A "Battle rifle is just usually a .30 caliber rifle that is capable of burst fire with a selector switch. Its just like "Assault rifle". They're kind of arbitrary terminology but in the US, Assualt rifle is a burst fire weapon legally. You can assault someone with any type of rifle and you can use any rifle in a battle. For DayZ I'd like a mishmash of weapons each with realistic balistics. You don't want to be shredded with a .30 or 7.62 or 5.56 or any NATO round weapon but there has to be some balance. Since most of the arma world is outside, SMG's aren't really useful unless you want to get in wars in the big cities. There should be some sort of movement penalty in close quarters with longer weapons like "battle rifles/assualt rifles". I mean moving around with a full length SKS or SVD etc in close quarters in reality is not feasible. Just try to move around in a tight space or corridor with one and you will be bumping into the walls. Its the reason SMGs were invented I'd like to see different movement speeds for different weapons. It should be quicker to draw a pistol than a SMG and quicker to draw a SMG than full length rifle. Also weight should go into consideration so that if you want a 30 cal weapon you're going to tire more when running than someone that is carrying a pistol or a pistol caliber SMG. These are just realistic factors. The guy carrying 1000rnds of .22 is gonna be more mobile than the guy carrying an AKM and 1000rnds of 7.62. If you havent carried ammo in real life- its pretty fucking heavy especially when you're all kitted up That said..... I want: CETME please

When you think about it its kind of amazing how they're pushing an engine which was not designed for any of this stuff to the limit. Imagine if Dayz was made on Unreal 4 or Frostbite -
I'd like a fog system. Most of chernarus is forest and the rest of it is coastline. There's alot of moisture just in that type of landscape so there should be plenty of fog at times. Add in the time of year which seems to be late fall early winter. More fog makes sense

BP should be availible in the heavy industrial centers. Or rather- the ingredients to make it. You should gather charcoal from fires, You should be able to gather Potassiu ntrate from farms and industrial areas along with sulfer.

I hate listening to him because it gets you hyped up for something that i'm not sure will actually ever be implemented -
You can enter all the buildings in SA but only about 5 are worth actually going into. Until the loot table is randomized its pointless. You dont need to search a town. Just run to the police station, firehouse, piano building etc.

Spetznaz and police brigade use this small AK variant SMG that spits out 9mm (which is already in the game) I think it would make sense especially with whats going on in chernarus that Spetznaz would've been there and SRT would probably be out in full force I'd like to see something like this with the attachments for a site and silencer For the mean factor

I decided to do it....finally to see what all the hoopla is about. I have 100+ hours in the game but have never shot the mosin as I've never actually managed to find one with a setup I liked or the ammo since the SKS is more abundant and so was the ammo. Anyways after finding a mosin I headed down to the coast to snipe a bambi and came to an area with the long run north. Most times if folks that spawn there beg for someone to kill them as its so far from anything useful by the time u get to a town, you're already starving and have no chance really. So I saw some bambi running north and took a few shots. I hadn't zeroed the rifle and it was coming up short. The bambi was kind enough to stand still to let me change it to about 300m and then put a round in him. It was boring, and stupid. There was none of the tension that arrives when u bump into someone unexpectedly. Other than target practice it was useless. I don't understand these KOS'ers. It's not even fun when people don't shoot back..

this is stupid...move the camera closer to the traditional 3rd person OVER THE SHOULDER shooter FOV. Problem solved. seriously why is this so hard? If you want vanity mode its fine- i like 3rd person myself because i like to see my character. So just move the cam to over the shoulder and that solves the exploit problem

people want to complain about realism seriously need to realize this There is a reason militaries, rebels, insurgents etc wear uniforms. Theres a reason they have glow in the dark eyes on the back of military helmets. Theres a reason you can tag enemies with IR signals. In the fog of war its important to distinguish friend from foe. I would recommend being able to make armbands from rags and then paint them whatever color you want. This would not set a "hero"/"bandit" thing but it would create an identifying marker. That way we can still have an organic authentic experience when people come together and want to assign meaning to arm band color. Even in real life people use identifying signals or uniforms to distinguish themselves from others -
Solving problem of kill on sight - Vehicles.

How would vehicles stop KOS? In my mind that would just let people camp in the bushes along a road or in the mtns along a roadway and pick people off as they drive by. That's an even bigger incentive because not only will you have their gear, you'll have a brand new car. Even a two man bandit team with a dedicated sniper and a fire support guy would waste anybody driving down the road Not that'd I'd do such a thing though... -

Half of the northern and western maps are completely open territory where they could add in tons of things. Currently i'd say something like 3/4 or less of the map is actually played in as an area. The coastline and a few main cities are all that people generally spend time around
