and obviously a flare shot would also be used to ignite it.

Perhaps replace the heavy armor from Metro with riot gear instead, along with a riot shield. Should perhaps act much like the ghillie and prevent backpacks from being worn, while the shield would provide shielding from bullets and the riot suit from zombie punches, as it does in real life.

Sounds like an interesting idea, could perhaps be used as a mobile tent, with the drawback that it would be both loud and slow you down.

There are only 3 items I have never found in DayZ; RAK, Pistol pouch and pouch for the modular vest. Rest is pretty easy to find, even though Ammo cans seem to be pretty rare nowadays, as in, a week of continously looting heli sites, I only found one.

I've noticed the same, but with the M65 jacket and various pants, they get instantly ruined by zeds.

This would certainly make them a bit more attractive, at least to me. Definately wouldn't mind seeing this implemented.

Sounds like a good idea, alternatively implement a non-protective vest, that is more common. After which, you will need to find the plates to make it bullet proof. But still keeping the fact that MOLLE system should still be somewhat of an regular thing onboard of US helicopters.

I mainly go from Zeleno - Triangle Base - NWAF, and on occassion Novaya Petrovka - Severograd. You wll catch 90% of all the heli crashes with this route. Though, I would advise extreme caution. Trucks, groups and zeds are a extreme problem along this route, which is why I never run it on full or mid servers.

Died yesterday, on the 03/03, decided to go raiding around midnight as that is when the server I mainly play on reset. Success! All green with a M65 jacket and green hi cap vest. Decide to continue searching, meet a friendly at one crash site who offers me a SMERSH Vest and backpack, happily accept, trek over to GM and down to Zeleno, die due to me falling off the watch tower sitting near the forest line, after standing up. Respawn Make my way to Novo, and take the line up to NWAF, gear up, Mp5K, FNX, firefighter outfit, make my way over to NWAF, loot, get some food, ammo and mags, and a AK, and mags for that. Raid inbetween NWAF - Triangle Base - Zeleno. Hop off for a few hours, get back in, raid Zeleno - Triangle - NWAF, and backwards, after another server restart. Having encountered numerous of crash sites, I have now a fully decked out M4, FNX, Mp5 and AKS-74U, along with a tan M65, tan pants, gasmask, tan boots and black gloves. Decided to hightail it from Zeleno to NWAF. Stop by Vybor, get hit by a zed, fall unconcious 5 times by said zed, manage to kill it, bandage. Looking around for food and liquid inside Vybor, while I am reading up on forum posts and waiting for my blood to regen, a zombie hits me once and I die. I am done.

Is BI working on DayZ? I thought it was a offspring of that studio. Though, I would imagine the first problem is the fact that the engine isn't designed for it. Something I doubt will ever be able to be changed, really.

You should be able to carry two of anything you want, i.e. 2 rifles or 2 melee weapons, or 1 of each. The fact that you can't is just silly.

Duping? Devs are working on that. Hoarding? Nothing should be done about it. Personally, I always carry as much ammo, morphine, mags, weapons and so forth that I can possibly find. I will also glad strip down a M4 or other weapons I find, and either drop them off in the middle of a field or simply throw them into water or such. Don't like it? Tough luck. I am not exploiting or cheating in any way, and if you don't like it; Get a private shard and sit in your bubble. And no, constantly hoarding and gearing up again isn't a problem, between the countless bugs, superman zombies and players, the weekly resets aren't a worry for me. Infact, neither are the bugs nor players.

Agree'd, I don't think there would be much use for blank bullets, much like the training pants/shirt, the one with only two slots. It's a niche and a few people will use it, but the majority simply wont. Perhaps something for modders to add in at a later point.

I mainly play on a private server, though, I am always on the lookout for heli crash sites to get better geared, get all the attachments for my AKS-74U, M4 and Mp5. Usually I get shot doing this, but an hour or so later, I am right back to where I was. I would definately suggest exploring around, just make sure you know where you are so you don't get lost in the middle of nowhere and can't get back and die due to starvation/dehydration/hypo-hyperthermia etc. Sometimes I also try and get matching gear, i.e. all firefighter, all paramedic and so forth. Changes things up a bit, rather than just getting a Mosin and camping for half an hour at the triangle base.

Using the enviroment to your advantage with improvised traps such as the gas stove and fire extinguisher sounds quite interesting, i.e. shooting on one to create a diversion or a smoke screen, or using a gas stove as a grenade. Not sure about dual wielding though, it's pretty hard even with just one firearm, though, I wouldn't mind seeing dual wielding say, a flashlight/FNX or a flare/magnum. M82 I wouldn't mind having implemented, either, you can already take shots a kilometer away with the Mosin. The M82 is also a Anti-material rifle, so imagine it more as a mobile AA-Cannon or as a way to stop trucks dead in their tracks. It'd be pretty silly to take out players with it, I can only imagine you'd ruin more or less everything they're carrying, and not to mention the report.

Once a PSO-1 scope goes below worn, I see cracks similiar to the ACOG. I can still see through it, albeit nowhere near as good as before, so I usually discard them. Though, in regards to the accuracy, I believe it DOES decrease it.

Fairly sure my friend and I figured out they DID have decreased accuracy when broken, i.e. to the point of cracks in the glass.

Sounds like a interesting plan, perhaps having to salvage the parts and at the start, you only have a flatbed and the lever mechanism to move it along, but can be extended by adding metal plating and such, by salvaging such items and adding them onto the cart, provided the game engine can actually do that.

No. None should be punished, in any way, for the way they choose to play the game, as long as it is not cheating or exploiting.

Don't see why I shouldn't be able to. As it is right now, I can sling a mosin on my back, then run with a shotgun in my hands. Or cut down the double barreled one, stuff it into my backpack and i'm set. Or go with a Mosin and the AKS-74u, which I do as often as I can.
