Anyone else hide weapons to prevent others from looting them?

its pretty sad because theres alot of places people don't look for weapons ammo but they are in fact there. It's not just military bases and piano houses. And theres always something there in those places even in towns near the coast where everything has been looted (or so you'd think) -

Damage values have to be reworked on the .22 sporter and amphibian but I like both of them. Also the fact that I can carry like 500rnds will be a bonus when the weight system is finally integrated

randomize all spawn points. Both for loot and player spawns.. It would be so disorienting to be spawned in a random area of the map you wouldn't know exactly where u are

WARNING PIC HEAVY I haven't seen anything here and it's not on the the DayZ map so it's a new city. As it stands now no zombies spawn there on experimental and some buildings on the outskirts of towns have trees in them but Welcome to the New city! There's no names or road signs yet however Firstly here is where it is approximately Since no zombies were spawning it was interesting to have a little look. I already knew I was so far from where average people play I had time to take in the scenery without fear of being KOS'd. Also the Loot did spawn in the town but its the average residential loot. Food, clothes, occasional PU scops in the garages. Some of the garages on the outskirts have some issues with trees but its not bad Since the town has no name as of yet on the DayZ map I'll call it Everon for this sign post. Also there are no town signs or markers on the road entering the town Here's a view of the main street. Behind me to my left is a grocery store and a factory (the kind with the mill machinery inside. The outside looks like the piano house but the back has a mill attached to it. Sorry my graphics are on low but my comp is pretty terrible. The city also has a commie apt. Block and there is a giant furnace tower like in cherno and the outskirts of electro. I looked around a bit and there doesnt seem to be a hospital (unless I missed it) or a police station yet. As of yet none of the buildings had any guns, it was mostly food, clothes and gear. Although the fire house had alot of shotgun ammo along with the Piano house that is actually a mill inside. This is why I pity most of you folks that insist on running up and down the coasts or only going to the airfields. Theres tons of places they're adding into this game but I imagine once vehicles are introduced more folks will make it out this far. Here's the tower Part of the town is unfinished. It looks like they're going to add a factory area like cherno has or industrial or something. I can't wait for it.

Why The Distinction Between Civilian/Military Weapons Is Bad, And You Should Feel Bad

The only reason I was for "civilian" weaponry was due to having some weapon that was not fully automatic. It's kind of underwhelming in this game against players or zeds when you just start mowing everybody down. Even with the beefed up zeds on the latest patch. If I want to go full pve and just mow down the waves of spawns I can do just that until I run out of ammo. I dont have the same level of tension in the game if Im running around with only a pistol than I would if I had an RPK and a drum mag -
Before people are whining Zombies are too easy. Theres too much KOS People don't group together This game is boring... Now when they beef up zombies to make them a threat its all whine whine whine. The biggest issue is just the zombie pathing which is being worked on

You NEED to be able to Interrupt animations. What I mean is if you are in the midst of doing one animation I.E. eating or drinking or whatever you need to be able to interrupt that animation with movement like running. It would cancel the animation so you wouldn't get the benefit of doing whatever animation because it did not play fully. Some animations this is possible but alot of the animations it is NOT possible. I.E. stepping over a fence or eating/drinking. bandaging You have to be able to interrupt these animations and run or do something else due to the nature of this game and whether or not a zombie or another player attacks you etc. I don't know about you but if i'm eating my glorious beans, I'm not gonna stick around to finish them if i'm getting attacked by something. I think this is what people mean by "sluggish controls" is that you can't cancel an animation from playing it by doing something else. I think this is a major game issue when it comes to player control in the world

I actually think the resident evil series has the best type of zombie mythos. A virus that causes engineered cellular regeneration. This type of virus would result in a zombie that is not actually decaying but regenerating. It even made sense in the last couple Resident Evils that the zombies would decay rapidly into a puddle of organic goo after you killed them. This type of zombie could potentially go through most of cellular repair necessary to keep it "alive" and a threat. The plaga from RE4 thru RE6 is also a good plot device because it creates an embeded parasite that takes control of the host but can remain undetected. People gave the Resident Evil series alot of grief for changing up the story after RE4, but their zombie mythos is probably one of the most realistic in terms of actually being a threat that would continue for some time

I wish there was a "play dead" animation that would work for zombies as well as people. This way you could feign death if a bunch of zombies are chasing you but also use it to bait idiots to your body and have your friends set up an ambush -
I think 28days later best sums it up Truth is any zombie story fails if you take into account basic biology and the enviornment. An undead zombie like the walking dead would fall apart within a month. Maggots would eat it from the inside out. It wouldnt be able to walk past week since its muscles would be feasted upon by insects. The enviorment would dessicate it's skin in a desert or cause it to blow up into a bloated corpsicle that could hardly move let alone run. 28 days later style zombies would eventually fail because even if they had all the attributes of rage virus zombies, they would die out in a week or too due to lack of water if they were alive and infected. Not to mention passing out from lack of sleep. Zombie stories are just like anything else- a suspension of reason

PVC bows are the best and the cheapest and they can be made in 15-20 minutes from a 5 foot piece of 1/2 inch schedualee 40 pvc pipe. They will have aproximately 25-55lbs of force depending on how you shape the bow. This guy is Nick Tomihama and yes. That bow is made of pvc pipe. and painted green. It is on par with any $100-150 entry fiberglass bow that I've ever shot -

Bow accuracy and damage should also be dependant on player health. If you're healthy and energized you should be able to use it more efficiently than if you're starving/sick/injured/infected -
Dont forget the Pitchfork in experimental. It's on par with the fire axe

Just because you get shot at doesnt mean you have to engage that person. I think people get suckered into getting into firefights when they're outgunned/outnumbered just because we're used to so many fps and instantly responding. If the name of the game is survival, then we shouldnt want to rush to our deaths. Unfortunately DayZ is really just a big pvp arena but I find it hilarious when I end up running from a fight or circling around the area only to see the idiots roam around out in the open intent on bloodlust. I could shoot back but its not my playstyle. If you're more of survival player and iike that playstyle, avoid getting suckered into fights. Since its permadeath, any gunfight you get into where you don;t have the advantage is a bad fight Also to you folks whining about combat logging. it's not always combat logging. Sometimes people slip away and you lose your target. Ofcourse theres blatant combat logging but there are also some of us that dont feel like killing everything that moves....which may be a good thing for you

I only found a 30rnder in the barracks around pustoshka I like the .22s but they srsly need to fix the damage. If you shoot a zombie in the face with a ruger Mk3 at 5 feet it should be an instakill
