I do when my buddy and I get gunned down and it's late at night. Easy way to gear up without screwing people over- at 2 am MST there are dozens of 0-3 populated servers.

I enjoy the respawing zeds, but the continual respawn due to gunfire is ridiculous. Having some sort of cap on the amount that respawn within a time frame or area is needed to keep the zeds from turning from a fun/deadly part of the game to a complete gamebreaker/ammo waster. When five members of a group can spend ten minutes and over four hundred rounds constantly fighting zombies with guns in a tiny town like Kamyshovo, there is a problem.

You had a Payday mask. I would have KoS' d you instantly- Payday is bandit in my book. Doesn't matter if you are really a bandit or not, you have the mask and I kill you.

I shot a zed with a 22 pistol as it charged through a sand pit. Last shot as the zed went down hit the pit and a fireball erupted. Freaked me and my friend out.

Quick question- does the quality rating (Badly damage, damaged, worn, pristine) effect the accuration of the LRS? I've looked and seen multiple views, but no real answer.

PPSH-41. It's a WWII classic, fits in with the background of former Soviet Chernarus, looks great, and has some fun attactments/mags.

Along with the 10/22, the MKII will be useful when hunting is implemented- conserve your larger caliber ammo for zeds/players and hunt "wabbits" with the .22 stuff.

One shot kill for a headshot is likely- as long as your target is without a helmet. The .22 is perfect for multiple shots because of low recoil, and we should get more ammo per slot due to the small bullets. Probably going to be really good for suppressed zombie killing or sneaking up on a sniper.

I'll admit, it may have been an overreaction. I saw you running from the south while I was running from the north. At first, I believed you were a fresh spawn with on black shirt/pants on. I drew my SKS because I didn't want to get punched in the face. As I drew closer you put your hands up and stood still while calling out "Friendly" in a vaguely Russian accent, very softly and garbled. I was encouraged by the nonconfrontational posture you had adopted but I am a naturally wary person. Even closer I moved to you and unpleasant details became more clear; you were wearing full military garb, a Payday mask, and had a Mosin on your back. Twenty feet away now, your hands come down and my rifle comes up. As you begin to move, I fire. You drop and I shoot again. You have tripped my danger sense and now I have to check if you are alive. It is a sad negative; one of my bullets smashed through your mask and helmet to steal away your life. I mourn briefly then begin the task of checking your equipment for useful items. Your backpack is full of ammo and two additional magnums. Hmm, only weapons and ammo fill your inventory, along with some handcuffs, a burlap sack, and a couple of rotten fruit. I now do not believe you had friendly intentions in mind for me. I begin to feel better about the encounter- my new Mosin is slung on my back as I walk into the future...

There is difference between being prepared and having only ammo (close to four hundred rounds of Mosin/Magnum) and bandit gear on your character. Just didn't feel right to me. When his hands dropped and he started moving/possibly equipping something- I was worried and shot first.

Sawed-off B95 would be similar to what British hunters used to do to their elephant guns in India when tiger-hunting on elephant back. They would cut down one of their over-under or side-by-side rifles to a pistol length weapon for backup in case a tiger let up on the hunters' elephant and tried to attack them.

Ok, even though I agree with iBane, I'll treat this as somewhat serious. Of the three "medical drugs" you mention, only cocaine has any medical use that would be relevant to DayZ. Cocaine can be used as a topical anesthetic (numbs the area around wounds) but is not used in combat/trauma situations. I guess that you could have your Medic character use it before bandaging, but it would do little compared to the planned, and more useful in a trauma sense, disinfectant. Tobacco does not have any real medical value, and marijuana only is really useful as a treatment for long-term medical issues.

What does the broken red/yellow chain mean when it doesn't have the server reset timer? I've heard that it can sometimes be used as an indicator of someone spawning, but not always. Is that correct?

My simple AMD 7970 seems to work well enough- haven't had any issues no matter day/night.

My bloodlust today was dulled by falling off a firehouse roof when I had free-look locked. My buddy laughed his ass off when he figured out why I "suicided." I had to re-gear with a fire axe and swing wildly at a survivor who surprised the hell out of me when we both looted a small room from opposite ends. Then I ran like a little girl while he cursed and patched up his bleeding torso.

Just started playing the game a couple of days ago. Two members of my Mech warrior Online regiment, who were DayZ vets, decided that we should do some hunting on the NWAF. We gear up, me and another with Mosins and another with a m4, and head to the firehouse roof to set up a sniper nest. For an hour, nothing happens. We are in a big server with over 30 people, but no one is showing up. Suddenly our m4 guy spots a survivor running into the neaest hangar. I pop up in a crouch and fire off a shot but miss the guy as he scrambles into the hangar's doorway. We watch the doorway but think that this guy must have surely logged. Thirty seconds later he pops out and looks directly at me. My Mosin barks and a bloom of red appears in the center of his chest. Perfect center of mass shot. It was only after my fellow sniper looted the body that my m4 buddy mentions that the enemy had fired off at least three rounds- I was so focused that I completely missed his fire. Today was a good day, even after our nest was stormed by two different fireteams an hour later.
