    Map needs more personality

    They need to have more artistic direction. Buildings should have vines growing on them. there should be more bodies or perhaps skeletons around, Some buildings should be nothing more than burned out foundations etc

    I like the idea of chemical respirators having use but in reality Chemical weapons are very short lived. Thats one of the reasons they're usable. They would disperse with the amount of time since the apocalypse

    Thanks Don't forget Interruptable animations. Meaning if you are eating/bandaging/slow vaulting etc. You should be able to stop the animation playthrough at a moments notice if you get attacked or shot at. This would cancel the animation and you would not get credit for whatever action you were undertaking at the time you interrupted the animation until the animation has played fully. This is a major game issue if you're sitting and drinking/eating/bandaging and all the sudden a zombie spawns behind you or you're shot at and can't move because you are stuck in the animation

  6. I think you're 100% right. Example I spawned wandered into a barn and found a shovel (which is useless on experimental zombies) Turn around and a fresh spawn is ready to punch me out. The question is why? We're both fresh spawns. The guy can see i'm not geared. I can only surmise he's such a crappy player at dayz that they only want to steal other players gear or shoot people because they don't know how to play the game or are so terrible that they keep dying and eventually give up to the point where they'll kill anyone on sight. I think the game is too difficult for them. They don't understand/know how to play it. Get tired of dying and failing at it so when they do get a weapon they just sit and shoot people because its easier than roaming around chernarus doing stuff

    Realism. Some people are complaining about it. Or the lack of it Now I know this game has no sort of class system unless you make one for yourself. I.E. Join a clan and play a "medic" or "sniper" or "CQB" etc Since we have defibs and other medical equipment. Why can't we have surgeons and change the way we have healing or bandaging. If DayZ wants to be the real anti-game game. Then there should be a real penalty for getting shot. If you get shot wherever you are you can have your limb broken along with bleeding that has to be bandaged and perhaps have surgery done to remove the bullet. You could add in animations such as limping for reduced movement speed. Use the Blurred vision from sickness for shock and trauma wounds. Add in Kevlar vests with rifle plate to mitigate damage. Add in surgeon tools instead of morphine to repair and set broken limbs with added movement restrictions to your character and a "heal time" before your character can move normally again. Or you could use something like this for a hardcore server Adding in Surgery and crippling damage effects with healing time would change the nature of engagements. People would have to group if they wanted a medic to watch their back. Also I would recommend some nurse/doctor/Red Cross Vests items in game
  8. Non-interruptable animations like bandaging/eating/doing ANYTHING are a major PITA they need to fix that along with the ghosting zombies and fall damage

    I haven't been able to find any servers I can connect to that run 24/7 time or short days. Everything is 24/7 Day and its annoying

    The idea is to not be quick and have the need of other players to help you just like bloodbagging. A design like this would force people to group together more
  12. LIMPING for godsake! I dont want to crawl in prone when i break my leg. I want to limp in the fields with the zombies! also taking off backpacks to look through contents like they did in the last of us. attaching weapons, opening doors. The more animations the better this game will look/feel

    This would be great because people could wear identifying clothing if they so chose. It would really stick out for clans and gamer buddies. These days you can't tell the bandits from the heroes since they wear the same gear. PS. If you're a hero- do yourself a favor and ditch the payday 2 masks. It doesnt help. You'd be better off rockin' the UN berets

    I think specializations are something the player builds. I.e you find medic equipment and want to play as a medic or you find mechanic equipment and u want to be an engineer and fix up cars and junk when they come out That said, I'd like a skill based system so that if you become a medic u get really good at it the more u do it etc

    I agree with the points of bullet removal being impractical but you could still have things like Sewing Kit used to stich up wounds- I would really like to see that, it would make sense in game and provide a use for that item since nobody keeps it. Even if they created a nerfed surgery system where you would need to stitch a wound first, disinfect it, and then bandage it. This would change the system so that you wouldnt need just rags, you would need an alcohol, sewing kit, and rags which would put you out of commission for a while even if you could apply these things solo. (although its pretty unrealistic to successfully stitch yourself without passing out with no anesthesia or alcohol)

