I joined these forums to post about an issue I'm having that is roughly described with the same details as posts ranging from 2014 even back to 2012 This issue is such: Nights are extremely dark for me-- so much to the point where I am unable to see anything, even with multiple changes being made to gamma/brightness/bloom/no bloom/hdr/different conditions. If anyone is familiar with terms in photography, or imaging in general: it seems as if the midrange tones and shadows and any deviations of the sort are just TOTALLY black no matter what. Raising gamma seems to only target the highlights, so the edges of objects will sometimes appear, but absolutely no range of tones is displayed. The sky itself, even when it is cloudy, appears to be pixelated, however this goes away if gamma is lowered. I'd like to say that at all times playing at night time (dawn, or dusk as well) is barely playable, and just looks plain buggy.. I can't see zombies right next to me. At the moment I do not have screenshots because the scrn print doesn't work,--I'm aware there's a way, I am totally new, and like I said, I joined the community to figure this problem out so I can enjoy the game with other people whom I've attempted to play with and who also can not figure out why I can't see them when they're standing right in front of me. I get it that this game is meant to be realistic. For example I've always been someone who mods his Elder Scrolls games to have a more accurate portrayal of nighttime. But this... is just in a whole different world. On one hand high gamma helps me out, and on another it just makes the problems worse. Using a flashlight looks like an extremely SHARP amount of light where it is actually possible to see, contrasted with simply sillhoutes and a pixelated sky.. So goddamn annoying. I cant even see the ground when the sun isn't up high in the sky in this game, and when it is daytime, I can actually play. If anyone could help me out I'd seriously appreciate it. I have a AMD Radeon HD7700. My problem looks somewhat similar to this old-ass video:
