Slightly miffed today on logging on as I went to open up the compass in my pocket only to find that since logging off it had gone from worn to ruined seemingly in an instant. Luckily I carry a spare, so checked that and it had gone from worn to badly damaged (and barely readable). checking everything else over and my pants are now ruined (Though I was close to Cherno on a max pop server so understandable :) ) but both my water canteens were in a ruined state along with other bits and bobs being degraded severely. All the weapons are fine though.... Did someone shoot me through the backpack/clothing without me noticing? :(. K.

well, I was running up the hill from the power substation hearing zombies al the way but there were none in site (though they sounded close) and I never got hit by anything... Seems to be a Glitch I guess... :(. Still 100% healthy though..... K.

It'll piss me off to get killed in this game as it takes me a while to stock up on gear at the moment. But, I've come from EvE online, where risk of loss is just one of those things.... K. -

Looking at this I'd say that there would need to be a much higher distribution of loot when the server comes up but a much longer time between refreshes etc. Potentially you would then get people racing for guns and ammo but the smarter people would be digging in, hiding and collecting all the food together with a few basic weapons to use just in case. Gun bunnies run around wiping each other out or hunting for the hoardersbut in the end, how well can you shoot if you're suffereing from critical hunger. you can't eat bullets no matter what pop-culture says ;). As we have a shipwreck on the coast, I'd love to see a mass scramble for resources if a few rogue cargo containers were to wash up on the shore in random places every now and again. :). K. -
Server population - do you gravitate to large or small?

using standard numbers from multiplayer games, 128 is probably the max we are likely to see. Just enouogh so you can avoid people if you want plus enough players to form a few factions and scattered raiders/solo's. K. -
Zelenogorsk and Soznovka are decent towns to visit, so are Stary Sobor and Novy Sobor. I've gone through about 30% of the towns so far in about a week whilst walking from the east coast from tulga to south of Vybor, plus explored along the coast somewhat... K.

Needs a dedicated trade window so you can actually pass stuff from player to player (hand to hand) rather than via the floor (unless it's "Trust me, I'll drop 20 rounds of 7.62 behind that wall and you drop that bottle of antibiotics around that corner...." :) K.

Just this morning I did "Epic Stupid" at the military base south of Kabanino/Vybor. I'd spent a few nights play walking all the way over from the west coast, dodging zombies and players plus slowly upgrading all my kit etc. When I got there, the base hadn't been touched so I loaded up on some military gear, helmet, large backpack and an m4, plus all the odds and ends I could carry. Doing a final check I saw a bottle of disinfectant which when clicking on it, rather than it going into my pack (which was full), I proceeded to down it and immediately start puking up. Shit... So sodding stupid. :). Luckilly I had two carbon tablets and a stack of food and water so I kept on moving south to Soznovka, all grey screen and puking up all the way, stuffing my face with water, soda and beans en route. Cheking online, what I'd done was apparently incurable ( :( ) but slowly over 3 hours I managed to nurse myself back to health by the time I reached Zelenogorsk.... K.

Nope, fraid not, I have been held up at gunpoint a few times but not robbed anyone. Mind you, with my newly found m4, who knows.... Meh, I'm a crap shot so it'll make no odds.. :) K. -

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of being a sociable friendly in this game, but the mechanics here are like EvE-Online Low-sec on steroids :); K. -

Looking inconspicious and dodging the hotspots helps a lot. I was just on and some new guy decided to tak along with me, we picked up some bags and helmets along with gloves etc. and I gave him my spare knife. Talking over comms we (foolishly) decided to head down into a more urban area (Berezino) as he was desperate for food etc, and all I had was a single can of beans. So, we reached the outskirts and met a guy with a gun (with me dressed like a construction worker with an axe and dayglo backpack and new buddy baseball cap and knife), so we hollered "Friendly.. We'll be going now.." whilst backing off and keeping weapons stashed only for his friend to turn up and demand our surrender. Descretion being the better part of valour, I yelled "Leg it!" and we hoofed it down hill, only for them to give chase and surround my buddy when i ducked behind some trees and hit the deck behind a wall. As they were both focussing on the newbie, I crawled back, then stood up and legged it non-stop to the shipwreck, as the crackle of gunfire rang out... The old cyberpunk phrase came to mind, "Do unto others, then split..." ;) A friend in this game is only someone who hasn't dicked you over yet or outlived their usefulness. :lol: . As the game develops then we'll see more and more social stratification and action, and hopefully if we can get bigger player numbers on each server (128 maybe?) then societies can build... K.