    In truth you don't have to rework ballistics- You could set it up similar to bloodbagging , force feeding. When you get shot there is a percentage chance that you either break a limb, bleed outright or are crippled with an imbedded round. This would be determined by the type of caliber weapon that shoots you. So rifle rounds would be more likely to burn through you while lower caliber weapons like pistols or 22.lr etc. would be more likely to be embedded. This would also be determined by if you are wearing a vest or vest with plates etc. If you wanted to get really crazy you could add distance as a factor. The arma engine has lots of these types of abilities where scripts could be added. Once you are in the shot state you're out of the fight for the most part and someone would have to patch you up. Theres been several suggestions for skill trees and I think that would be a good idea to have a medic or surgeon as a skill tree. But outside of that the mechanics would be pretty much the same as bloodbagging someone. If skill trees are implemented you can add some sort of percentage chance of successfull surgery based on tool equipment, reading books etc. A failure rate would also be there so if your character is unsuccessful he can get a message. "The surgery was unsuccessful and bleeding could not be stopped." Then the shot char would just go into to typical unconsciousness and die. I would like to also have something like in some DayZ mods that you can carry another player with a reduced movement speed. This would allow people to drag bodies out of the line of fire to operate on them. Although rare there should be more ballistic vests in the game as Police and military would still have them and perhaps you could find spawns on corpses of characters in varying states of condition with or without plates.

    okay i understand its alpha. Yes I understand devs are working on zombie spawning systems BUT Once they are implemented. PLEASE this should be STANDARD. If you get hit and are bleeding there should be a percentage change that zombies will spawn around you to murder you. IRL blood smells. And its a strong smell. The infected should be drawn to it

    True gunshots attracting zombies was in the mod with the dinnerbell. The only problem with the mod was usually unless you were in Breaking point or something there wasn't enough zombies spawned to actually be a threat. I'd love to see that reimplimented

    I think Dean modeled his zombies of the 28dayslater zombies as the shambling zombies arent much of a threat in small numbers. They only work when theres 10,000 of them. These guys sprinting after you give you no time aim a weapon and seem like a plausible threat atleast to me
  23. I always thought DayZ needs a concentration- er.....Work Camp for Bandit re-offenders... There are some choice sites I would like to modify like the stables and farmhouses northeast of Stary Sobor. I would like to fortify that area and designate it as Site Z where all bandits can be rounded up and disposed of....

    So it doesnt have to be on the basic server- It can be added as a feature on hardcore. I'm not pro adding everything into the game. I'm thinking about adding in things that have a major effect on gameplay. Thats what the suggestion forum is for. As I said DayZ is not a mil sim- But it is some sort of survival sim. These are just topics to think about. I personally think it would add in a new range of gameplay and shape the overall experience with more depth than other "surival" games Everything in this game should kill you or atleast try. It makes surviving much more rewarding as the player constantly battles game elements in the form of zombies, players, and the world along with scenarios that can present themselves just like falling off a building and breaking your leg. Its not for everyone and even ppl that play the game, if they break their leg and run out of morphine, they just end up killing themselves because they dont like the hardcore experience. I find it much more interesting having to worry about bandits and zombies while searching for morphine to fix my char's leg. Battlefield surgery would add another dimension and new player interaction besides KOS'ing and holding people up

    No I want zombies to be a death sentence. This is the zombie apocalypse. Humanity is wiped out because something vicious and nasty killed EVERYONE. How would you avoid zombies? Just like you do now, Sneak, roll, hit them in the head with an axe from behind. They're no threat. However if you DO get hit and are bleeding then more should come to finish you off. This would add difficulty. ALSO it would add more interesting fights between bandits. If I want to go kill a bunch of people or kill someone with an axe, as I begin looting their corpse I have to now watch out for zombie spawns coming for the fresh kill. This game is called DayZ. Zombies should play an important aspect of the gameplay along with other players and base building, clans, heros and bandits, etc.
