If the gun was never held by another survivor, it'll be pristine. If the gun was held by another player, and that player was shot while holding the gun, the gun would suffer a reduction in condition. So basically, if you pick up a gun that is not pristine, it means it's been held by another survivor at some point.

Exit the game completely and restart. If that doesn't work, try it once more. If that doesn't work, your character is truly lost. My best guess would be that your friend logged off in an unsafe place and was killed in the 30 second combat log timer.

Well, this is an extreme survival simulator. The closer they can make it to the real deal, the better. I'm not trolling when I say I think the game is too easy right now. -
Running an HD6950, 1090T & 16GB DDR3 rig and I never ever get any noticeable framerate drops. I run the game on max everything, except post processing (which I disable completely).
